I closed the poles only an inch but tried to add more instant forward motion.
He seems to miss when I move forward but not lateral or counter.
I also have this issue on the course with just jumping…I’m having difficulty figuring out his motion and pressure sensitivities.
At this early stage of weaving I’m not trying to add speed – but I feel like not enough motion might not be good either.

We trained before I read your last feedback so you won’t see the changes here but we did tighten up the poles a bit. I will make sure I move so hes 100% independent – habits are hard to break!

PS Can you tell me how to add a photo to my participant photo box?

So glad you suggested we train both tracks! Its fun to see the dog’s understanding between both. I’l add more instant motion tomorrow.

    End Position-
What or how do you determine what is the best end position for your dog? I played with it a little today and Summit naturally did the 2on2off on the teeter.
However – I’m also going to be using a low platform for RDW training. The first step of this training requires the dog to get on the board with all fours.
Will I have any issues training or performing either obstacle if the positions are different?
Just trying to think ahead. I’ve done a lot of starting, stopping, and redo training with Summit due to his sensitivities and over arousal so I’m trying to avoid more do overs as much as possible.

Finally got one set new weaves and another is on the way!

Fun to hear you on CH tonight!

Silly question for the day – my weaves should have 24inch spacing correct???

    Question-
At this stage of training the weaves is there a benefit to doing the 2×2 exercises and the channels or should I just focus on one track?

OOOPS! – looks like session 1 and 2 are the same…

Here is our weekend find em work with the 2x2s straight on- it was a bit more challenging. If I added any motion he’d take the tunnel so I chose to keep it simple to make him successful.

More challenges – videoed before I read your last feedback.
I’m going to start adding the toy and tugging more. Hes not quick to bring the toy back and he doesn’t release the toy quickly so we’ll also work on that.

    More Find ems

Adding challenges today included the new environment and GEESE!
The attempted blinds at the exit were left on for your entertainment. I doubt I will ever be ahead of him enough to blind there!

This is the second threadle session. The first was a disaster so I’m happy this went better. Video got accidentally deleted. After reviewing my videos I’ve realized that I’m all all over the place with verbals. My goal for the next session is to be more consistent. I’m also going to try to take my hand send out. My last dog ended up following my hand to much and I don’t want to create that again. Summit is a fast dog – runs only in extension…I will be behind him a lot. Is there anything else I need to start working in to this training to prepare.
PS – I will see you in May at the CSA seminar!!!
