Hi Tracy, is there an exercise I need to do before the threadle exercise, maybe something I missed from prior Max Pups? If not too much to ask, if there is something I need to do before this exercise can you please send it to me. I have done just a couple of reps with Griz on the threadle based on what we learned from Jenny D., back in January 2019. Is this good enough? Thanks!!!

Hi Tracy, I practiced the Zig-Zag grid during a break in the rain, the grass was very wet 🙁 He had problems at the end completing the straight grid on the 5th jump.

Hi Tracy, this is Grizzly first time doing serps in a sequence. The first sequence was very nice. I broke down the second sequence (with the tunnel). I also broke down the long sequence coming out of the tunnel (4-5-6) so that he knew he was turning out of the tunnel. I think he did great. All jumps were at 16″. Looking forward to your comments. (All reps are on the video).

Hi Tracy, I practiced the serp with 3 jumps this afternoon before I saw your comment. Griz did awesome (latent learning?). All reps on the video and only 4 of them!!! And to answer your question, I have not started working on threadles yet. Maybe Sunday I can try the sequence 🙂

Hi Tracy, I did the serp work with two jumps. I had been practicing the serp with two jumps connected (as Jenny did it at puppy camp in 2019) with the bars on the ground and slowly raising them to 12″. So for Max Pup 4 Serp, I started with two jumps at 12″. He kept coming in between the jumps when going Left, his best turning side and may be not my best side. Not all reps are on the video, I tried to keep the firsts and last ones. Looking forward to your feedback. Thanks!

Hi Tracy, I did Go, left and right after the tunnel (he is still learning this) but better turning right or me make him turn right. Also BC and FC, in that order 🙂 These were all the reps. Looking forward to your comments. Thank you!!!

Hi Tracy, one more question before I start week-3 exercises, the “cue combo wrap”, could also be used to go to the same jump #3 that you have for the FC, for example if the course will make you continue with DOR after 3, right? Thank you!

    Hi Tracy,

Question on the Tunnel Exit exercise, the turn after the tunnel is considered a soft turn because the tunnel is also helping the turn? I would have thought that since the dog is “crossing the plane of the tunnel” back to me it will be a sharp turn, no?

Hi Tracy, here is the FC and BC sequencing, FCs where much easier for me in this sequence. BC not that much, I had to walk it several times, and I kept doing them too early. Looking forward to your comments. (Note: 1st time at 16 inches).

Hi Tracy, I did the equal distance ladder grid with motion, very happy with his form, very even strides and rounded jumping, even with motion 🙂

Hi Tracy, busy week at work 🙁 I did the BCs, FCs, with 1, 2 and 3 jumps. When doing the 3 jumps, I felt I needed a place to go after to understand where to put the cross, so on my first attempt I did both a FC and BC hahaha!!! I jumped Griz at 12″. Looking forward to your feedback. Thank you!

Hi Tracy, well, I went a bit over board with this one 🙁 More reps than planned. I started at 17 feet just because I thought that since his stride is long, he could handle more distances. But this exercise proved to me I need to still move slowly. So I started with 17 feet, then to 20 feet, then I started reducing the distance, to 19, 18, 17 and then 16. I also increased the height from 16-12″ to 20-16″. In total 9 reps, and 6 distances. My intention was to do no more than 4 reps, but I worked till I got back to one stride. What I liked is that his jump form was good (in my novice eyes), and he was organized when taking off. Looking forward to your feedback.

Hi Tracy, I did the Send & Go with Griz this morning before the rain, I had the jump at the top of the pinwheel at 12″ and the other 2 at 14″. He did very well and I tried not to move pass the the first jump and use the verbal when he landed from the prior jump. These are all the reps I did with him. Looking forward to your comments. Thanks!!!

Hi Tracy, on the Send&Go pinwheels, with Voodoo on the last reps with a lot of distance you used your arm to help the dog, so when the distance is greater can use the arm to send?

Hi Tracy, is there an easy way to move from the Forum onto the class?
