ParticipantHI! Just read through your discussion of verbals so thought I’d share those I usually use:
Over (jump)
Back (backside of jump from landing side)
Gwon (actually, this is go on, but I run the words together and it sounds very different from go)
Get Out ( take far obstacle)
Here (take near obstacle)
With me (close)
In-in (threadle)
Around (go around obstacle)
Turn (go opposite direction from the one we’ve been heading – rears)
OK (release)
Hit it and Bottom (2o2o for various contacts)
I also teach right and left, but get messed up on course so tend to use “turn” more.Kristie Foss
ParticipantHI, Tracy,
Your suggestions sound just fine. Keiko has done some work coming over the jump from different angles with me moving slowly forward, so I think she’ll be able to handle dropping the hand touch.

Hi, again!
Here’s our Serpentine pose 2 stuff. I did both the “baby” and the “advanced” positions on both sides, but figured you didn’t need to see every single run. So, here’s baby on one side and advanced on the other. Hope you’re staying cool!

ParticipantHI, Tracy!
I love that the merge worked! Thanks!
Yes, I was pleased with her work on the lap and tandem. I back up on the lap turn because I’ve taken OMD classes with my other dogs and the instructors all stressed the back-up piece, so it’s kind of ingrained in me. I can try to shorten that a bit if you think it’s a problem. We’ll give your ramped up version a shot. I’ll just have to be fast with the reward retrieval! 😉

ParticipantTurn Aways
Hi, Tracy,
Here’s our work on the lap and tandem turns. This is a longer video because I tried to include all the different aspects you demonstrated for both levels and both turns. You should see the laps turn first: from both sides, treat in hand, then treat in other hand, then with the prop. These several clips are followed by clips for the tandem turn on both sides and finally the prop.
I just realized I made a new thread for the last video we did. I meant to keep everything under this one post and will try to do that in the future. I realize keeping everything in one place is helpful to both you and me. Take care and stay cool, ~KristieKristie Foss
ParticipantThanks for the suggestions. She does love the chase (!) and is not so excited about leaving unless there is a reward. So having rewards sometimes for going to the barrel and sometimes for chasing (me) is a great way to help even these out. 🙂

ParticipantGood morning, Tracy!
Here’s our take on the wing wrap exercise for week 4. Keiko seems pretty comfortable with wrapping, even when I’m moving away. We’ve done other opposing motion exercises, and I like the way they all come together. 🙂Kristie Foss
ParticipantThanks! We look forward to the next exercises. 🙂

Hi, Tracy,
Here’s our work on the Pose for serps and threadles. I was pleased with Keiko’s performance, especially when the toy was really visible and when there was free food on the ground. I realize I didn’t always have the target at the optimum level but she touched it each time before going to the reward. I think the hardest part for me was holding still! 😉Kristie Foss
ParticipantTunnel entries, Dog on inside
Hi! Here are the tunnel runs with Keiko on the outside. I tried throwing a ball first, which she loves, but then all she wanted to do was chase the ball. So, I did one placed lotus reward, and from then on threw the lotus. She was happy and zippy. 🙂Kristie Foss
ParticipantHi! I have done tossed rewards for Keiko to chase as she exits the tunnel. It’s fairly easy to keep my aim straight on a shorter tunnel line. 😉 And yes, she does like the chase! Thanks for the feedback and suggestions. ~Kristie

ParticipantTunnel work #2 (finding entrance, dog on outside)
Here is our work from both sides of the tunnel and from various points along the sides. I was talking to her quietly and as I felt her push or pull get stronger, I raised my voice. I think the only “tunnel” you hear is the last, louder one for each send. I decided not to do the last part where the dog is on the inside between handler and tunnel because I felt she had had enough for a warm morning. We’ll give the other part a try later – or another day.
Question: Would you prefer I put all the videos pertaining to one exercise together if they are ready to post at the same time, or do you prefer to just have one video in each post?-

ParticipantTunnel work #1 – committing
Here are some clips of Keiko going through the tunnel. She likes the tunnel, as you can see. Note: you may hear the MM going off more than once. I’m down on kibble for it, so sometimes it didn’t drop any food and, since I can hear that, I’d click again so Keiko got something.Kristie Foss
ParticipantParallel path
Hi, Tracy! Here’s our path “walk”. My clicking was off in a couple of places because Keiko takes that as a cue that the job is over and tends to look at me at that point. She got the idea to keep walking and look forward for the tossed treat. As you can see, toward the end she figured the pace was a tad boring, so she tried to pick it up a bit. She didn’t seem to care about the distance between us when the jump was ‘over there.’ 😉Kristie Foss
ParticipantHi, Tracy. Yes, Keiko has been doing tunnels for a while. I actually almost used it for this exercise, then decided not to since it wasn’t in your curriculum yet. 😉 So, we’re both thinking alike on this! 🙂
