Finally made the time to edit a bunch of videos from the last few days…..

First one….some downhills…which we haven’t done for awhile…just one short session today. The last one is the best πŸ™‚ The boy does love his tennis ball!

And then some Uphills…..highlights from a bunch short sessions since Friday. I’ve spent a good part of 3 of the last 4 days at the Training Center and was able to just leave the seesaw setup with the Teach It so several of these were one or two and then done….and then we’d do another few a couple hours later and a couple of longer sessions somewhere in there as well.

and this last video is our latest attempt to find a setup that I think will work for the Mountain Climbers 3 Game

I’m thinking that I’m going to take a break from the Uphills and Downhills for a bit and focus on helping him learn/get comfortable shifting his weight back. It looks to me like he’s really working hard to maintain his balance as the drop on the Mountain Climbers gets to be more and more. I don’t think he’s looking so much for the tip like he was when we first started but he really is trying to figure out the balance. I tried a bunch of different ideas for something to use for the end position in the Mountain Climbers 3 game and I think this last one might work. It’ll probably be Friday or Saturday before I get a chance to try it out with a board…keep your fingers crossed. One the things this has shown me is that he really doesn’t know how to rock his weight back at all so we’ve been playing with some fold back downs and thus the fold back downs on the Bosu. Anyway…guess we’ll see where this all goes the next few days. Thoughts? Oh yeah….one other thing I did with the Uphills and Downhills is a “chase the ball” between each rep….I cut these and the rewarding at the end of the seesaw out of the video….otherwise this would’ve been one REALLY long video!!! The boy is going to need to go on a diet after this class is over πŸ™‚

And we’ll play some end position games again πŸ™‚ So many games, so little time πŸ™‚

He’s for the most part fine with 12 but it’s interesting how if he’s at all unsure you can see him really start to think and doubt what he’s supposed to do. I’m thinking that the soft side entries aren’t quite as “solid” yet and I took for granted how well he had done with them the last time and didn’t pay enough attention to making sure the first was one he was definitely going to get right…..took him a bit to regain his confidence…..bad trainer, good boy!

And I forgot all about moving on the tougher angles….which I think he could’ve handled on the wrap entries but not so sure about on the soft sides. And a question….when I do stretch our skill level with moving sooner on those entries would you got back to doing those with just 4 or 6 poles?

And a little bit of Morning Weaves ….. I liked the setup cookies, I remembered to move, but my clicks were all over the place. Needed that 2nd cup of coffee! Have a great weekend!

OMG!! You’d love my backseat then πŸ€ͺ It’s also how I justify have 2 Manners Minders 😊….. don’t think I can justify 2 seesaws πŸ€”. Yes, all makes perfect sense. Should I start to play with the Mountain Climbers 3 game from the 2nd set of games? That one looks like a really good one for helping him learn/get comfortable shifting his weight back.

I for the most part LOVE having the Training Center but damn….I always end up with stuff at home that I want here and vice versa! So…since the inflatable was at home I thought I’d just give a quick try to see how he was backing up on the teeter….. and he did great I thought! Just a smidge of motion and it didn’t seem to bother him at all…other than the time there was some significant noise where you can see him look around like “what was that?” I’m trying to reward in position to get a weight shift, seems like he’s still a lot on his front? Thoughts?

And then we did a little end position on the plank…..Sly REALLY likes ‘Think less, Teeter more”

Oh yeah… love the food tray with the Teach It 😊 I think backing up in general isn’t comfortable for him….I see lots of back up for breakfast in our future for a little while πŸ‘

Another long one but again I thought it was important for you to see the in between. Took me few reps to remember to use the cookie to line him up vs. just as a reward for leaving the MM and returning to me…. duh !?! I didn’t add any motion yet as I was so focused on the MM and line up cookies πŸ€ͺ. I think this is going to work…. 1 click, I run in and manually add cookies for jackpots and line up cookies when he returns and we setup for the next rep – yeah!!

    Downhill………..

And then we did a little backing up on to the seesaw, first with it on the ground and then with just a little motion. I left out 3 or 4 attempts where he backed up all sorts of sideways before I added the long jump boards. This is hard for him. I’ve done a little bit of backing up on to a Fit Paws disc as you suggested. We’ve been doing it for breakfast since the disc is at the house. Probably need to do a bunch of that. Hope you had a nice weekend.

    Thanks Tracy, totally makes sense.

One question, when you do this……”and my food driven dogs still think the MM is better LOL! So it is down the poles to the MM, then I call the dog back (my cue for Hot Sauce to come line up is β€œice cream!”) and then she gets a bite of the cheese during the line up – then back down the poles, and so on.”

Is the dog still getting a reward from the MM and then back to you for the better reward or are they not getting a reward out of the MM at all, just when they come back to you? Are you just using it as a “target”? And if so are you still clicking with the MM controller, or maybe just a regular clicker?

We played a little bit yesterday while doing some RDW training with just not doing multiple clicks for a jackpot…..and running in behind him and adding in some more treats he was already getting the idea that one click and that was going to be all unless I was standing there πŸ™‚

Got home yesterday afternoon and had a few minutes to play…. picked up with where we left off with some Mountain Climbers and then added another inch of drop. And I noticed the same thing about a rattle when the seesaw hit the Teach It so put a little piece of carpet between the tray mount and the mounting bar to stop it. 😊

This one is really long….I tried to edit as much as I could but I wanted you to see the in between each rep. Usually he’s more excited over this toy than he is anything else including the MM so I opted for it instead of food…. but I think I’ve created an MM obsession 😳 He does this same thing with our RDW training… stands there and stares at it like he can will it to spit out more food! In hindsight I think I created this by multiple β€œclicks” for jackpots… does that make sense? I think he’s not sure if there might not be just one more if he waits? Anyway, I tried to interrupt the staring… let me know what you think? On the other hand… he was able to nail his 3 to 5 entries 😊😊😊

Unfortunately I’m dropping off the face of the planet until the end of the week. On my way to FL to help with some stuff with my Mom. All goes well should be home on Friday. See ya then!

OMG! I already love the Teach It!!!! Finally got to play with it today. Kinda where we left off the last time, about 1″ of drop, didn’t really add any new challenges, just wanted to make sure he was comfortable with the new “toy” πŸ™‚

We also did a little backing up today. Last few reps of a pretty short session this afternoon.

Sounds like a plan! We’ll work with both the 2x2s and the channels and see where it goes. Here’s some channels this afternoon. As I mentioned, we’ve done some previous intro to channels stuff but with wires, so here’s without. He did good πŸ™‚ The boy does love his Manners Minder!
