    Thanks, Tracy.

I really enjoyed the Zoom discussion. I have a couple of questions –
I believe you said that you don’t ask for a stay in the first NFC trial you enter. What is your progression for introducing that? You don’t feel as though you’ve taught your dog that it isn’t required in a trial?

How do you expose your dog to a multi-ring situation? I see lots of trials that are run indoors that have only one ring. I’m in California – we don’t have anything indoors (everything is outside) so there maybe multiple rings running at one time.

I recently got the nerve up to ask a classmate to film my runs. Last night we were a dumpster fire on our first run…she took off, went to see her fan club, but returned when I called. Second run was really good for us. My videos showed I was not connected to her on the first run🤪, so she took some liberties since I likely confused the heck out of her.

Thanks, Tracy. She’s not doing “really well”. She’s the same as many of those dogs and their handlers that were crucified on Facebook tonight. I didn’t get to listen to all of the zoom tonight, but will listen as soon as the recording is available. She is a dog that fawns and can be very environmentally aware, and, sensitive. We work on that, too, of course. Again, thanks for working with us.

Okay, thank you. Should I use a snuffle mat for decompression or a walk?

Okay. Here’s an example of our Cato board sessions. She sees the board and comes to it. Updated

This video is a few clips from class last night. She was being held – but was out of view of the camera. I didn’t handle her very well. She stayed with me and my magic spatula.
After class was over, a classmate commented that she didn’t seem as fidgety as she usually is.
Questions – what is the purpose of having someone hold her at the start- other than letting me having a bit of a lead out. And, it’s okay if she isn’t sitting?

Yes, I have a Cato board and we use it a lot. I didn’t have it with me so I used a mat.
I can try a person holding her; however, she is very strong and will likely try to jump all over them or twist to get away.
And thank you, very much, for your review.

Here’s some video. It’s sad and depressing to watch. Sad that she’s stressed and depressing I didn’t just stop. I was frustrated and too heavy handed. Several attendees thought she needed some e-collar work. She runs courses and sequences at home and in class.

Okay. I’ll work on getting that video. She was actually a bit calmer yesterday evening when we worked on it….

Which brings me to – we had an agility seminar Saturday and Sunday half days. Would like to share some of that video. Most of her “working” time she spent hunting- her prey drive kicked in and she hunted the available cover on the field area. Three hours into the day, she was able to work a couple of very small things. I also worked with her to lie down on her mat and watch the others. How much video would you like to see and of what? A sampling of her hunting? Some of her very few pieces of actual work?

    Thanks.

She has started plastering herself on me when we’re done. I think she is getting too wound up with the food. I’ve had to cut back on her meals as she gets so many treats or kibble while we’re training. She can get very mouthy.

Okay we’ll try it this weekend. That’s the backyard – after 12-15″ of rain.šŸ˜‚

I’m having mixed results with the calming/relaxation – she’s been getting when we’re done and wanting to fight.😣
