ParticipantHere is run #2. You will see that we skipped the weaves altogether when we got there.
And quite a messy start. I should have started over. I can see I was pointed toward the wrong side of the tunnel. What a good girl! She followed my direction. 🙂
When I run, my arm seems to wave all over. Is this bad? Should I work to stop doing that?
Thanks,

ParticipantHere is our work from yesterday. I am oh so forgetful. After 3 lack of success attempts, finally remembered to move to the easier side and easiest angles. Funny, she used to be better on the left…..
I also meant to move the poles straighter, but oh well, it was still good practice for her and less taxing on her body since she seemed to be running through. Not to mention, I haven’t been working all the angles, so more to be done there. Once when she went without the cue you’ll see her weave back the other way!
Thanks for the warm-up tips. I’ll play frisbee for a few minutes which gets her running but I haven’t taught her any stretches so I’ll have to find some videos on that. Also glad to know she’s striding as expected.
Thanks!

ParticipantHow do you like to warm up your dogs?
THanks!

ParticipantGreat feedback! When she missed the entries, I didn’t think I should give her a treat when I called her back to me. My bad….I will give her the treat every time I send her. I was trying to increase my excitement when I called her back to me but guess I need to dial it up some more! The introvert will step it up! LOL Thanks again! We took yesterday off, but since down to the last couple of days, will practice and film a session today.

ParticipantAlso, re-reading your guidance, I think that will be very helpful to start with 3-4 each time I move them closer. Will let you know how it goes!
Lisa Nelson
ParticipantP.S. Thanks for the redo on pole length! Went with the 4’!

ParticipantI did watch the box car video when you sent the link but I forgot about it. Although today, I did start with 3 and 4 on each side! I did not have to open them back up! Still a few misses, but overall a good session and was able to move them a little closer.
I will re-watch the box car video. Definitely want to graduate to 3 sets soon!
All makes sense!
WHen does the course end? And can you remind me about the number of videos we can post each week? Is it 2 maximum? Thanks!
Lisa Nelson
ParticipantHello!
Seems to be moving slowly. As move closer, she makes some misses so I open up the second set. She does well when they are farther apart. Anything else I should do to help her?
Thanks,
LisaLisa Nelson
ParticipantHa! A wine friend! LOL
Makes great sense, will give it a shot!
Can I ask your opinion on something? I am ordering my first jumps and obsessing over whether I should get 4’ or 5’ bars. Space is not great in basement (you have seen), so maybe 4’? Many thanks!

ParticipantGood evening,
Here’s another session. new locale – we’re renting a house in MI for a few weeks. I think she’s looking good, but will wait for a thumbs up from you. Prepare to be entertained – the handler had 2 glasses of wine prior just before starting. Skorts falling down, thinking about throwing the personal cell on the ground thinking better of that idea, cheese thrown all over the yard….
Ready for next step? Brought along poles 5 and 6. Thanks in advance!
Lisa Nelson
ParticipantClearly I am challenged with the video posting thing – hopefully this works for you.
I really think she gets it! I am slow with the treats so she does look back at me, but toward the end I got better and she looked at the RT more. I love watching her and also was forgetting to move.
Another session for more experience? Thanks in advance! Lisa

ParticipantHey! So, do a little dance, decided to hold off yesterday. She was great for steps one and two, but putting them back together was still challenging. So will start her in the gap for a few more sessions. Thanks for the feedback! Lisa
P.S. Tape measure was handy, so poles/treat bowl were precisely 8’ apart. 🙂

ParticipantMakes great sense! Will give it a shot and let you know. So eager to try, may do the back half part a couple of reps if I can tonight. I know I need to limit, want to keep you doing your happy dance! Don’t want to be the cause of any unhappy dancing! 🙂
