ParticipantWow! This, Ladies and Gentlemen, is why we pay for working spots! I totally missed that I changed my reward delivery from the last session. Thank you so much for catching that.
Re: the mat. My gut sense is that the cato is a bit too high for where he is now in this game. I’ve got an intermediate option to try the next time we play and will switch to Cato as soon as he’s solid on that one.
Thanks,

ParticipantWeek 2 – more Backing (with mat)
When he was backing up at an angle, do you think this was to avoid the mat? Or just puppy body?

ParticipantWeek 2 – more Goat 3 – Plank
We will continue to work on his confidence for turning around on planks. With the step to add extra width, he did noticably better turning to the right than to the left. In a separate fitness class we are doing through Bobbie Lyons’ group, he is turning circles away from me on the flat, and I haven’t seen any difference between sides. I’ll try this again soon on the Cato board (slight elevation but wider) to see how the two sides compare.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks,

ParticipantWeek 2 – more Wrapping
With me sitting on stool, then standing. Cone is about 1’ from me. Do you think he is ready for a larger object to wrap?
If so, I can do the exact same set up with a slightly taller and wider object in place of the cone.

ParticipantWeek 2 – Goat 3 – Plank
He’s had a few sessions on this plank already. Otherwise, I would not have added the noise and motion.

ParticipantWeek 2 – Toy Races
Let the record reflect that I beat him to the toy once!

ParticipantWeek 2 – Goat 2
These are all objects that he climbs on regularly. The pivot on the balance disk is something he’s only done a couple of times, and this was by far his best one yet. Showing off for you, I think. I have a few other objects that I’ll incorporate the next time we play this game.
He’s fearless about surfaces and motion. My challenge is mostly just getting him to think about his parts. He gets quite fixated on the food and then forgets that he has a back end (hence, my excitement over your backing up game!). I have the fitpods, and slowing him down to think about individual paws on those is especially hard. If you have tips for that, I’d love to read them.
Is it reasonable to work toward getting him to back up to a 2o2o on the balance disk and then doing this pivot like he does here with back feet on and front feet walking around?
Thanks,

ParticipantWeek 2 – Backing Up
I LOVE this method of training this! You are brilliant!
This was entirely new to him. I didn’t click and treat when he went behind my leg instead of backing up. I just started a new rep by tossing the cheese between my legs. Is that the right way to handle that?

ParticipantQuestion about the Backing Up content:
In your “finished” video, I’m not seeing or hearing a cue, but Exie is responding so quickly. Is there a cue that I’m just not seeing/hearing?
Thanks,

ParticipantGot it! Thanks! And Contraband’s plank video is a must see! 🙂

ParticipantThe file for Goat Tricks 3 references a demo video, but no link is there. Also, no PDF. Is there something missing?
Thanks,

ParticipantWeek 1 – Wing Wrap
With 2 bowls and kibble to start. Then, more difficult with cone farther from me and higher value treats.

ParticipantWeek 1 – Nose Target
Standing, with food from squeezy tube for reward. An advantage of rewarding with the squeezy tube is that he takes time to enjoy his reward, which only enhances the salience of the magic spoon.
