I have been known to get my lefts and rights wrong… For my next trick, if all else fails, just point vaguely in the direction you want your dog to go.

We practised passing by the tunnel yesterday. The tunnel had tunnel hats on each end and that helped. I learnt that I cannot get round the end of the tunnel before her after handling #8 jump. As I don’t have a stunt double, I tried just sending her – again we practised this and I can see how it would be useful for open courses with exclusion zones.

Icy winds and intermittent showers kept us from doing a bit more but I was happy with what we did. Pretty sure the last bar was her watching me with the treat ball. She turns tightly if she gets the info in a timely way. Suspect I was a bit late on jump 3 given her extension jump.
BTW, should I be focussing more on the packages, rather than the lives? I am not sure of their relationship or relative importance but we haven’t tackled Package 2 yet. Thanks
BTW, new chi pup arriving in August! – in time for Puppy Camp in the New Year.

I was surprised she struggled initially with the distance when we did a practice run yesterday.I struggled with the extra jumps lol. Bit better today.

Pretty happy with this – 5 minutes from start to finish (minus a minute for each startline, lol). Did my best to sabotage her tight turns out of the tunnel by being out of position. All good learning.

Trying not to be too ambitious, we just did the one sequence. This was very useful because we get a lot of off-courses, many of them tunnels. I think my rotation on the reverse spins must have been late because she did not read them… It was sequence 4 not 3 btw.

Pretty sure the bird was a crow! Thanks for the feedback. And can I just say that her bar knocking on backsides improved out of sight after your jump course.

Managed to do a bit more movement. The threadle jump was an issue so I moved it. Just not getting very far!

I think I need more practice on the break hands.

I am quite enjoying these although Maisy resents doing all those startlines. Her eyes flicker back and forth between me and the jump. Often she does not move her head so I take what I can get.

We did all 3 sequences this AM but the video was not turned on for 5 and 6 so we re-did those two this PM.

She has an uncanny ability to pull off things which makes it all a bit harder to get ahead and get the blind in. That pink jump before the tunnel is our nemesis.

We went away for a day’s seminar on distance and layering and she did great! Thank you for your course, I’m sure it made a difference.

I am trying hard to show her the connection she needs. I ma learning to stop when things go astray, rather than doing them over…so we only have a few reps on here. Still have to go back to #4.

Thanks Tracy. We tried again with more distance between jumps and moving reward. https://youtu.be/0vglf0nXaM0

Found the next exercise tough – particularly the blind. I just couldn’t seem to get the timing right. Yesterday she kept skipping the jump and coming in to me, today it was just bars down… presumably because I blinded later to stop her skipping the jump.

We did a bit more of the same. I stopped before she lost interest but i think I’m going to have to practise some longer sequences at some stage. The height is down too. I am loving her enthusiasm.https://youtu.be/xB3cY5VjCB8

Did some of the middle-tunnel sequence work with Sassy: https://youtu.be/794O9Y_Vbpk

Last night there was a mock trial at the Club – 4 competitors. I did a fun run with Sassy after – she did amazing first 6 obstacles, petered out before the 2nd tunnel, then re-started and finished strong. Best she has been in ages. Started with pattern games and volume dial. Seemed to help but everyone was far away which made it easier for her.

We did some work on the first couple of sequences in week 2, low bars.
