    Hi Tracy,

We haven’t done much the last couple of weeks. Indy got to go with us this afternoon for Jake to run Agility League. So he took a run at the course. He popped the weaves so we worked through that but I cut that part out of the video.

I had to cut off the video of our standard side to keep it under 5 minutes. I thought he did such great stuff, I wanted you to see as much as possible. After the video cuts off my teacher asked about a collection cue for the jump he kept taking. Before the Aframe. Duh! I have a collection cue, Choo choo choo! I forget all my new words since this is the first dog I’m actually using them with. He did much better when I actually communicated with him. What a novel idea! I love that he’s not running around the entire arena once I take the leash off which is what he did when we first started going to class. We have a long way to go but we’ve come a long way already! It’s fun to see.

We have another local trial this weekend so he will get some more pattern game work.

Thought I would share some video of Indy’s class tonight. In between our runs we worked the pattern games & find my face. I thought his attention was much better & he worked through some distractions. When we got to our 2nd run on the standard side, he was having himself a ball. Lots to work through but some good stuff too. I probably should have handled the teeter differently, ie not run, but he rebounded well

I forgot to answer the UKI question. We don’t have any here in Oklahoma.

    Hi Tracy,

It’s still raining here so we went back out to the garage & worked on the End of Run game & Find my Face. I also tried to engage in him in the tug toy again but he wasn’t having it. I ordered the rabbit fur lotus ball from Clean Run today.

We have a trial this weekend & I will take Indy along & will work the Find My Face game & will try getting him to engage in play some more.

Our treats were on the DW right behind the camera. Should I move them out of the field altogether like I at a trial?

I don’t have any entries for him currently. We don’t have a DW yet. When we go to other locations, he runs around sniffing everything so I’m pretty sure he won’t stay with me yet. I’ve been hesitant to enter him yet! We do have a local trial the 1st weekend in Dec that I could get him in. Maybe just do FEO for FAST, T2B, and JWW?

I say Yes all the time when he does something good. It’s such a bad habit and he totally thinks it’s the marker word. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Rain has set in here so my field is going to be very wet this entire week. I decided to move the car out of the garage to do the remote reward work this morning. I have another area that’s under cover if the garage isn’t big enough. I tried it with treats & a toy. He loves tugging with his brother. He’s not that much into it with me unless brother is right there.

This is a sequence I was working with my older dog. Our first run with no treats! And some more teeter work.

The training wheels are off the teeter! Just wanted to share our video from tonight of the teeter.

Do you want to see video of sequences that he ran that aren’t part of this course?

Hi Tracy, Indy LOVES teeters! We were able to go to another building this past weekend on our way to a trial for my older dog. Indy kept going out of his way to get to the teeter & it was dropping the whole way to the ground. He was also running around some checking out the new place but he was coming back to me, maybe not the first time I called his name, but fairly quickly. Of course, it helped he was working for his dinner & I had the kibble in my hands. He also loves going out of his way at class to get to the teeter. My teacher basically sits on it to block him so that he will actually do the sequence we are supposed to be working! High Value Object! So he’s been on at least 6 different teeters so far. Not sure what brands but they are all in different locations. It will be on the ground very soon & I will definitely reinforce the end position.

We worked Opening sequence 5, lateral lead outs, the teeter, and pattern games, although that was done at Lowe’s & not filmed. Since the teeter is so close to the ground, is it ok that he came off it one time although he wasn’t released? Or should we be holding the end until released?

I was late coming into the meeting this evening because I wanted to run Indy on sequence 4 when I got home from work. I also tried the lateral lead out & apparently completely forgot what was supposed to happen, I.e. the dog looks at the jump. Then you played the video & I was like oh yeah. So there are a couple of lateral tries at the beginning of the video & then at the end. The wind is really strong so the tripod isn’t very high & you can’t see Indy very well at the beginning. I didn’t want the tripod turning over.

You forget all the things that have to be trained for these young dogs to be one seasoned veterans who will save your runs when handling errors occur!

Here’s Indy’s work tonight. We worked on sequence 3 & went back to do the BC on sequence 2. Indy kicked it into another gear tonight! I also put a jump in front of the teeter. The video wasn’t panned out wide enough to capture the sequence from the tunnel to the table that is se5 up behind that tree.

We went out & tried the blind & RC on sequence 2. He struggled with the blind. I think part of it is he prefers jumping 8 inches but his jump height will be 12 inches. We are working jump grids to help. When he finally got it I should have stopped right then & treated him.

I don’t know why I keep missing the connection!

Here’s Indy’s run on the 2nd sequence. I should have tried a blind & a rear but we moved on to the teeter. I realize that’s not in this class but I included the video of moving right into the teeter after the sequence. We are slowly dropping it & he could easily jump off but he does stay on.

    Hi Tracy,

We were able t9 go out & work the first sequence this evening. I put notes in the video of each attempt.

We also worked the pattern game with the leash on.

I guess we don’t know very many tricks. We need to work on some.
