ParticipantHi hi!
We did some more work today, spread out over a couple sessions. I repeated #3 and #6, to try to add some reverse spins. I also thought I was doing post turns faster, but not so much when I watch the video. I think I get caught up in thinking I’m supposed to be “doing a handling” when really I just need to turn and go.
Our backsides are a little hit and miss, but it went better in the later session, so I think we (me) are learning. I meant to retry the backside wraps and I am just now realizing I completely spaced that. Sigh. More to do in the next day or two. 🙂
Here are videos:
Thanks!!

ParticipantAack – I’ve been slacking! We tried Bow yesterday, this is another one that I’ve been stumped by. Worked with Mochi – she can do it, but I have to keep my hand under her or she plops her butt down. This was our first try, it was pretty messy (and of course we had cat help :)).
I will try again tonight to see if we can get some better duration.
Thanks,

ParticipantHello! We started work on this week’s tricks.
First up is feet up on my arm/head down. This video is my 2nd session of this with Mochi, we were out of the frame in the first one (sigh). She had a little trouble with the head down and keeping both feet on my arm, but moving the treat towards her chest helped.
For ‘ashamed,’ Badger already knows this, but is really fast. He learned it accidentally when I blew in his face, so we never used the tape trick. But I have trouble getting any duration, and I’m not sure how to increase it?
We are working on limp – I will update with some video from that later today. They are both finding the spoon a bit confusing at the moment. 🙂
Thanks!

ParticipantHello!
I decided to work with Badger on this week’s trick. He knows weave between my legs and he knows ‘middle’. But the walking part is hard for him – I think it’s the pressure. We got to moving a few steps forward, but I was struggling with getting him to put his feet on mine. He’s looking up at me so much I don’t think he’s paying attention to what he’s doing with his feet? Looking forward to your feedback!

ParticipantOK – I think we got some shaping! Somehow my cue is now a fist with my right hand held slightly across my body (I think that was my version of neutral position while shaping??), but she is getting it! And I think I can probably fade that. Here you go:

ParticipantHi Stefanie!
We started with roll over, as I’ve never been able to teach a dog this past the luring stage. 🙂 This actually went pretty quickly for Mochi, but it took me a while to figure out which way she wants to go. And interestingly, she has a very strong preference! I couldn’t get her to roll to her right to save my life. Sorry if this is super long – I tried to cut out the play and stuff in the middle. And we also had a helper/distractor cat.
Looking forward to your feedback! We will do some more work with it today & tomorrow, because we are supposed to get snow. :/
Thanks,
