ParticipantSo, we tried the Send and BC exercise yesterday. Teagan got distracted after he found a rib bone in the grass. I assume some animal dropped it in my yard. Luckily, I got it away from him, but he kept looking for it. When I did get him back to work, I had a brain blip as I kept doing a RC on one side.
We tried again tonight. We did better this time. I think my first BC was late, but hope the others were better. I am having to wait to do these in the morning or evening, when it is cooler.

ParticipantThanks for the feedback. I always have trouble keeping my arm low and my crosses, especially FC are usually a little late. No excuses, just something I need to continue to work on improving my timing on crosses.
Losing so much training time sue to the excessive heat, I probably pushed him a little to far. I will try to be better at keeping the session short.

ParticipantThanks, Tracy. That gives me an option when I can’t get the tunnel set-up.
Safe travels.

ParticipantTracy,
Is there a way to do the exercises with the 3 wings and tunnel, without the tunnel? Is there something I can put in place of the tunnel? TIA

ParticipantFinally got back to MaxPup today after trialing over the weekend. We worked on the BC/FC game. He did fine on the BC, but seemed to be done when I tried the FC version. We will try again another day.

ParticipantFinally a day that is not brutally hot. We worked the Connections game and the Wrap game. I couldn’t quite remember the Wrap sequence, LOL, but I think we were close.

ParticipantIt continues to be hot & humid, but we were able to try the Lazy Game Part 2 tonight. He did great going left to right. I did have to go in closer to the middle jump when we went right to left. We even tried adding some speed and he still did well. IT was too hot to lug out the tunnel for the next game.

ParticipantHappy 4th!!! Teagan and I did the Lazy Game, but I did not video it. He had no trouble. Today we tried the One Step Send game. It was hot and humid, but he seems to get it. I have 2 videos of our efforts.

ParticipantThank you for all the great MaxPup2 games. Teagan and I learned a lot. Unfortunately, it’s been raining so we did not yet get to do the Starfish game. We will try it once we get a dry day. Looking forward to MaxPup3.

ParticipantTeagan and I tried the Backside and Countermotion games yesterday. My first 2 attempts at the backside went well, then something came apart, but we got it back. He seems to be getting the countermotion, though I need t move earlier.

ParticipantIt was good seeing you this week. Thanks for the great workshop.
Teagan and I finally got back to work. We tried the Jumping Accordion game. The distraction at ump1 was a broken bird egg. Kept working him to work through it.

ParticipantToday’s game was Lateral Send. He seemed to get it. Next step is to lead out further.

ParticipantHi, we are back after a short hiatus…life gets in the way sometimes. Today we worked on Tunnel Threadles and Verbals. He seems to be catching on.

ParticipantWe did some work on the Ladder exercise today, which included start line work. He is doing better, but I think he’s better after I do the catch it (throw back treat). I don’t want his start line stay only tied to getting a treat first. Any suggestions?

We also worked on Zig Zag. He did much better when he started on the right of the first wing. I am not sure why he had more trouble when he started on the left side. I did some back-chaining from the middle wing and he did a little better. Your thoughts?

ParticipantIt was 80 degrees today, so we waited until it cooled a bit. We worked on GET OUT and then LAP and TANDEM TURNS. I have a question about Get Out, I typically teach this with the jump perpendicular to the line, to work distance. Am I to assume we will start moving the jump angle, or is your Get Out cue different from mine?
