ParticipantHmm..I thought I posted these here last night. lol. Here are the #2 and #3 from the seminar. This was really fun. We got that BC from 3-4 down pat. lol. And then we did the wrap different ways towards the end. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0hMpIGoOvc

ParticipantWe’re back again! We were on vacation again. Lots of swimming in the lake for me and the dogs. Fun! Okay. Printed these out before I left. Wanted to do these from the Big lines and lead out seminar. They looked fun. And they are. This video, #1. The first one went good and then I had trouble with the BC. Finally I did get it though. Did the push that worked good. Hmm…didn’t try the FC though. I think I am going to be using the BC a lot. lol. Then we did that one with the tight turn to the tunnel. I gave her her “dig, dig, dig” That worked pretty good.

ParticipantTeeter Foundations. Angled Entries. She likes her teeter. She likes the treats. lol. I just keep it high for this. Not much bang. She catches on pretty fast. At .33 I did the RC and then lateral distance and sends and stuff. At 1.00 I lowered the end. That is about where we are at. Kinda surprised her. LOL. We work on the teeter Bonnies a lot. Just the teeter. This is the first time we have done angles.

ParticipantAnd here is a short video of the Tandem turn. Oh boy. You can see my head exploding. LOL. Good thing the dog is fine. I think I got it right? Cookie in Left hand for the closer ones, cookie in outside hand/right hand for farther away ones. It’s hard to keep forward and use the outside hand. Did I get it right??? lol. Or, you can kind of use both hands to get their attention too?

ParticipantHere is wk 5 Turns away. This is the lap turn. Went pretty good. Broke it down at first. It’s hard to remember to step back correctly. My legs don’t want to work sometimes the way I want. lol. Gotta really think about it. But I think I got it here. Did a little bit of the race track at the end. She really liked this. Like, “I got this mommy!” 🙂

ParticipantHere is a redue of the Lead outs. I tried to move sooner. They went a lot better. I thought the second BC at .15 was better than the first. The 2nd FC was a little late? Had an Ooops! at 1.01. lol. The Lead out push, I moved the jumps away from the fence so I could walk up the right side like in the pictures. That helped and I keep my left arm back didn’t close my shoulder till she was over 2 and stayed connected with her. Maybe I could have moved a little sooner on the last one. Trying to move when she comes OFF the first jump, but it is hard. LOL. Good job Rube! Oh, lots of “catches and Pizzas” in between runs.

ParticipantAnd here is the Lead out push. I did a lot of Catches and Pizza’s here too. That really works good with the long lead outs. .27 I did the full thing and she misses jump 2. Left too soon. Next one I waited just a little. 1.16 she drops the bar. I moved to late? She was over the bar. I thought maybe she was excited because I went and picked up her pool toy for a toy. She likes those. lol. But the last one I use the same toy and it went good. I think…I left just a hair sooner. That split second made a difference. Good job Rube!

ParticipantBack from the long wk end. Had a trial and camped. 🙂 Okay. Here is Lead outs! BC,FC and the throw back. I did break it down. Set her at the second jump a few times. That’s not all on the video. I did a lot of “catches”. She liked that. Shocked her sometimes. lol. The first BC we do from all the way back, I released her too soon. I needed to get out farther. So I did that. Then it went good. She just needs to sit there and wait! right? lol. FC went pretty good. Throw back, I did help her out a little and made sure she was getting that jump. Earlier when we did this I left too soon and she missed the second jump. This way she got it. With the big lead out I feel like I had plenty of time.

ParticipantWingin it. Rear crosses. This was hard. I am late with the cue again and she is not reading the rear. I am trying to cut really close behind her. At the beginning, I should have moved the orange jump closer. .28 not reading the rear. I did a few where I just turned her out of the tunnel, then did the rear. That helped. I did move the purple jump closer and that helped to get it. But that’s not really lesson. The lesson is turning them, right? Hmm….what am I doing here?
Joni Steinbach
ParticipantOkay. That last Wingin it video posted twice. Ignore one of them. They are the same. I don’t want to delete anything and have them both disappear or something. 🙂

ParticipantWingin it. Tunnels exits and entries. Hmmm…..I really have to move here. Sometimes she comes in on the Go!, Go!. And I am late with my cue’s. I’m not getting it in before the tunnel. I need to do this again and THINK! I don’t think sometimes. lol. Maybe I need less, “Tunnel, tunnels” here. Earlier “Tunnel, tunnel” and then my go! or turning cue. Geez. Thank science for video so I can see what the H*ll I’m doing. LOL!

ParticipantGreat feed back. Thanks. Take them to a rehab Vet for an assessment. Thats a good idea. I have a great Rehab Dr. I could do that. Yea. I’m not in no hurry. I don’t know why I start thinking I need to go up. OMG. we are so far off from trialing. That’s not even in my thoughts. lol. We are having fun doing this! Thanks again.

ParticipantOh now I see that at .06. When she missed #4. I “Closed” my shoulders forward too soon. Then she came with me. Boy she’s smart. And the others I stayed “open” till she was headed for the jump. That really helps. Timing is everything. I can run. Just keep upper body open.
Okay. Lateral send. Lead out-connect- then indicate- then release. Yea….with the other dogs I never release if they are looking at me, only if they were looking at the jump. Duh…..refresher course 101 here. lol. It’s no different for the puppy.
I have another question. I have been doing the accordian and big looping jumps at 12″. Do you think I should move the bar up to 12″ for these games or leave it at 8″? She will eventually be jumping 16″. Probably in no hurry. But I don’t want her to get too….used to the little jump. She’s 13 months now. Oh another question. Do you always get x-rays for bone closure or just go by thier age. I’ve never gotten them with mine. Sports sister at the time got them after a year, so I just figured Sport was good too. With Jedi I guess I just waited to jump higher too. Thanks.

ParticipantSerpentines. Last page, More Challenge and really hard. First one. That went pretty good too. I tried to leave right away went she hit the tunnel. Second one Really hard. I started out with them angled a little and gradually moved them into a serp as I went along. By the end they are pretty much at a straight serp. Once again trouble with the lateral send. We’ll work on that. Otherwise it went good. We are becoming a team. LOL.
