ParticipantI had to think about TW for a minute……;) SO much easier than spelling out Threadle Wrap each time!!
Played with Pop Outs 2 and 3 yesterday…these are so MUCH fun!!! Hope you don’t mind but I used Pop Out 2 with some of my students this week and asked them all to come up with 2 different ways to do it. They had a blast with it and one of them came up with a way I never thought of!
First video – Pop Out 2 with the way I first thought to do it. Warmed up our TW and then one and done x2. Frequently we can do the one and done but mess something up when we do it a second time. The line to the TW at 6 made for a really smooth TW.
Second video was at the end of the day – Pop Out 2 3 different ways š The Backside Wrap at 6 was one of my students idea. Timed from over the bar at 3 to breaking the plane of the tunnel at 7.
Last video is Pop Out 3, tried it both ways around the wing at 8. To the left made a nice line to 9 but not as nice to 10, and it was a longer dog path. To the right wasn’t as nice a line to 9 but it was a great line to 10…and overall a lot faster š
I just LOVE geeking out with these!!! We must be getting close to the end of camp, seems like I read somewhere that last day for posting is soon. Just wanted to say thanks for another wonderful Camp. Sly and I both learn a lot and have fun doing it!

ParticipantPop Out 1 from the Standard Course. First one was one and done š I wanted to try it with a Threadle wrap at 8, just to see if I could. Had to do some āreview/practiceā with the Threadle wrap but we got it! Finished up with a second rep of my first choice on how to do this sequence, blind between 7 and 8. I was curious about which was faster so I looked at time from over #6 jump to entry of weaves. The 1st blind was faster than the second rep with the blind by .2 seconds. I think the execution/timing of the first one was just a bit cleaner. Both were faster than the Threadle wrapā¦.and I thought my execution/timing on it was pretty good. Fun sequence š

ParticipantThe good thing about sitting in the parking lot while your husband is with the eye doctor because āhisā BMD wacked him in the eye with her paw is you find the time to edit videos!
Jumping Pop Out 2. The lead out is still a bit of a work in progress but itās coming š Last rep was to clean up the wrap at jump 4
Pop Out 3
Heās got a question between the blue and yellow jumpsā¦.at the last minute (after turning off the lights to leave) I decided to do one more rep really focusing on verbal timing to see if I could answer his question.

Participant………..you were extending the hand toward the jump but it looked like a throwback wrap cue, so he wrapped (like at :25).
I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why he turned that way……..but as soon as I read your comment and rewatched the video it was like “well of course that’s what he’s thinking, cause that’s what I was cueing!”So, we played with this again today, two short sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I wanted to focus on my hands. First session was one hand but working on the show him the hand and the check mark/J motion. Second session was both hands, sort of like the old OMD tandem turn, sort of…..
I think the 2 hands is our answer! I don’t use 2 hands for anything else that I can think of so it’s a unique look. Need some practice but I think this is going to work for us. Thoughts?

ParticipantGreat feedback, as always, thanks! Quick session this morning trying to understand and apply itā¦. Seems like the key for me right now is Iāve got to see that he is past meā¦.and bigger arms are definitely clearer! Thanks again!

ParticipantLots of regrouping and watching video trying to figure out what was happening with this session. š¤ Seemed like I had Sly confused enough that he started guessing? I decided to try to work this through with 3 options at the orange jumpā¦.turn right, turn left and a backside. Last rep was after I had watch reps of each that went well and ones that didnāt. Tried to be very precise and we got it but Iām not sure I could duplicate it.

ParticipantSwitch Away to a Layer…the first sequence. This is actually our 3rd session with this exercise, maybe 4th. A skill and a verbal that I haven’t previously taught and am really glad that it’s part of camp this year. It’s one that’s been “on the list” for awhile, now it’s at the top š The layer is a skill we have, it’s the switch away that we didn’t.
I was going to spend the time today editing all the previous video; and there’s a lot of editing that needed to be done as there was a lot of stuff that I worked through, lots of stopping and watching video, preplaced toys, etc. etc. but instead I decided to start fresh with where we are right now.
So very sorry that you have lost VooDoo. One of the things for sure is that no matter how long they are with us it is never long enough.

ParticipantPopOut 3 from Package 3ās Standard Course. Walked it with the idea of one and done, focus on connections and patience/not backing up. First rep starting with the six weaves, 2nd rep there was a fast line coming off the Aframe coming into the weaves. I wanted to see if I could duplicate the handling when it was obstacles 7 toā¦. Instead of 1 toā¦
Iāve got a couple other PopOuts that we played with yesterday and still want to review the times on the 2 different ways of handling PopOut 6. Hopefully Iāll get to those in the next day or soā¦.We struggled with one of the other PopOuts, definitely gonna need some feedback on that one!

ParticipantBlinds are still a little late ā¹ļø but I think the connection was better, but still needs a little more workā¦.getting closer though š

ParticipantPop Out 5 from the Standard Courseā¦
I played with turning to the right at jump 3 in Pop Out 6. It was āeasyā to handle, felt like quite a bit longer distance than doing it with a wrap to the left. Need to edit the video and then compare times. I think I need to time from Jump 2 to either 5 or 6 to get the whole picture on the time difference?

ParticipantBlinds and a frontā¦. Cooler weather and treats a little further away. Once again, this was the whole session.

ParticipantWrapsā¦..
This was the whole session with treat restocking cut out. Interesting how she starts to fade pretty early in the session. Thinking about why that might be I thought of 3 things that may have contributedā¦..the exercise is harder, requires more focus and more physically difficult jumping at the wrap; as much as she likes to tug I think it is a physically tiring thing for her and then there was a bag of treats on a shelf just outside of camera view. Whoa, in hindsight I asked for a lot of hard stuffā¦.good girlie ā¤ļø

ParticipantTwo and done š
Pop Out 6 from the Package 3 Standard course. I couldnāt really think of another way to handle this one.

ParticipantOne last session with the circle wrapā¦.picked him up closer to the tunnel so I could better manage my motion and space⦠these felt like our best ones yet š
