ParticipantThis is turn away troubles… I’m doing them incorrectly most of the time. A couple might be correct, but I’m not sure. I see myself sending her out of a front cross. Anyway I’m struggling- I am obviously a bit dyslexic. 🫤
Thanks for your help!

ParticipantThanks. I just want to make sure I understand. So I need to get out of her way and down the line past the wing – that’s what you mean when you say I need to also be on the take off side? I’m just not trusting her enough to move out of her way. She knows her job.
Also – the new lesson for the thread wrap – do you have a verbal you use for that?
Thank you!

ParticipantIt is drying out from our torrential rains so we tried our serps connections again.
I practiced without her and with the BC and just can’t get it down on her runs. 🫤mcgintyrch
ParticipantThank you for your keen eye – and understanding of fear!😂
So I am not getting far enough ahead of her on the exit? I was unsure of that. I also thought she might be anticipating the ball being thrown instead of dropped.
I completed zoned out on the crossbody arm/toy.
I will do more practice without her and then try the one jump. She was definitely getting her speed on. It seems to get her charged up a bit when I run my BC before her.
Thank you so much. I really appreciate your help. I hope your weather is improving.

ParticipantSorry I had the music too loud! YouTube doesn’t like that sometimes. 🥴
Obviously, we need to do more work on shifting connection. These are such good exercises.
I’m calling this next video our Serp Screwups. I’m doing something all wrong and can’t figure it out. I’m throwing my arm all over the place. Fortunately, she’s just going along for the ride and having a good time.
Thanks for your help!

Thanks!

ParticipantYeah, about that – We went to class last night after being off for a month. We have been practicing our MYOB games and leash work, etc. That’s the dog that showed up at class last night. We played games by the gate around people waiting our turn – she got a little distracted some times. I had a dog at the gate before we entered the field, a dog at the start line, a dog that stayed when I removed the leash, and a dog that stayed with me on our runs. When I screwed her up, she chose me. So, I’m hoping our practice is paying off.
Thank you, so much, for your help!-

ParticipantThanks so much for the review.
Sorry, when I did these I thought these were the front cross combos. After watching your video again, I’m not seeing how they aren’t the same but from a different angle. 😵💫After watching the videos, I thought about them a lot. I also ran them with my BC, so it made me think about the difference in how I ran them. I agree, — I don’t need to run all the way to the jump for the turn as long as I’m staying connected with her.
These are such great exercises!
I wondered why she did the rear at 1:05. Now I see that I put some pressure on her line.
Thanks so much!

ParticipantThis front cross thing is killing me!😂
Here’s the good (not sure about that), bad, and the ugly. As you know from the earlier session, I have a difficult time figuring out the hand in which to hold my toy. So I did it several times with it in the wrong hand. Then I started to figure it out. But I never mastered keeping that arm across my body. She was so tolerant. My favourite is when I sent her to wrap the wing the wrong way which lined her up perfectly for jump two. 🥴 I tried to vary our distance to the wing, but I wasn’t very successful.
Anyway, here’s the video.
I’m not keeping my arm and face turned back towards her enough. On another note- Really enjoyed the MYOB webinar!

ParticipantExit connection videos.
I’m really not sure these are correct. I seem to see things backwards sometimes. 🫤
So, when the manners minder was behind her, it was really difficult for her to release towards me.Front cross?

ParticipantGood morning, Tracy. She loves the manner minder food trough.
You’re so good at recognizing the look of fear!😂
I have that some look when I watch your videos on the exit line connection for the front cross. It seems like you don’t really turn all the way…but I feel a bit dyslexic at times in figuring out which way to turn. I’ll try!Thank you!
mcgintyrch
ParticipantHi Tracy!
This is our regular connection practice. The distances are backwards🥴. Not sure if we were far enough away. She gets all sleathy/crouches and focuses forward on these types of exercises.
Thanks for your review!
