Oh he’s going to be MUCH happier the more he gets to run!!! I’ve got a short, 6′ tunnel, could I do tunnel to the teeter with him? My Teach It is supposed to arrive on Tuesday, can’t wait for it to get here now.

We played with the teeter between 2 tables yesterday….well between a table and the stand. Figured I’d just review back and forth with a little motion and wait for going downhill until the I got the Teach It.

We’ll play with some more end position and backing up into his end position tomorrow. Hope you had a nice weekend.

Mountain Climbers with just a little tip…and then just a little bit more. 2 short sessions from yesterday. My Teach It also shipped yesterday 🙂 Should be here early next week – yeah!!!

I liked most of both of these sessions….. 🙂 Definitely thinking less about the tip 🙂 But sometimes he sort of “crouches” as he nears the end of the board, thoughts? I’m wondering if he’s concerned about the movement and rattle at the end with the current device.

Since my Teach It should be here next week I think we’ll just put the Mountain Climbers aside until it gets here, plenty to play with with his end position and backing up into it 🙂

    Have a great weekend!

No Tracy..sorry for MY confusion 🙂 I started all this by registering for a class I’d already taken :0 Your math looks good to me…thank you SO much!!!! My PayPal email is the same as the one I use for everything else. Thanks again. Looking forward to adding weaves to our list of things to play with!!!

And I’m with you with the RDW training….boy is that a hard concept for the dogs, especially when there’s any speed added in!!! But lots of treats so Sly’s like yeah…I’m in!

    Hi Tracy,
Yes, I can just move the tip-it thingy more towards the center of the teeter so that the board has less tip and then move it a little further out to get a little more tip without changing the position of the cross bar. Easy, peasy. That said…I couldn’t resist and I just ordered one of the ones like yours…hell, call it a business expense, right? 🙂 I really like the reward plate attached to it rather than the end of the teeter! Can’t wait for it to arrive.

Question….actually 2. Should my training goal be to “add tip” in such small increments that he almost doesn’t even notice?

And 2nd question….. I haven’t seen the refund for the MaxPup class that I signed up for that I had already done…..but I’ve been thinking about it and I’m dieing that I didn’t sign up for weaves too. I was (and still am a little bit) concerned that with teeters and Katarina’s RC class that adding weaves to the mix as well would be too much but I’ve started to work with him on them a little bit already and I’m thinking if I’m going to start training them I’d much prefer to do it in “class” with your feedback. SO….would it be possible to not refund the $ for the MaxPup class and just enroll Sly and I in weaves? I think I’ll still owe you some $. If I remember correctly MaxPup was only $175 and Weaves is $225? Let me know ….and I totally understand if that doesn’t work for you. Have a great evening!

Two short sessions yesterday….one in the morning, the other in the afternoon.

Mountain Climbers. We haven’t done this for a month or more so I went back to “the beginning” and did a couple of quick reps with no motion, which he nailed after the first rep, then went to about an 1″ of tip. He definitely is aware of the motion although got more comfortable. I need a different reward – one that will stay on the tray better!!! Or maybe I’ll invest in one of the devices you use. I like how the tray stays flat, instead of moves with the seesaw. Much better design!!!

And then some end position on a plank in the afternoon.

Thanks Tracey. Sly got neutered this week so taking a bit of training break. See you for teeters!!! Until then, take care and stay well

    Hi Tracy,
    That’s great news about HotShot!!!!

Yeah…..my confusion, that’s what happens when I try to do stuff in a hurry! I read enough to know it wasn’t the current MaxPup class but not enough to put it together that it was the 2nd one. So yeah, I probably don’t want to do it again…well actually I do 🙂 There’s been SO much good info in all the MaxPup classes and so many games that we either never got to or would definitely benefit from doing again but yeah, if you are OK refunding that one that would be great. If it’s easier for you to just “keep it on account” I’m OK with that too as I’m sure there will be many more classes that Sly and I are going to want to do. Whatever is easiest for you is fine by me.

Yes, he definitely wondered what in the world was going on when I wasn’t moving at all 🙂 I kinda like that though as he’s clearly aware of my motion and seems to respond nicely…..ruh-roh, more pressure on me to do it right 🙂 I’ll give this game a go from the other side.

And can you remind me what our last date for posting video is? I can’t believe this class is almost over.

Hey! We are still here! Hate it when life gets in the way of my dog training fun. Played with the Deceleration Game today. Hope all is well. How’s HotShot doing?

Hope you’re staying warm! Coldest few days for us so far this year and they’re predicting real snow on Tuesday. 🙁

You are not kidding when you say the ZigZag grid is difficult. I played with it with Mags who might just be one of the nicest/smartest jumping dogs I’ve ever known and it was hard for her. She’s a 22″ USDAA jumper and I had her start at 14…..kept lowering until we were at 10″ before she was really “comfortable” with it. Giving Sly a little bit of a break from it and then we’ll play with it again.

Played with Lap Turns this morning. I tried to incorporate all your suggestions…..got most of them but still need to work on “me” some more! For Sly I added the complexity of a bar for him to see and figure out what it looks like when he should come to me and what it looks like when he should take the jump “normal”. Definitely made him think, but I thought he figured it out pretty nicely 🙂 Tried to keep the rest of it simple with just a come to me and chase the ball away. The one thing that I didn’t feel myself doing when I was doing this but I saw it when I edited the video was I wasn’t stepping back when I turned him away….did it all with my hand. When I learned these way back when I was taught to back up into them and I think that allowed me to move and “finish” with that backward step as part of turning him away. Not backing up into it is definitely getting a really tight turn but do I need to “reteach” myself to take that one step back with the dogside leg as part of the turn away? Does that question make sense?

    Hi Tracy,
I think you missed my last post. It looks like it was loading at the exact same time as you were responding to posts and that it ended up getting missed. No worries….didn’t get to play today anyway..had to “adult” 🙁 But hoping to play tomorrow!!!!! 🙂

Continuing with the Zig Zags grid…. Should I put a short bar on both jumps? And I think some of the variability comes from where I set him up. I’m setting him close to the first bar so he’s got to come off his rear and I’m setting him up more or less parallel to that bar but I’m not sure where along the length of the bar? I assume for this game it should always be the same place? Mid-bar? Or closer to the take off wing? Does that question make sense?

And we also played with Turn Aways sometime in the last couple of days.

No idea why I stopped moving through the serp…duh??? But he is figuring out the jumping 🙂 And bang game is going well…using his MM to help him focus forward. I’ll post video next week sometime 🙂

I liked this session 😊. He got to chase his favorite ball a few times between each rep!
