Hi Bobbie,
Yes! That was from this weekend at their Octoberfest seminars. The pink equipment definitely stands out!
Neutrino sees a DVM CCRP cVMA bi-weekly for regular checkups, fitness evaluations and treatments including laser therapy, acupuncture, etc. He actually saw her right before each of these events.
I would tend to agree with you about obstacle avoidance if it was in anyway consistent. But he’s never avoiding the same type of skill or obstacle and him leaving to visit always follows a mistake which ups his stress level. In the seminar video he broke his start line, in one trial he missed his weave entry and the other I miscued the dogwalk and he took an off course tunnel. If no mistake occurs we don’t have visiting or sniffing.
A lot of issues seem to stem from the startline and the fact that engagement wans in that situation. If I were to just run with him we tend to have more of the barking jumping on me reaction to stress over the leaving to visit stress. There also seems to be a strong correlation to my stress level and energy.
At a recent trial, I tried to get him to do more engagement with me at the practice jump and sitting ring side and he had no issues doing a variety of tricks in both areas, but when I asked for the same tricks on the startline he wanted to sniff instead.
