Week 4 – Wind in Hair Rear Crosses – https://youtu.be/GnUevQCXKeI
I should not have started with left as that is always our harder direction. Right went well and I made progress with some better timing on the left.

    Week 4 – Backside Wraps – https://youtu.be/9TGZRWTKZfQ
We had fun with these but I think I’m off my line and blocking his view of the wing.

    Week 4 – Ladder Grids – https://youtu.be/s6dNUlbB-iw
We took Kim Collins’ Puppy Grids course so he is pretty familiar with grids.

Week 4 – Diamond – We worked a bunch on this as one side was super hard and we got it figured out only to find out I was doing front crosses not blinds. Much sadness. We’ll try again.

    Week 3 – Send N Serp 1 – https://youtu.be/9VEawwl-eOA
    Send n Serp 2 – https://youtu.be/s6gLbBIsEDM
The lefts were hard for us. I’m not sure if it was me, him or both of us being awkward. We’ve come back to it once and still were missing the jump as often as not. I suspect I’m not connecting with him as that is the usual culprit.

Some broken start lines probably for the same reason as before.

    Week 2 Tunnel Exits – https://youtu.be/d-V4Q06gb7M
I had to work on getting my butt down the line on the go

    Week 1 Wrap Proofing – https://youtu.be/YJUjoZ94V3c?si=3OoCuH3HvSTA_-4h
This was tough. He did his wraps with no problems on both sides although I appear to be missing one side. Then, after a break, we did tunnel. After another break I asked for wrap again and got tunnels. I ended up luring the wraps but he still really wanted tunnel. The other side went better but I was still luring. I’ve worked on these off and on since and it has been fine non the wraps but I haven’t tried mixing the tunnel back in yet.

So be less predictable: – My worst thing. I was a CPA. Predictable was good! I’m not surprised he counts. I’ll do better.

Set Point – What was the distance between the jumps? – I used 6’3″

he elevated like a monkey LOL!!! – He loves the bad throws but I will try to get those under control.

As I post more, please don’t think I’m ignoring your advice. I got through Week 3 before finally starting to edit videos. Procrastination kills.

    Week 9 – Double Whammy – https://youtu.be/kWGv-T5gagY?si=zQGL3Ru2x06A_yek
I placed the ball after the first try as my brain was trying to explode and that was one thing too many.

    Week 8 – Backside Slice with cue – https://youtu.be/RRkAySiSbFY?si=6LzDQm2y0JjFewrd
If you see him dropping his nose on the way over the jump bump it’s because I put a dot there to try not to drift toward the barrel. He checked it out the first couple of times.

Week 9 Threadle Wrap – https://youtu.be/HAwm6D1fFHQ?si=lmqzFfilgKLbZvbZ I had some problems with my cueing on this one.

Your advice on the rear cross made sense but when I tried it I got more chaos as I was panicking about my part and he could feel that and stopped driving forward. So I shortened it up and tried to get my wild throws under control and just concentrate on trying to cross when he passed me. I was very happy. Not a complete success but we felt like a team. I’ll try to keep moving back.

Week 3 Rear Cross – I put this one off as rear crosses have gotten into my head. They used to feel easy and natural but for years have been a big problem for me. Also, this was supposed to be on his egg carton but the last couple of times we have worked with that, he is kind of fake touching it – he puts his foot out like he is going to touch it but then turns away. I think I have suckered for that a few times too many. Not surprisingly, I’m having the same problem with the nose touch object. Well, same but different. Sometimes he’ll turn away without making contact and sometimes he goes around and nose touches the back. It’s not all the time on either object but enough that I need to ask for help. Long way of saying this is our first rear cross try but I used the jump bump instead. He did his end but I had issues.

OK, I’m going to try to use the directionals on all wraps. I had a go at it today. I decided to start with tall cones on the Stealth Self Control that I never got back to as he is regressing a little on his ability to not go straight to food or toy. That went well. https://youtu.be/PvsLZGJpcSc?si=C74aj3cvytwrZaNX

I also did the barrels farther apart but screwed up my video on that. It went well. I was able to stay in the center, he had fun and I think I only gave the wrong directional once. I did keep my toy in my pocket and that was fine. Got the Tug cue out on time once. baby steps…

Thanks! “One thing to consider is two different wrap verbals” – I actually am doing that for the first time. It is hard for me as I have a brain problem with three associated problems – almost zero sense of direction, very little visual memory and mild face blindness. Because of that, I can only use the directionals when I am clear on them and have preplanned. I find it very difficult to figure out his direction when it isn’t a full jump so I now have three – Dig and Check for directions on jumps and Wrap for go around a barrel or wing. This is a work in process on what actually comes out of my mouth but I really do want him to know which way on jumps.
“So keep the toy in one hand o he doesn’t watch it as much, and I definitely recommend a toy-in-hand marker for when you are rewarding him (I use ‘bite’ for that)” That toy switching is a really bad habit. I’ve got to the point where I usually know that I did it and am hoping to extinguish it soon. I haven’t yet started a toy in hand cue but that is on my list to add.

    Barrel Wraps – https://youtu.be/3QevE8b6v9s?si=qO1pAsb907xAI4f1
I think these aren’t in the right order. I had a fair amount of trouble with mechanics on this one. I think the hardest one for me to fix will be too much movement. There was no rocking horse, just a barrel racer… As always, Fen gives his best effort. I noticed he is hitting the barrels so will look at your prior advice in Turn and Burn on that. It’s Fen’s Birthday today!
