Okay, that makes sense! I do have another question to ask then, I want to teach him running contacts and I know that I will need to use one for that, will that affect his overall speed? I know speed isn’t something I get right off the bat, but will it hold him back in the future?
He was not driving as fast through the tunnel for the treat and train. I think he’s starting to view it as reinforcement, but I will definitely work on shaping a behavior with it as well!
He LOVES smacking it! The problem I’m running into now is him driving to it. I did a ring rental with a friend and he was obsessed with the tunnel (I was using a toy), but he won’t perform it the same with the treat and train. Do you think this is something that I can fix, or will it get better the more we work with it? He ran over and smacked it a few times which was adorable!
Thank you again!I wanted to give you an update on how it’s been going. I started shaping it like a goat game by having him smack it and he LOVES that game. We have just started adding in the dispensing aspect, but he was taking treats directly out of the hole that they came out of which is huge for him!
