Participant………..you were extending the hand toward the jump but it looked like a throwback wrap cue, so he wrapped (like at :25).
I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why he turned that way……..but as soon as I read your comment and rewatched the video it was like “well of course that’s what he’s thinking, cause that’s what I was cueing!”So, we played with this again today, two short sessions one in the morning and one in the afternoon. I wanted to focus on my hands. First session was one hand but working on the show him the hand and the check mark/J motion. Second session was both hands, sort of like the old OMD tandem turn, sort of…..
I think the 2 hands is our answer! I don’t use 2 hands for anything else that I can think of so it’s a unique look. Need some practice but I think this is going to work for us. Thoughts?

ParticipantGreat feedback, as always, thanks! Quick session this morning trying to understand and apply it…. Seems like the key for me right now is I’ve got to see that he is past me….and bigger arms are definitely clearer! Thanks again!

ParticipantLots of regrouping and watching video trying to figure out what was happening with this session. 🤔 Seemed like I had Sly confused enough that he started guessing? I decided to try to work this through with 3 options at the orange jump….turn right, turn left and a backside. Last rep was after I had watch reps of each that went well and ones that didn’t. Tried to be very precise and we got it but I’m not sure I could duplicate it.

ParticipantSwitch Away to a Layer…the first sequence. This is actually our 3rd session with this exercise, maybe 4th. A skill and a verbal that I haven’t previously taught and am really glad that it’s part of camp this year. It’s one that’s been “on the list” for awhile, now it’s at the top 🙂 The layer is a skill we have, it’s the switch away that we didn’t.
I was going to spend the time today editing all the previous video; and there’s a lot of editing that needed to be done as there was a lot of stuff that I worked through, lots of stopping and watching video, preplaced toys, etc. etc. but instead I decided to start fresh with where we are right now.
So very sorry that you have lost VooDoo. One of the things for sure is that no matter how long they are with us it is never long enough.

ParticipantPopOut 3 from Package 3’s Standard Course. Walked it with the idea of one and done, focus on connections and patience/not backing up. First rep starting with the six weaves, 2nd rep there was a fast line coming off the Aframe coming into the weaves. I wanted to see if I could duplicate the handling when it was obstacles 7 to…. Instead of 1 to…
I’ve got a couple other PopOuts that we played with yesterday and still want to review the times on the 2 different ways of handling PopOut 6. Hopefully I’ll get to those in the next day or so….We struggled with one of the other PopOuts, definitely gonna need some feedback on that one!

ParticipantBlinds are still a little late ☹️ but I think the connection was better, but still needs a little more work….getting closer though 😊

ParticipantPop Out 5 from the Standard Course…
I played with turning to the right at jump 3 in Pop Out 6. It was “easy” to handle, felt like quite a bit longer distance than doing it with a wrap to the left. Need to edit the video and then compare times. I think I need to time from Jump 2 to either 5 or 6 to get the whole picture on the time difference?

ParticipantBlinds and a front…. Cooler weather and treats a little further away. Once again, this was the whole session.

ParticipantWraps…..
This was the whole session with treat restocking cut out. Interesting how she starts to fade pretty early in the session. Thinking about why that might be I thought of 3 things that may have contributed…..the exercise is harder, requires more focus and more physically difficult jumping at the wrap; as much as she likes to tug I think it is a physically tiring thing for her and then there was a bag of treats on a shelf just outside of camera view. Whoa, in hindsight I asked for a lot of hard stuff….good girlie ❤️

ParticipantTwo and done 🙄
Pop Out 6 from the Package 3 Standard course. I couldn’t really think of another way to handle this one.

ParticipantOne last session with the circle wrap….picked him up closer to the tunnel so I could better manage my motion and space… these felt like our best ones yet 😊

ParticipantPop Outs 2 and 3 from the Package 2 Jumpers Course. I treated Pop Out 3 like “real life” – out on leash, no rewards on me, get it done. Done! Chose to do this with this one because I only really saw one way to handle it and it was all with skills that we “have” so let’s do it “for real”.
Pop Out 2 on the other hand was more for training. Wanted to try it a couple of different ways and 4 to 9 was interesting!

ParticipantI definitely think it’s a combination of all of the above 🙂 What I do know for sure is that there is a level of mental and physical difficulty that (so far at least) there is no amount of short breaks, rewards for her to be able to be fully engaged for more than 2 or 3 reps. Her first tell is that she just can’t hold her sit. It’s like the amount of effort that she has to put in just completely wears her out. I do think I am starting to see some of that change as she is getting older, but she is still mentally (and physically) such a pup 🙂
All that said she liked One-Step Sends almost as much as me being lazy 🙂
