ParticipantOh yeah… love the food tray with the Teach It π I think backing up in general isnβt comfortable for him….I see lots of back up for breakfast in our future for a little while π
Kim Tees
ParticipantAnother long one but again I thought it was important for you to see the in between. Took me few reps to remember to use the cookie to line him up vs. just as a reward for leaving the MM and returning to me…. duh !?! I didnβt add any motion yet as I was so focused on the MM and line up cookies π€ͺ. I think this is going to work…. 1 click, I run in and manually add cookies for jackpots and line up cookies when he returns and we setup for the next rep – yeah!!

ParticipantDownhill………..
And then we did a little backing up on to the seesaw, first with it on the ground and then with just a little motion. I left out 3 or 4 attempts where he backed up all sorts of sideways before I added the long jump boards. This is hard for him. I’ve done a little bit of backing up on to a Fit Paws disc as you suggested. We’ve been doing it for breakfast since the disc is at the house. Probably need to do a bunch of that. Hope you had a nice weekend.

ParticipantThanks Tracy, totally makes sense.
One question, when you do this……”and my food driven dogs still think the MM is better LOL! So it is down the poles to the MM, then I call the dog back (my cue for Hot Sauce to come line up is βice cream!β) and then she gets a bite of the cheese during the line up β then back down the poles, and so on.”
Is the dog still getting a reward from the MM and then back to you for the better reward or are they not getting a reward out of the MM at all, just when they come back to you? Are you just using it as a “target”? And if so are you still clicking with the MM controller, or maybe just a regular clicker?
We played a little bit yesterday while doing some RDW training with just not doing multiple clicks for a jackpot…..and running in behind him and adding in some more treats he was already getting the idea that one click and that was going to be all unless I was standing there π

ParticipantGot home yesterday afternoon and had a few minutes to play…. picked up with where we left off with some Mountain Climbers and then added another inch of drop. And I noticed the same thing about a rattle when the seesaw hit the Teach It so put a little piece of carpet between the tray mount and the mounting bar to stop it. π

ParticipantThis one is really long….I tried to edit as much as I could but I wanted you to see the in between each rep. Usually heβs more excited over this toy than he is anything else including the MM so I opted for it instead of food…. but I think Iβve created an MM obsession π³ He does this same thing with our RDW training… stands there and stares at it like he can will it to spit out more food! In hindsight I think I created this by multiple βclicksβ for jackpots… does that make sense? I think heβs not sure if there might not be just one more if he waits? Anyway, I tried to interrupt the staring… let me know what you think? On the other hand… he was able to nail his 3 to 5 entries πππ
Unfortunately Iβm dropping off the face of the planet until the end of the week. On my way to FL to help with some stuff with my Mom. All goes well should be home on Friday. See ya then!

ParticipantOMG! I already love the Teach It!!!! Finally got to play with it today. Kinda where we left off the last time, about 1″ of drop, didn’t really add any new challenges, just wanted to make sure he was comfortable with the new “toy” π
We also did a little backing up today. Last few reps of a pretty short session this afternoon.
Kim Tees
ParticipantSounds like a plan! We’ll work with both the 2x2s and the channels and see where it goes. Here’s some channels this afternoon. As I mentioned, we’ve done some previous intro to channels stuff but with wires, so here’s without. He did good π The boy does love his Manners Minder!
Kim Tees
ParticipantChange of pace…..Backing up on a board and a little more end position work on the flat board. Definitely “getting it” π

ParticipantOh he’s going to be MUCH happier the more he gets to run!!! I’ve got a short, 6′ tunnel, could I do tunnel to the teeter with him? My Teach It is supposed to arrive on Tuesday, can’t wait for it to get here now.
We played with the teeter between 2 tables yesterday….well between a table and the stand. Figured I’d just review back and forth with a little motion and wait for going downhill until the I got the Teach It.
We’ll play with some more end position and backing up into his end position tomorrow. Hope you had a nice weekend.

ParticipantMountain Climbers with just a little tip…and then just a little bit more. 2 short sessions from yesterday. My Teach It also shipped yesterday π Should be here early next week – yeah!!!
I liked most of both of these sessions….. π Definitely thinking less about the tip π But sometimes he sort of “crouches” as he nears the end of the board, thoughts? I’m wondering if he’s concerned about the movement and rattle at the end with the current device.
Since my Teach It should be here next week I think we’ll just put the Mountain Climbers aside until it gets here, plenty to play with with his end position and backing up into it π
Have a great weekend!
Kim Tees
ParticipantAll good π Thank you!
Kim Tees
ParticipantNo Tracy..sorry for MY confusion π I started all this by registering for a class I’d already taken :0 Your math looks good to me…thank you SO much!!!! My PayPal email is the same as the one I use for everything else. Thanks again. Looking forward to adding weaves to our list of things to play with!!!
And I’m with you with the RDW training….boy is that a hard concept for the dogs, especially when there’s any speed added in!!! But lots of treats so Sly’s like yeah…I’m in!
Kim Tees
ParticipantHi Tracy,
Yes, I can just move the tip-it thingy more towards the center of the teeter so that the board has less tip and then move it a little further out to get a little more tip without changing the position of the cross bar. Easy, peasy. That said…I couldn’t resist and I just ordered one of the ones like yours…hell, call it a business expense, right? π I really like the reward plate attached to it rather than the end of the teeter! Can’t wait for it to arrive.Question….actually 2. Should my training goal be to “add tip” in such small increments that he almost doesn’t even notice?
And 2nd question….. I haven’t seen the refund for the MaxPup class that I signed up for that I had already done…..but I’ve been thinking about it and I’m dieing that I didn’t sign up for weaves too. I was (and still am a little bit) concerned that with teeters and Katarina’s RC class that adding weaves to the mix as well would be too much but I’ve started to work with him on them a little bit already and I’m thinking if I’m going to start training them I’d much prefer to do it in “class” with your feedback. SO….would it be possible to not refund the $ for the MaxPup class and just enroll Sly and I in weaves? I think I’ll still owe you some $. If I remember correctly MaxPup was only $175 and Weaves is $225? Let me know ….and I totally understand if that doesn’t work for you. Have a great evening!
