ParticipantI will definitely try your suggestions Friday when I set the tunnel back up. We worked the countermotion today. Verbals I definitely need work remembering. We started ruff while I’m tried to figure my verbals backwards 🤦♀️ I don’t know if I’m correct still 🤷♀️ right is check, dig is left. I did realize I was flinging and tried not to in the 2nd 1/2. When I started doing more wings, I couldn’t get the verbals in. I got my last racetrack in as it started to rain 😀

ParticipantI can totally understand about putting pressure on her to tug. I’m just going to face separate play /tug seasons.
It was Midwest muggy but I’m happy again with speed. Her backsides were good but I was probably blocking. I do need to work be verbals and these exercises. I switched sides do see if it was better. The left rear was good but right rear and wraps, I need work
Mary Rios
ParticipantWell I forgot the backside and didn’t have the best turns but she was playing and going fast 😀 I just did what was on the video

ParticipantI made a board to go on my little wobble board. It’s hard for her to get on the smaller one. I did get her on a pillow and think this is good to work also. But she’s leary of moving and bangs….🤦♀️ for her trick title, she had to made a kids phone ring by touching. I had to Desensitize her to the sound, kind of what I did with the smaller wobble board. I started on a bigger rug, smaller rug and then partially on the tile and rug. She was very brave. She definitely need wobble board work and bang it. I used the clicker to get her on it.

ParticipantThe practicing with a friend was good to take turns..I really kept it short but I got a few suggestions I thought I’d run by you. I do remind myself Spud didn’t want to practice at all. She would cower and pee. Tali is much better than that. My friend’s older vizsla didn’t want to work with her. He’d run off (Tali doesn’t, she’s just not excited) so she does the remote training like you have in the 1st max pup. Would that be something good to mix in? She puts his treats in a cooler they run to
I did get the lotus tug..Definitely very small and the treat hugger. The treat hugger is hard to get the treats out of BTW but my new lotus ball has a flap to attach something to so that’s nice. I’ve also got a zipper bumper that is bigger than I thought but I’m thinking I can use it as a self rewarding toy like we do with bunny bags after they run. She didn’t like the bunny bag since it’s deeper.
I tried get squeaky ball but she didn’t like it. Could be different with people here. Definitely need to mix that in and no to the Frisbee…so far.
My friend gave me the suggestion for getting toy play (Susan Garrett) was getting her to play with a toy before she can do something she really likes. Start with just a little engagement. The one thing she loves and gives me hope for a fast agility dog, is getting to go outside.
We did do the teeter climb but I messed up and did the wooble board on the hardwood and she freaked out 🤦♀️ I’ll do some videos later.
Enjoy your 4th….I’m just hanging at home and planning on little training sessions

ParticipantWhat a week 🤦♀️ I’m taking tomorrow and Wednesday off to catch up.
I’ve got a friend coming tomorrow morning to practice so that will be great to give Tali a new distraction and she’s a wild Vizsla so maybe amp her up.
Here’s some catch up..a little warm then a little drizzle. It’s definitely harder with Tali versus wild Vizsla Chaz. I never had to encourage, I was always trying to calm him. I’m trying to spread out my sessions but just got behind so did catch up.

ParticipantI wonder if I provide you with the best background 🤔 waterfalls and mountain woods 😀
So not the best surface in my driveway, but good for these games. I included the good and bad, except the 1st couple times where she went around the 1st jump. I think it was great working her in a different location and even had a squirrel chirping in the end, that she had chased up a tree. I went to 2 jumps in the rear crosses to make it easier and finished with some goes.
Mary Rios
ParticipantI guess I didn’t include the missing jumps because it was like that in the seminar and I know what caused it and worked thru it. Like turning left, she just needs more practice. I will add some. This right had a couple.
I definitely do try to do a lot of blinds since I don’t have time for fronts with fast Chaz and not a lot of distance.
I’m going to the cabin for the next couple days to work and bringing my jumps and tripod. My driveway should have enough room. I’ll see how she does there and will make me take breaks 😀
Mary Rios
ParticipantWell we definitely need to work on 1 step sends. We tried again the blinds and wraps. I didn’t include but she does run by the jumps. I really need to work on my connection and her commitment. I really hate bringing out my tunnel esp for 1 afternoon so I tried using 3 wings. I know just doing a diamond, 4 jumps I’m not getting the send to get away like with a tunnel. I’m also going to the cabin for a couple of days to do outside clean up and I’m not sure I want to bring the tunnel. I can definitely do the one step send game which she needs.
I remembered I really needed to be lateral to get to the crosses. I’m impressed with her lateral start sends. I mostly worked the easier way. She had trouble with getting the jumps after the wings to the left, so I broke it down and then did some racetracks. I ended up moving the two side wings in closer to make it easier. Maybe with your help, I won’t be late for my fronts like I am with Chaz and Tali lol. I do really want some distance with her so I can get places and not be late.
I am thinking to get her better turning to left, just doing pinwheels with the sends and race tracks with rewarding, making it easier?? I think that’s what you suggested before.

ParticipantThis morning was great 😀 are you going to post a link to it? I didn’t see it. Rewarding question – I did just order from clean run the lotus on a tug. I’m curious if how I was rewarding Tali was ok. I was giving the treats from bag after the run versus the lotus ball, where she gets it herself. If this way was ok, I’m planning on mixing things up. I also got this zippered retrieving dummy that holds treats also. Jennifer wants me to do some hunt training so I thought I’d work on better retrieving.
Mary Rios
ParticipantThe lazy game was extremely tough lol bad grass in the upper level and hot dogs, I finally got it pretty good. We’re calling it done 🤦♀️
Mary Rios
ParticipantSo after I practiced her contacts…I remembered, I need to practice toys/tugging, just playing without training. She was tugging great, would run off with the toy and not quite bring it back but we were playing in the yard. I’m going to attach a long line to the toy I’m thinking. And I’m going to end my training sessions with playing. Maybe a little before….warming the porridge 😀
Mary Rios
ParticipantRegarding the 1st session -she was just running around so she was panting/not fresh before we started. We just need to set this training…which helped better this morning. I’m having trouble with toys so i can do the lotus on a tug.
I am happy with her plank. I do realize her speed is good for that. She did have trouble turning to the left on the plank.
I do short sessions but love the suggestion of treating when she did something fast. They’re not out long times or unattended but each she goes out to potty, its that full run the yard which keeps her skinny for all the high value treats, non dog food I need to use. And of course, there never is deer chasing unless the stupid deer come in the yard while they’re in the yard. But I do think taking her into the yard on leash to train will set the tone and help. I don’t train in groups so I guess this is my distraction training.
Very excited for Saturday. Rain in the afternoon, but the morning looks cool and dry 😀 I beg you not to have me go in the beginning of the order 😂😂
Mary Rios
ParticipantOk tried taking her on leash and waiting while I’m getting ready. Upped the treats. This looked a little better. I learnt I need to move the tunnel over. The opening in back right, between the yards is where the deer come so she kept stopping to look so I started on the otherside and she did better. Her #1 job is to keep all animals out of her yard 🤦♀️
And some teeters with me moving away…and a straight on jump. Watching the video she is still coming at an angle..should give more distance or just moved the wing each time over? I’m posting to line a bunch of different teeters this summer 😀
Mary Rios
ParticipantI suck at throwing and I think too lush of grass lol. This is 1/2 a cheese ball I’m throwing. I’m more using manners minders for the box work and plank.
1 step sends – I was just doing some stuff. We had a deer on one side, squirrel on the other 🤦♀️ and a too big area to for run. She gets panting before starting. She runs the yard so fast, she has speed but not so much doing the drills. She so different /harder than my high drive for anything Chaz. I’m going to take her on leash and get a crate for the patio. I just really hope with confidence and mine, she gets faster. Spud did start out not wanting to agility. Not wanting to practice…but we did get her confident and she’s fast now.
I didn’t video but she really drives to the teeter top at least.
