    Stefanie,
I filled out the form for AKC novice trick title. I emailed it to you at K9nut a couple of days ago as I could not attach it here. Did you receive it?

    Stefanie,
I am submitting some videos for you to review for the AKC novice trick title. Let me know how we did and if we need to change anything. And what to do next. Thanks for all your help!

Thanks for the info. For a title, can I use an old agility run to count for Aframe, balance beam and weave poles?

    Stefanie,
How do i teach “take it” as Piper is not getting it?
Also, for the trick title, can I send you a video of her running agility to count as weaves, Aframe, and dog walk?
    Thanks

    Stefanie,
Here is a quick video of the soccer progression. She really seems to like this one. Can I name it? I was saying soccer when we were doing other reps. Now I have to buy a real soccer ball! What more can we do.

    Stefanie,
So we tried soccer today but all I had was a basketball. How would I progress with this. I also tried the chin down trick. Had to cut it short cuz my older dog interrupted. What do you think?

    Stefanie,
Our first try with the new trick. The first rep is with lots of food the second is less. I didn’t get the third on video but I didn’t have any food in the blanket but fed her when she pushed the blanket roll. How does it look.

    Stefanie,
Thanks. I hope it helps too. I did a short practice this evening and want to make sure I’m doing ok. After the few repetitions I videoed, she started going to the toy but not bringing it to me but just touching it. Should I have stopped then or done something less difficult or just waited her out? Should the sessions be short so they succeed?

    Kim,
I am also very sad the course is ending. I have learned so much. Even more, I am excited about agility again. I was ready to stop but now I am looking forward to the trials. I now have tools to use to get Piper excited to play. I am so thankful to you. So glad I took the course. I would definitely be interested in a part 2. Are there any other courses you would recommend? Let me know. Can I still send you videos of the dirt trial?

    Kim,
I can’t believe this is the last week! I learned so much. Thank you! I finally got to some dirt for acclimation. Did I do it correctly? I can go back if I need to and do it again. The trial is next Saturday and Sunday. Here are some videos.

    Kim,
I may have somewhere I can practice on dirt. Is there anything more I would need to try to get her to be focused on agility rather than sniff the dirt?
Here are the week 4 drills.

    Kim,
Thanks! I was so thrilled to see Piper happy in the ring. I think I need to up my reinforcements treats for jumpers also. I used steak for standard and my trainer gave me Great Bait liver for jumpers. I also used the reinforcement station at the practice jump for both runs and made sure she knew where the reinforcement station was in jumpers. Our next trial is at the end of January on dirt. I have avoided this trial cuz I haven’t been more fun than dirt in the past but going to give it another try. Now to get back to the lessons.

    Kim,
As always thanks for the advice. These are our runs from our second day of trialing. We double Q’d with 22 points! It’s been on long time since we got that many points! I tried hard to get her excited before jumpers and my trainer helped getting her excited with new treats at the practice jump along with the reinforcement station. I think I can be even more excited though at the start line. What do you think? We didn’t run today as I had thought that 2 days were enough for her.

    Kim,
Ran in a trial today. Standard was great with a Q and 16 points. Unfortunately, she was slow in jumpers and didn’t make time. For standard I got my older dog out and did some practice jumps with Piper in her crate then took her out at did three practice jumps with her reinforcement station. Then put her in the car to rest til jumpers. For jumpers, took the older dog out and did practice jumps with Piper watching but she didn’t seem to care about that. Then did not do any practice jumps with Piper and just ran her. She was again slow in jumpers. Any advice for running tomorrow? Here are the videos.

Actually Kim, she may have been tired. We stayed at a friend’s house overnight and it was a lot of excitement and staying up late. So you are most likely correct. We have a trial Monday and Tuesday. Any advice on how to prepare this weekend? Planning on a practice session Saturday
