ParticipantHa,ha! Today I picked COVID gear with pockets!! Yea. I’m really rockin the sweats. But I really don’t care. lol!!! Might as well be comfy!
Okay. Get more selective. Only click the ones she backs up. not the ones she goes around and touches with her front first. Yea. Sometimes she does this alot. I’ve actually worked on it the last couple days and….I hate to say it, but I think she thinks it is boring. She kind of tires of it easy. Maybe I need to always do it first. Or play in between? Maybe not. She seems to just lolly-gags with this. Hmmmm… Okay. Yup, and adding the verbal how you said makes sense. Got it. Thanks!!

ParticipantDid some more of these. Backing up to mat. It is a few short video’s spliced together, just because I kept running out of treats!! lol. Didn’t have any pockets in my COVID attire. Ooo….this is going good. I forgot to do the hand mechanics, keep it by me and then fling the treat to her, till the towards the end of the video. Then I remembered. Dang. I did the ping ponging and got pretty far away from her at times. Oh and I did the 4 on for a warm up at the beginning. Yea, that helps. Oh. Question. How do I add the verbal on now? I want to do that. Just when she starts to back up I suppose? Thanks.

ParticipantTom Brady a GOAT? No I’m thinking it’s more Wayne Gretzky, Yea, Michael Jordan type. And Ken Jennnings from Jeopardy. lol Yea. She likes the plank. She thinks she is Hot-stuff. 😉 lol. Okay. Jump on in the middle and 360. Then hop off. Got it.
Yea. She likes the High five. I like it too. It’s in my “repetwa” sp? For when I am warming up my dogs to run. Both sides. Bonnie has the big mushy discs. I’ll do it there. Hmm…I don’t have those pods. Maybe I should get some. I eat Tuna, I could do that. OR! I have a cat. She is on a special diet with some canned food! That would work. Maybe glue some non slip on them. Hmm….. I have her up on the Peanut already. She can almost climb up by herself. Hmm…I bet I could do the Goat game with that. Yea. It’s been hard to get different places. Take it on the road. It was so easy when you had trials and could take the pup. But yea. Good Idea. I’ll take the stool along to different places when I can. Thanks!!Joni Steinbach
ParticipantWe did this too. More Goat games. (Greatest Of All Time. LOL. GOAT. They use that now for someone. That’s what I thought you meant at first. When I first saw it.) We Like doing these. Can you tell? She knows the stool and she popped right up there. But what I like is the enthusiasm you get with the toy play. She’s having so much fun. Treats and toys. What more could a puppy want?! She keeps wanting to give me the high five too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvcQpmT2ZCk

ParticipantYea. I like the way you just do like 3-4 treats and then stop and play. It seems if I go on too long she has that head explode and then she is done, or hard to get back. She will end it herself. And THAT’s not good. I need to keep sessions really short. Doing the tugging in between really helps! Or yea. Keeping the arousal level high.
Okay. So we did the plankarobics today. Good thing I made her a coat. She’s been using it a lot. lol. She knows this. I have been doing it since she was little. Had it out side at first. I did start it on the ground. It has been this high for quite awhile. She’s pretty good at turning on it. One thing that is different is that you have THEM jump off by themselves. yea. I like that in case they ever have to, they know how. Makes sense. I tried to let her come off by herself but I usually had to coax her. We can keep working on this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m1nWwotqwyA

ParticipantTugging helps break up the “unsure”. Like when something is moving or making a noise…..Got it! Makes sense! Cool. Like, “oh yay tug now!”. Ooo…bubble wrap. I can do that.
Okay, I’m marking it right. And hand mechanics. Got it.
Yea. I thought the mat as a destination helped. She picked that up right away. We’ve done some mat work, but never a back up to it. Start here with all 4 on for a warm-up. Got it. Ping -pong hard ones and easier ones. Yea. She won’t be 6 mons till NEXT YEAR. lol. 😉 On the 5th.Joni Steinbach
ParticipantBacking up to the matt. Kind of messy at first. But then at .48 she starts having some really nice ones. She backs out by herself to the matt. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Xd4N-Dr5z4

ParticipantHind end awareness, Backing up. I skipped the Plankarobics for now. We actually do have the plank from the DW set up in the garage. She has done it alot. I will get video when it is a little warmer out. 🙂 First time backing up hmm…a few good ones in there. I am trying so click when SHE backs up herself. Is that okay? Or should I throw the treat to get her to back up. You are right. When put the treat right behind your knees. They are GOing to back out. cool. Ha,ha…if you place the treat too…..far back. she came out and went around. Lesson learned. lol. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lo3Fw0i6pj4

ParticipantGoat games noise. Not real noisy but on the cement and it moves too. She had fun. She really gets this. I tried to be quieter when she is on the prop. LOL.
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantGo under stuff, in stuff with the goat games, wow yea you can do just about anything. She already goes up on that white stool I was sitting on. But I can do the Goat game, stool, tug, stool, tug with that. Fun. Under a chair. Got it. She goes under my legs when I am on the floor. Could do THAT too. And be quiet when She is thinking!! Wow. How did I get so lucky again? I love this puppy. She is awesome. I’m really enjoying this course. Thanks Tracy. Merry Christmas to you!!
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantTennis ball. Ooo…that would probably work cool under that mat. A little wild for the motion was okay. Got it. And yea! I’m trying to be fast! lol. Thanks!
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantHmm…I posted Goat games 2. But it went on it’s own thread. Do you see it? NOt sure why. I’ll still continue off of this one. Let me know if you can’t find Goat games 2. I will repost it here. I did something wrong I suppose. lol
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantOkay. Yea. this is cool. Teaches them to be excited but still thoughtful. Perfect! I redid the First Goat game. Just because….she is so much fun. lol. I moved to the basement. Which can….be a little more distracting that upstairs but she did okay. Wow! Right away she just put all 4 on the box. 🙂 What a good girl. I have done 4 on a stool she gets up on, but this surprised me. Right away! Good girl! And then we just did the back and forth with the toy a little and showed off a little with a “High Five”. Fun! And yea, I threw the treat while I switched and that worked better too. I noticed that in one of your next video’s. Hmm…I think I need to be a little quieter when she is offering the behaviors? Why do I always do that? Get too loud when she is thinking. Geez. Old habits. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m4_w6xKAdrY

ParticipantGoat Tricks 1, Baby Level. Ooo….this went pretty good. Yea. She has a nice balance of toy and treat rewards. She kept kind of looking for the toy till I hid it on the bench. I forgot my clicker so I was just doing the “Yes”. She gives me the two feet pretty easy. So we did that, then play, then that, then play. I waited her out for a back foot. But it didn’t come and I tried it one last time and then she gave me a back foot. Yay! So we ended on that and then with play. Boy she really likes this. She did’nt obsess on the cookies, she wanted tugg! I will do this tomorrow and try to get all four on the Jeopardy Box. LOL. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFuegRYaGmQ
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantGreat! Yea she fast and being stationary is the last thing on her mind. Good way to put it! lol. Ah…yea, she lost her train of thought after the cookie toss. yea. That’s exactly what happened. Okay. I’m going to move on to the GOAT. I watched all the video’s and see how they use the toy in between. Hmm…but in that you take the prop away when you are tugging. Maybe I will try both. See if she jumps right back in with two feet if I leave the bucket there. Thanks!!
