ParticipantHi Tracy and Everyone,
I do Musical Freestyle with my Border Collie Ace and although I haven’t used visualization as much as I plan to in the future. When I am preparing a new routine I visualize what we will do a lot before I take Ace out and do it. If I do this it helps tremendously, however as I haven’t imbedded this into my training routine yet it has been more hit and miss. I think using this technique with me a great asset is this sport as well as Agility.
Tracy it was interesting to here how you used this in Flyball. Great conversation everyone.

ParticipantLove the visualisation exercise. I used this a lot to learn techniques as a neonatal nurse practitioner and it helped a lot. I have also used this in agility classes, but have not used at Trials! I will have to keep in mind to visualise Ace or Black Jack at the tempo they run not the one that makes the course work perfectly. I will plan to see myself doing the crosses at the time and place they need to be! I think this is a great technique and one I should be able to grow.

ParticipantHi Tracy,
Hope I understand how to do this.
This is definitely a course I need, I easily get nervous preforming in front of People. Even people I know ie I found myself nervous before your seminar a couple of weeks ago. Anyway on to the class.
– Pack everything the night before trial. Keep a list and use it so I have everything I need.
-Shower night before and lay out clothes.
-Listen to something soothing and affirming before going to Sleep. Set alarm
_ Get up with plenty of time for Health breakfast, with protein and fruit. Have meals packed to take with plus water.
No more than 2 cups of Coffee!!!
– Let dogs out, feed, let them relax by me While I East.
Load up and head to Trial in plenty of time to set up and walk dogs and look at Maps.
-Walk dogs separately and bring in to covered crates. Try to Crate in a place that is not to crowded.
-Get maps, review walk course and say in mind things I want to say while running course. Walk the course visualizing my dog is with me. Think of alternative ways to handle situations.
_ Get away from Crowd to visualize course.
-Before run, do arm, leg and neck stretchen. Breath Deep!
_Get dog out before run and Warm up see is he can play with toy and release it or do tricks. -
