Thanks for the great feedback you have such a sharp eye! I never would have noticed the difference in what I was doing when she looked at me & when she didn’t. I’m really trying to improve my observation skills.

Here is another session of the Driving Forward game. I tried the first few collar grabs without a treat to see how it went and it was more struggle-y than I wanted so I went back to treat + collar grab to get her to drop the toy & reset for the next toss. I don’t think the treats are taking away from her toy drive, but I’m aware of it as a possibility now after watching & listening to the live class. My other Boston (Frankie) does switch from “toy-toy-toy” to “Ok now I only want treats” during training. I never thought about it before. I just thought it was her personality. I’ll work on teaching her a drop behavior too.

We have more to do but I need to get a mat or rug to work inside without slipping so we are working outside mostly & it is a rainy weekend.
Bazinga was happy to play in the drizzle though! 🙂

    Hi Tracy!
Here is Bazinga doing Game 1 – Driving Forward.

I have been doing the collar grab game and was offering a treat to get her to release the toy & also to reward her for me moving toward her collar. I think it is starting to work. I started the game sitting on the floor & moved to standing & then tried running with her. I noticed she looked at me when I ran with her. I’m not sure if that means she is uncomfortable with it, or if she was just noticing the change. I backed off and did some more throws with me not moving & ended on that. I edited out our in-between play & most of me trying to wait her out to drop the toy.

I have a few questions on how we should be working as the class goes on. Do we keep doing all the games (week 1 & week 2 etc) or just work each week’s games?I know it will be variable based on how each dog progresses, but how many sessions of each game do you recommend we do during the week?

Sorry that all most posts seem so long!
I love the games so far! I am so happy we signed up for this class with you!

We so enjoyed watching the live class last night!

Here is Bazinga’s Pre-Game #2. It was our 2nd attempt, my video failed on the first try.
You can see her default “I’m confused” behavior in this one. She was really interested in my hand that was giving out the treats and got confused but I think I gave her time & help to figure it out.

We will be working on the games next! I did a session of the collar game to try & get her more positive about me holding her collar in preparation for game 1.

Here is our Pre-Game 1. Please enjoy the bedhead! I really wanted you to see the first session with this object, so I’m being brave! Haha. I started with a different object, but I think I moved too quickly and she was showing frustration on session 2 of that object, so I changed out to a different object, to start fresh. This is our first session with the dustbin. I clipped out when we were interrupted a few times to keep the clip brief. We started with play, worked on building value for paw touches on the bin & then ended with play.
