And at this moment two and a half years ago … we began the downward slide. A great run .. fast and focussed on an ugly course … this was her first run in what we call excellent level .. at this moment everything went pear shaped.

A clear round … I cared about clear rounds then with her… now I just care about her running fast and for me to handle her like I handle my other dogs which is with loads of confidence and not hunching etc etc

Another example from this year where you can see her discomfort at the start line. Here i am hunched all the way through trying to baby her around the course. She does not see the weaves and is clearly having a bad time and my handling was screwed

What I show here is me trying to soothe Tiki by food scattering ( this was earlier this year) Since then I have worked hard to get her to ignore smells and food and make me more fun. So in this example the food scattering completely bombed as after a few obstacles she ran out to where the food was being thrown. her speed here is also very very slow!!!

Hi kim… yes I’ll send some examples of trials … no fun runs … but I can just run some obstacles and then out and reward which is what I did with start lines. I also wanted to tell you that Sydney is surrounded by bushfires and we are covered in smoke haze. We can’t go outdoors… hopefully by Saturday I’ll be able to get out and set up a drill. Although i live close to Bondi Beach and the fires are about 80 k away .. we are surrounded and the smoke pollution is very extreme and sitting on the coast. I’ll dig out some trial footage…

Hi Kim. Yes she has 2 food balls a lotus and another that is great as it operates as a ball but with food inside ( I used it for a throw in my video) that she loves🤩🤩🤩 Yes she will be like this around obstacles no probs 🤩 Just not at trials … actually she’s can be happy like this before we enter the ring excited .. it’s just ‘the ring’

    I didn’t mention … I have have a working spot )))
So here is a little compilation of me and Tiki putting together some of the drills … not identical to yours but i think this is what you wanted ))) Tiki is not much interested in toys but is crazy for food. I think this is one of our issues … one issue… there are a few… in the ring.
Last year I took her out of comp to work on her start lines and I practiced by entering the comp ..walking towards the assembly steward…running away and rewarding. Each time she was happy I went a little further disqualifying myself but eventually making it to 6 obstacles..then we ran out of the ring… and then we started in competitions again. This year i have a new puppy and he’s very keen and happy but i don’t want to give up on Tiki so i’ll keep working to see if things will come together. You’ll see in my video she’s as bright as little shining star.

I hope its ok to reply to Kyle and Maise here … please delete if not but my story with Tiki is identical to yours .. Tiki does not even see weaves on course as she’s too distracted. I hope to follow your progress through the course…good luck with Maise
