ParticipantSend and then relax it.Let it drop. Don’t let it curl accross you. Got it. Stick with the outside arm for reward. Got it. Yes Jedi has a wrap verbal. I do the “dig, dig, dig” Means take the jump and you are wrapping the jump. Coming back.

ParticipantAnd…we progress to leaving sooner. I use that white stick. Hmm…at home I have a white yard stick. That would work. Weeee!! Fun! And then we stopped at this level. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gil8qLbfCXk

ParticipantNo bowls wing. Yea. She didn’t try to cut in even when going right. Supah! !!!! lol. And Yes! We did the Turn and Burn too! lol. Oh fun! Yea. she liked this. The send went nice. This is just the first one. So I waited for her to almost come all the way around. Hmm…..sometimes she seems a little wide at the beginning of the turn. But then she comes in tighter when chasing me/toy. Should she be tighter? Maybe not. Oh and sometimes I use my outside arm and sometimes the dog side arm. Probably good to just get used to both. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WPMEfABos1Q

ParticipantWe did this yesterday at Bonnies. No Bowls. First time wing. A few times. She is a little distracted. What she is doing is she is looking at the door. Bonnies dogs where out in the fence when we got there and she thinks she can go play with them. But actually she figured out playing with me is better and kind of forgot about them. I did a warmup with bowls. Just a few. And then got rid of them. Boy all that foundation training really paid off. She really knows this. And she does fine feeding from the hands. The wing ended up about a foot and a half away from me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWanDvzEKZ0

ParticipantI’m not sure if I understand the Countermotion. What you said. She does start before me? Or not. If I am sending her. Wouldn’t that be her starting before me? So, handler focus, then obstacle focus, then send, then leave?
Yea. the cat wacked at her I see. She don’t like any of the dogs. Only me. lol. Yea. I’ll use the bag for this too. Okay. Let her start. Don’t start with her. Got it. I need to be able to SEND….her to the bag on these. Hmm…am I supposed to have a verbal for the bag? Or just ready, ready…get it or something? Thanks!!

ParticipantAnd…here are the RC’s for Building Commitment. Hmm…I switched to the boot. I think I will just keep using the bag next time. Boot is kind big. And….the I have the baby gate up and the cat is on the other side. She is worried about that. lol. But then she gets going. Going Right is not as good as left again. But it said not to worry if they are turning the wrong way, so I just kept going. Towards the end I do more lefts. They look really good. And kinda in the middle of the video she went around the boot. Not sure what the heck that was. I’ll work on these with the red bag. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBe07lP2c6Y

ParticipantAnd….we also did the Building Commitment Counter motion and the RC’s. This is the counter motion. Ooo…this was fun. She did pretty good. You can tell the ones she misses. I didn’t push it too much since this was her first time. But I did push it a little sometimes. So then if she missed I tried to let her hit it before I took off. Cool. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBbnOvb5-f0

ParticipantOh…I see that at 1:08. I just turn and go the other way. Ha,ha….why did I get so obsessed with bringing her around. Do a FC and head back got it. Oh and when I toss the treat start moving up the line. Hmm….that should help. Now I see all the stuff when I was doing lateral distance. Yea. Maybe that was pushing her off the bag. I’ll clear out one side and then try lateral distance. Thanks!!
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantOh. ON that last one I did try the distance. My basement isn’t that wide so I just put it over to the one side. Hmm….a few times she caught on and then she didn’t. Ha,ha…I tried not to help her too much. This video is just some more parallel. I moved it back to the middle just to work on BOTH of us. lol. No distance here. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oa7MPKXKlbM

ParticipantOkay this is wk 3 Building Commitment Understanding: Parallel Path lines. I used that red bag. She knows that. I see you used the hat. Oh before we start. We had a problem this wk. Ruby got the diarrhea. Too many treat I think and she got into the cat food. LOL. So I am working on getting her straightened out and she can only have her kibble food for treats. And they are pretty little so they are hard for her to find when I toss them. But. We will do our best. 🙂 The first one is the parallel line. She does pretty good. It’s hard to line her up. How should I do that. She don’t know to “come around” like the older dogs do. And she’s fast. lol. I should rewatch your video. And….should I be tossing the cookie with the out side hand? OMG. I am so off with the clicker too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtQ3g6ViG_o

ParticipantOh great, yea. That is a continuation of where we are headed. Thanks! I’ll do this one.

ParticipantHi. Whats the turn and burn game? Looked for it. Can’t find it. Is that just running the other way when she comes around? Thanks. Happy New Year!!
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantAnd this is Wing wraps next step, standing. Hmm…not too bad. Actually I think this is the one where she is checking out the tag in the back of the kennel. And then I put the mesh on the sides. Then she kinda looked through sometimes at the other treats. lol. And then the pad inside came out. So then she had to check that out. Ha,ha…but once she gets in her rhythm she does really good. You can’t tell but the kennel is over a foot away from me. Awesome! I think she really likes this game. 🙂 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9Y8eZfX0lk

ParticipantOkay. We just did this. Wing wraps. Next steps. I have a couple of those kennels like you used. Worked good. Pretty much the same thing as the cone at first. Doesn’t really bother her too much. (I do a warmup with just the bowls usually so I get her going on the back and forth) Then I opened it and had it pretty close to me. Ha,ha!! At 1.21, she stops and looks through the mesh. Like, “I see you over there mom. What cha doin?” Ha,ha!! I giggled. If she ever does want to cut through the back side it is usually when she would be going right. Never left. Isn’t that something. Always right. But she never does. (One time she was checking out the tag that was hanging out the back) I am sitting back there real still and she usually figures it out for herself that she needs to go around. I did a big kitchen garbage can too yesterday. That went pretty good. No mesh to look through. LOL!!!! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cK857CXG5aM
