    Hi. Three exercises.

the ladder. Feels like he is landing too close to bar 1 and as a result, taking off too far away from bar 2.

Is he not launching with his rear legs and more pulling himself with his front legs when he starts?

The rear cross is just going to take sow more time for me…

We just did one take in the Diamond and I felt like it went pretty well, so I stopped. (He had already done the other exercises and I felt like it was enough.)

Thanks in advance for your comments!

Hi. Made some adjustments on the jumping exercise.

Also included min pin and the wing-tunnel-jump exercise. I’ll admit to not having seen the video for this one; I deferred to the Utah Fun Force during our get together!

Ok, no more naughtiness on my part! I’ll set him up 6” behind the first bar and not go too high with the second.

*so, maybe I need to rewatch the lesson, but what height should the first bar be, please?

    Hi! I’m baaaack!
In the first exercise, in retrospect, maybe I am releasing him while I am too close to the second jump? How is his form in spite of that?

Also, I may have been naughty and raised the bar too soon in the last few reps.

Second exercise, min pin went really well, I think. Not sure if I am telegraphing the R/L directions to him when I had him stand in front of me in the last few reps.

In the wonderfully named wind in your hair video, you are using a dead toy. Maybe it’s just an older video?
This is obvious, I suppose, but when I have the toy in hand, Bob looks for the toy as I am trying to get him to go after wrapping. I’m sure it’s a timing thing… I need to throw the toy sooner, yes? Is he MM something that could be used here?

    Hooray!
I was saying his left and right verbals. I’m just like the Seinfeld Close Talker only a Low Talker. I also say them several times before I release him but I think you’re saying to say them the entire time he is in motion?
Should I keep up with the mini pinwheel? Open up the wings at all?
I will work on moving away more.

Speaking of Da Verbals, I forget whether I should be using them on the serps and threadles.

    Thanks for the comments!!

    Hi!

Here are the two previous exercises revisited.

I actually did the tunnel Threadle drill and feel like it went well, BUT my camera skills were off to the point that submitting exercises would have been a waste of your time. argh.

Hi there. Went out after work to do the box only but got inspired.

One thing about the box work: when I tried to get a little lateral distance, he didn’t go out to the box. Also, wondering if my cueing is now too late…

I didn’t review the other two exercises before doing, so I may not have executed them very well. Just felt the need to work the boy!

    Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the great comments. A few things:
    – It was only after I watched the video that I realized I was clicking on the front foot hits. I was trying to click the rear. Oi!

    – I will hit the Walmart this week and get a yoga mat…

    – I initially did do several sniff-type walks. I will get back to that.

    – If I am reading your comments right, I will toss a cookie and use get it for a few sessions. Then we’ll progress to a MM.

    To be continued!

    Hi!
Bob has been a little on the crazy side the last few days – seemingly out of the blue. Tried the moving serp drill yesterday and he was beyond over the top. It didn’t help that my MM decided it didn’t want to work so switching to a toy and treat on a target failed. He didn’t want Suzie to hold him. It was crazy. So didn’t force it.

I thought today I would just try and do something easier today, so we tried the first contact drill from week 5. I feel like it went well enough. I left ina few of his bypasses and cut our some of his sniffing in between reps.

I don’t know that I have a mat as big as the pvc box I used. Should I try and get one and work on both?

I taught Cisco’s AFrame using the box method that Rachel Sanders taught way back when. I failed with Mira. I would like to put an RDW on Bob and of course a running Frame.

All f or now! Comments appreciated.

So… almost don’t want to pot this b it what the hey! The moving serpentine was mui difficulto. I think I was frequently too far forward which brought him past the jump and to the MM on some of these.

Loved the second exercise! He’s a powerful boy.

Well, poop on a stick. I just wrote some comments and posted them and got a message saying ‘you aren’t allowed to do that.’ Hopefully that was a one-off!

Let’s see. What did I say? Lol

On the backside drill, I feel like I am still not doing it well. On why I would consider the good reps, it’s more of a wrap than a slice. If I try to slide too far to the side, I pull him with me and he doesn’t go over the jump bump. Feels like he really has a feel for the ‘back, back, back’ part though!

Pretty pleased with the left and right drill. At least to my eyes.

I have been either rewarding the toy release with a treat or giving him the toy again after he releases it. Been doing this a lot and it seems to have helped with him giving the toy up more readily.

I’ve also been working on his startlines with liberal amounts of ‘catching’ a toy. That also seems to be helping a lot.

It all adds up to even more fun training with Bobbie Bobbertson! (His nom d’jour.) 😊

I think your response came in about 25 seconds after I hit the submit button!

Thank you, I see what you are saying on each comment. I will redo and resubmit.

    Have a bitchin’ day, Tracy!!!!

    Hola!
I had a question about why Bob doesn’t always come around the jump bump but I watched my video and I think I answered it: I’m going to forward toward the bar and putting pressure on him?

All in all, I don’t feel like I’m doing the backside exercise very well…

Thanks in advance for your feedback.
