    Hi!

Thank you so much for the videos!! Will start right away on working on it. Btw watched one video tonight and Paisley sat next to me cocking her head trying to figure out where her favorite auntie is!!

Here is his cookie recall with distractions. I decided to go straight to the distractions as he has a very good recall. Couple moments of interest in the distractions on the ground but didnt care once the recall game started.

Also we have been working the sit stay game with throwing the food back to him and it is working wonders. Definitely getting more distance and he completely understands what I want. I will try to get video of that tomorrow. Trying to take full advantage of having Sue’s house to train!! 😁

Thanks for all the awesome help!! Volt is also loving that I have an agenda so he is getting trained almost daily again these days!

    Hi!

    Here are two videos….

1st one of him backing up. We have been working backing up off and on since he was a little guy. He tends to curve the one direction so we are working on going straight and also working on doing it on a verbal. After taping this I realized I went a long time without breaking odd in play. Oops!

2nd… is the 2 retrieve game. I skipped some of the parts of this as Volt will pick up and bring back anything you ask. He doesnt care what tug or toy , he loves them all. My main thing that came from this video for me is we need to do the next steps of the self control games as he loves his tugs and toys too much.

    Thanks

    Hi!

So been trying to play catch up on things. This is the first attempt at the goat tricks. Getting him super high tugging is not an issue and actually getting him going right into work is not a problem either. I tried a cookie sheet and I dont think he had ever been on that surface.

I did throw the toy a couple times just to get him doing the retrieve part to a tug from another game you are having us play. He is a great retriever and is always eager to bring it back. Even at the house when watching TV any time he finds a toy he brings it to me to play or at least show me. I reward him heavily for this as I love his eagerness to play with me.

I will get you a back up video soon. We have been doing back up since he was about 10 weeks old. We are currently working on doing it by the verbal beep beep and he is figuring that out.

    See you saturday!

    Thanks

Awesome thanks for the suggestions I will work on it and get video to makes sure I am doing it correctly.

BTW, he is very similar to Paisley and he is balls to the walls immediately and will ask questions later. So definitely self control is a must for him. No need for another crazy paisley πŸ˜‚πŸ˜œ!!

Also need suggestions for the goat game. If we have to do something he hasn’t done. He will get on most things I put down as we have been doing it since he was little and you said something different… suggestions?!?!? 😁

    Hi!

I like your suggestions on the restrained recalls and I decided to started having people at work hold him and get rewarded and immediately. I thought to remove any agility type things and take away some of the arousal to see if that helps him learn to tolerate being restrained.

Here is his tug sit tug. We are definitely at the baby level now. He will start offering behaviors as you see in the video if I make him hold for too long. We have a sweet spot for a hold so I will try to build off that. If I even twitch he moves with me.

    Thanks

Disclaimer that I never train him, even shaping exercises on this kind of floor but it was the only room at work that I could tape in today.

I wish I would have gotten from start to finish in the shaping of this. I wanted to shape something he has never done so we worked on figure 8s around my legs. I did a couple minutes the last 2 days at work during lunch and didnt have a way to tape. Today after a good sleep he totally is figuring it out. He has not gotten the full continue in a figure 8 but he is definitely getting the idea.

My goal recently is to get him high and crazy with tugging and then go completely thoughtful and thinking. After the restrained recall suggestions I worked with Sue Y yesterday and i would tug then make him calm and feed him for being calm then give him over to her. He immediately goes over the top, not as bad when I pass him to someone. One point he jumped and was biting my hand when I was trying to let go of his collar and walk away. I basically told him knock it off in a nice kind of way still in sue hands and he came back to earth and worked nicely. I am trying to correct him in a nice and appropriate way as I dont want to do anything to ruin his love to work. Any other exercises I can do in the pass off to make him not so frustrated or super aroused? Would you cut out the tugging in between the exercise and passing him off and only feed him as a reward. I am not too concerned with how he is right now but I dont want to get him much higher and then it’s out of control. I love his drive and love to work. When we are not working he is the sweetest most cuddly boy with a great off switch.

    Hi!

Yes usually my restrainers hold him by his front and not his collar. I will look at getting a harness. I have been wanting to get one but he was so tiny when I got him I didnt want to have to buy a bunch of them but I figuring he is pretty much done growing now.

Yes he has always had a natural retrieve. He chooses to play toys with me and prefers it over running around with a toy and having party of one. It’s been super awesome and had made my life so much easier when it comes to training him and using toys.

Here is the toy races. I have been playing toy races with him since he was super tiny. As when he was little he was so focused on me when we played in the back yard he was tripping me. So I tried hard to teach him to drive ahead and running next to me was okay. We started out driving to a food bowl with his favorite treat ever, easy cheese. We did the food bowl until he truly built a love for toys and now we are driving to toys. I am just starting to get comfortable running next to him in the race as when he was super small I was afraid of stepping on him.

We having been working on shaping something he hasn’t learned yet and I will try to tape that later or tomorrow at work. I am trying to get the stuff that I have to do outside done as the NY weather is not going to cooperate for too much longer.

    Hi!

Here are some of Volt’s restrained recalls. It’s from the seminar this past weekend. So it’s not just the basic recall as we also did a 360 and a go ahead. I can do more basic ones if needed but thought I would share this, he is becoming quite a handful for my restrainers, lol! I am starting to feel bad asking people to hold him πŸ˜‚
