ParticipantSly says faster is more fun 😊 Feels like he is still sorting out his footwork, especially collecting with the additional speed for entry. A couple more sessions like this to let him really solidify his rhythm?

ParticipantOh I was consistent, but I think I was rushing the drop…. 3, 2, 1, drop, Target Cue instead of 3, 2, 1, Target Cue, then drop. You’re right in that he clearly figured out the rhythm, even if it wasn’t the right order 🤪 good boy 😊❤️
Got it! Ball, tug, something all the way back to the tunnel….
One question, I’ve been sort of varying the warmup game before the 2 Warm up Regular Elevators. Sometimes we do Bang Game and sometimes we do some Mountain Climbers. Is that OK or should I make the whole session totally predictable at this point? Does that question make sense?
And I go back and forth on keeping the target cue in addition to the teeter cue. As you said… we’ll figure it out… whatever works for him. 😊

ParticipantOh Lord, I so messed up the countdown to the drop in these! Good thing he’s figured out whatever it is that I do so that he knows the drop is coming cuz it sure wasn’t 3, 2, 1 feet and then drop 🤪🤪😳🤪 I do plan to have a verbal teeter cue so started adding it here. Ultimately I’d really like to just have the teeter cue and drop the target cue (feet) I’m guessing that you’ve figured out that verbals are not my strong suit. This is really feeling like it’s coming together 😊❤️😊

ParticipantLots of things I like about this session too! This is our 2nd session with 6 poles, not quite all the way closed but very close. He definitely likes throwing the ball a LOT better than the MM and I think for the most part my throws were close to timely although I do see a slight glance towards me several times. He’s starting to really get a feel for his footwork too! I’m thinking our next session is same setup with entries from the other side and then get the 6 poles closed up all the way?

ParticipantMore running = more fun as far as Sly is concerned. Warmed up with a few “traditional” elevators that I didn’t include in the video and then went straight to tunnels 😊 And yes, lots of chase the ball in the last session and in this one.

ParticipantWarmed up with just a few Bang Games and then went right to sending around a wing. You’re right in that he really likes it better if he can run. I tried to catch the board earlier so it was higher. Lots of things that I really liked about this session…. more drive right to the very end, no dancing feet and although it’s not real visible with the camera position I think he just had a better weight shift for the ride down. 😊
Kim Tees
ParticipantNot sure what happened with the sound on the last one but clearly from the first two reps on this one you should never assume my markers are perfect 😳 Although they were pretty good for the wing wrap!!
In hindsight I did way too many reps…and the MM is only mildly rewarding…too damn slow and 3 kibble isn’t much of a reward in his opinion. I think I need to figure out how to make this more fun.

ParticipantOMG…. there was clearly a reason my parents made me take piano lessons and didn’t let me take dance lessons!!! WAY too many things for me to remember and then execute in this one 🤪🤪🤪 The “dancing feet” at the end of the board kind of through me off… it felt like as soon as the treats were gone he wanted to back away from the end of the board and something in my brain went wacko and I started double counting. By the end of the session I got it together a little better 😊 Thank goodness that for the most part as long as he gets food he’s happy to keep playing!

ParticipantStarted adding more angle to poles 3 and 4……

ParticipantElevators on “home turf” – no target, some motion and changed my “mechanics” just a little bit to get him all the way to the end of the board as you suggested.
And then we got to go “on the road” this afternoon. 🙂 A vet appointment took me right by a friend’s house with an “other than Max200” teeter. Although I wasn’t nearly as well prepared…forgot my target and treats so bought a bag of Pill Pockets from the vet to use as treats :0 Good for us to work outdoors and as you can see he was definitely a bit distracted but overall I was really pleased. We definitely will be adding regular road trips to the schedule 🙂

ParticipantI eventually remembered to move!

ParticipantOne of the good things about living in the “agility wasteland” of Maine is that anyone who is even a little serious about the sport has their own equipment 🙂 I think I know of at least 6 seesaws within an hour of the house. The closest is probably also the “hardest” – outside, next to a road and today was windy as all get out. I came prepared…Pet Fresh and DD hash browns. Had hoped to be able to get him to focus enough to just get some solid sits and downs. But we got this!!!!! 🙂

ParticipantWe’ve been doing short sessions with sends, movement, etc. and the wide channel of 12 for breakfast several days a week….3 or 4 reps and that’s it. Started to do a little with closing up the channel with 6, no video, handler technically challenged that day 🙁 One of my concerns with the one session we did starting to close up the channels was that his striding was “all over the place” so I’ve actually been wanting to do that session again and get video this time for you to take a look at. Well it rained today so I “made” the time to catch up on all the games videos and after watching the one about Troubleshooting striding issues I decided to get my s___ together, watched all the 2×2 track videos and incorporate some 2x2s in with the channel training. Short session that introduced the 2x2s…and I think because of the channel work he was pretty quick to pick up “entries” on the 2x2s so we quickly went to angles on the 2 poles. I thought it was pretty interesting how he’s already figuring out how the “hopping” movement. 🙂

ParticipantThanks Kristie! He is a lot of fun. You and Keiko are looking great!

ParticipantFading the target with the Bang Game…..
Some Uphills to Downhills to Target Position with me moving (put the target back for these) and also some Elevators with me moving (kept the target for these too). I tried to remember to keep moving past his stop and also do everything from both sides. He was a LOT less comfortable jumping up on the board for the Elevators from my left side than from my right?
