    Hi,

The ladders in the previous video were at 5ft. These are at 6. We’ve been working the tunnel exercise. I did start with just one jump close to the tunnel. He tends not to take the second jump. I throw the toy to keep him on the line. The bend sequence was from two days ago.

    Hi,

Here’s some ladder work. He had a very exercise filled day prior to this. I tried a couple with me moving too just to see.

    Hi,

Here’s another attempt at the spins. Hoping I was moving forward out of them. Maybe I need to travel a little more out of them? I’ll have to add the opposite arm in.

On Serps, I typically use my opposite arm with Flurry. Trying to figure out if I do two different things with each dog? I use that opposite arm anytime I want Flurry to come in and then go out.

I recorded these before I read your response. On the Minnie Pinnie on pulled them out a little. He’s still trotting, so I moved them in so the distance was shorter. He did a couple of single strides, but no bouncing yet. Raise the bar so he needs to put in more effort? I did that to the set point this morning by 4 inches, and he really started to think and not be so bored, but then he knocked the bar twice out of three. He got it the last time. I then lowered it again. I don’t he realizes he needs to push off with his rear.

I’m still not getting the spin. I think it’s the opposite arm that is causing the problem. Is it a reverse spin or Jaako? I can do those. Maybe if I think of them that way I can do it.

    Hi,

Here’s the Minnie Pinnie and rear cross tunnels. He is hitting the bars on the pin wheel. It looks like he’s taking a stride in between. Should he be bouncing these? Also when do I start to pull them out? I’ll go back and listen to the video again too.

On the Rocking Horse 2 & 3, I’m having a hard just walking through these on my own without him. I have some mental block. Can you post them in slow motion or do you know how I can get them in slow motion from what they are?

    Hi,

Can you tell I’m home! It my usual once a week post😊. Go felt awkward, and then he did a scary catch. He may need a massage😳. There were mushrooms out, so he wore his Outfox. I revisited bend work and set point to see if I could improve.

Oops! I couldn’t get YouTube to load before I did this and was impatient. My diagonal is wrong😳. I’ll fix it tomorrow. This gets him worn out. He takes a nap after we train!

    Hi,

We worked on bends and set point today. I drove up to my agility yard to alternate between Flurry and Skye. Her barking seemed to be a bit of a distraction for him, and I didn’t have his favorite toy. Working through Flurry’s barking is a good thing. Unlike any of my other Aussies, he adores other dogs, and I think that might a distraction issue later on. He might need the set point bars to be set higher. I had them at 6” and 10”. If I remember correctly, this is where the dog first sees his normal jump height?

Question on the Running contacts foundation: If I use a mat of some sort, Skye will lay down on it. He has an automatic down on any mat, rug, runner, etc that I put down. So, I guess that I’ll use a PVC box. You had mentioned to use both, but I don’t want to change his mat behavior.

Also, I was hoping to do a four on on the teeter and two rear feet on on the A-Frame and Dog Walk.

    Thoughts?

I had posted the wrong video to the last message, but I think I fixed it. This should now be the same one as in the other post.

    Hi,

Sorry my video is a little long. I wanted you to see some of my mistakes and help me with them if needed on the pill bug. I’m running really flat footed, but if I actually go any faster than I am, he jumps up and bites me:-) So, should I keep practicing this and gradually work up my speed? Or, do I try and reward him before he jumps. The last couple of reps I switched to a food reward. He was getting to crazy with the toy. I also didn’t do this all in one session. He had a break in between a few of the sets.

After about 2 hours I went back and tried to do this with him again, and he was AMPED! I had to walk to keep from getting bitten.

Oh!!! and I’m really afraid of getting hit. He likes to body slam. He’s a large mass of muscle coming at my legs!!!

    Hi,

I did play tug with him in between😊

It will be fun adding verbals. I going back and adding verbals to Flurry’s wraps right now. We didn’t finish our verbals for slackers class yet😊

I planned on doing a four on on the teeter. Then, for the other two I was going to try a two rear feet on without a nose target. I’m using Paula Goss’s plan for that. He’s a big boy! He is similar to Presto who came up with his own contact behavior. Presto‘s was one rear toe on. I think he was more comfortable doing that.

    Thoughts?

    Hi,

Here is a retrieve game, foot targeting (the good and bad), and goat tricks variable surface. I think I need to work the baby level of foot targeting more. He’s not driving to the target like I know he can. Went to far too fast. Skye does his his own goat tricks with no encouragement from me😁

I saw Pat Miller. We’re trying a variety of things. She thinks his grabbing things is bordering on an OCD behavior. We’re trying to catch it early with behavior mod, supplements, exercise, and some operant behaviors (to turn away from things that he covets ie mushrooms) to turn it around.

    Hi,

So, after looking at my backing up video and reading your post, it got me thinking of this trick/game I do with Skye. I started doing this when I started doing conformation classes with him because it seemed like he didn’t know he had a rear end. I could use the fit bone to have him back up to. He tends to back up crooked though. Here’s a video of our game.

    Hi,

Here is video of Perch work and more backing up. Holding his belly really helped. He has done perch work for a while, but I just started using a balance disk. I used a jump bump for him to step over. He can easily do this counter clockwise, but struggles going clockwise. So, I went back to his regular perch. It’s interesting because when he was a few months younger the muscle mass in his left rear leg was slightly less than his right. It has since balanced out, but it’s the same leg that he has trouble stepping over the bar. He’s going to the chiropractor in a week or two again, and I’ll have her check it out again.
