ParticipantWind in hair rear cross seemed to go ok although not sure about me, lol. None of my other dogs could do it using this setup, hmm, so she must be a genius. To be fair, if I used their ‘turn’ cue, that helped…except Maisy who turned right regardless…

ParticipantWorked on Find the Jump today…not sure about my connection. Jump is 10″. She was slow getting warmed up so sometimes we were not doing wraps at the beginning.
Wendy
ParticipantI angled the jump a little (but forgot to change when we changed sides)…started with the MM closer to the wing on the line and moved it out gradually and the session was more successful – our second one today. https://youtu.be/C1MH-QsSokM

ParticipantFound the serps and sends tough – this is our second session and it was pretty identical to the first a couple of days ago. I am not sure if my shoulders are sufficiently turned? I try but not sure I am doing it well enough. On her right side – she bypasses the face of the jump so I put the MM behind the wing and move it out little by little but when I tried again after a couple of minutes – same result. I find myself moving away from the face of the jump more to pull her through on the right. Looking forward to your thoughts.

ParticipantLeft-right minny pinny – I think left was easier for her: https://youtu.be/37JLsZV9_C0

ParticipantOops, forgot to post this. Trying for better connection out of the tunnel…https://youtu.be/RYmasM00dfU

ParticipantNot sure if I’m giving her too much help or not enough. She is not keen on her collar being held…
Wendy
ParticipantHad another go at Smiley Face. Struggling with left from right lol (may have cut most of those examples out) but I think the connection was better. I can see I’ll be practising the mechanics some more.

ParticipantOur first smiley face game! I think I need to up my connection game…not sure if this is why she tended to curl into me or if it was brandishing the toy, lol. Might use a more discreet toy next time. And I forgot my “right right”cue because… no reason. https://youtu.be/RKPirEKD2Ws

ParticipantHi Tracy, thanks for all the good ideas. We did another session of wind in hair at the witching hour before dinner and she was crazy for her toy. I usually tug with both her and Dream and throw his toy while I play with her – I remember you saying we should introduce distractions early (lol) but for the stay I will definitely clear out the spectators and start on the flat. We did the food pod set point session in the morning and the wind in hair session in the pm…..so I’ll bear in mind the order or take advantage of the witching hour 🥳
Back to being a toy demon this morning (before the food came out). I really need to work on toy throw timing. https://youtu.be/kwOjVLPOucY-

ParticipantWe tried set point with the food pod on a lead – which worked fine. I notice I only did 1 side. I edited out a lot of the messing around, dropped treats, searching for treats. I do need to reward behind more. She is finding the stay more difficult. The distance is 1m (39″). The wingless jump is on 2″ Is her jumping different with the toy? this setup? Is it worth persisting with and making it easier (back to non moving toy/moving after release)?
Did a wind in your hair session – yesterday with a toy, today the tug held no interest so back to food pod. Pre-placing was a challenge so I left the pod sitting there and ran and placed the food in it.
Wendy
ParticipantHi Tracy, I took all your advice and we’ve done a few sessions with the toy. She is more interested in food generally but I’d like to keep the toy play alive some. If she gets a cookie, that is pretty much it for the toy. We worked on set point today – first with the one jump putting her in the middle – only one break. Then I filmed this session with the 2 jumps – a little under 3 feet apart. She is 13″approx. Grass was damp so she had a mat. The struggle is real.
Wendy
ParticipantWe have been working thru the stages for a few days with the long toy. And working on her stay for longer 🙂 There are a few fails – am I going too fast? do I need to go back? https://youtu.be/3fVB0OZewKE
