Here was some verbal practice (I need to write then on my hand . . . I’m going to walk around the house and practice them, Brisk was so patient).

I hope we did this right (and yes, it was so freakin cold today, 19* when I left)

Well, I’m starting out in typical Lee style. Drove the 2 hours to Riverton and forgot my notes. Came home and realized I didn’t really have him wrap the wing in the parallel path. I am clearly a ditz. Brisk, however, is brilliant.

    Quick questions:

    1) when practicing left and right. What is the farthest out for the middle wing (hope that makes sense)?

    2) how far apart with crate and tunnel to start discrimination? He getting better it’s me restraining before release so I want to really start practicing this.

    Thank you!

I got the big crate out and thought this would help build value before adding the tunnel for discrimination. Out first session. Barking dogs were a bit of a distraction. I should have gone down to the patio, but I was lazy, no shoes, dragging a crate, freezing my arse off, lol.

I fixed the crate pad at one point as he seemed more inclined to go in with the pad. I will find a big one that won’t move around a lot for the next session.

How much do I do this before moving on to the discrimination?

    Thanks!

I think he needed to let this percolate a day or two 😁

Also, we have been practicing the tunnel discrimination and to start this game, me holding him is too much pressure. Thoughts? Also, he doesn’t want to go all the way in the crate when he makes his crate decision.

I will let him think on it a bit and send a video (we just started playing the game this morning) so hopefully it will get more clear for him.

Okay, thing are slowly returning to normal and I’m getting my life back. We have been practicing just not videoing, will be able to set everything up again.

Here is our second serp practice with motion. He definitely has a preferred side. We need to really work more, but I do think it is starting to click, first time was a lot of standing still.

What do I need to be doing differently?

Thank you so much for the feedback. We have been working a lot with stays, we even worked them with Susie and he is doing really well, even when I walk away not looking at him. I will start working these games with a say 😊

My mechanics, ugh. I will keep working on them. The baby, however, is doing good.

We practiced the barrels at the barn with Suzie but didn’t video, will do so this week. She thinks we are coming together, I think he’s really wanting to work and asking for more.

Tunnel work needs to be slower so I will focus there until Thursday, with some barrels thrown in for fun, and then we will video for submission. Thank you!

We’ve been practicing. Are my mechanics wrong?

This is the one I need to work the other side on, sorry. I wasn’t bending low enough but he seems to understand to come in and go out? Do I really need a nose touch or are we okay here? Tried to concentrate on my feet as well. Also didn’t use MM because it won’t dispense about every third or fourth time. I have ordered Zukes to see if it changes anything, changed batteries, cleaned everything very well. If it still acts sporadically I may have to break down and buy a new one 😢. I thought he did pretty well. I will start changing my position and incorporate the other side. Going to the barn Wednesday, so hope to have this pretty solid before we move to the bigger space.

Will work the other side and video tonight. I was trying to make sure my foot was to the backside. He was doing so good (in our small space).

Here’s some perch work. Should I not use a clicker now, just move, marker word and reward? I think he understands.

    Thanks!

    Couple of questions.

I used my perch box lid for the prop. Can I use a bowl? I will look and see if the bottom of the box is too tall, but suspect it is.

Is the ultimate goal to be able to have the dog at your side and they move when you do?

BTW, Hot Sauce cracks me up!
