ParticipantBack from the Aggression in Dogs conference, nosework camp in CO with Cricket, and now recovering from COVID and beginning to lift out of the fog. Watching the training videos today trying to let them soak in so that as soon as I can I can get Trouper back to the training (he needs it after just having to hang out on hikes in CO Tim – he doesn’t understand that was special). In Week 3 on the sends and serps the advanced level starts to move the wing so that we are sending to a backside. I dont remember introducing a backside verbal in a previous foundation session. Where did I miss that?

I had many failed attempts that I were just warm ups and mostly , for me, figuring out how to get him to let me hold him. What you will see over the next few videos is wonderful success at this, and playfulness with two toy tugging.

ParticipantAll your information about introduce the concepts, play, and move on and revisit the concepts again with another game makes me feel better. Yay!
I have a problem — and it happened at the seminar in Iowa— with holding Trouper in order to fill his head with the verbal and then let go. I had trouble with the tunnel games and initial tunnel threadle game in foundation. Once he is working he DOES NOT want me to hold him – NO TOUCHY!!he doesn’t have trouble with it when we are just doing quiet trick training but once we start moving he won’t let me hold him. Suggestions? Do I work on it?
I’m in and out of town over next few weeks. Tim speaks at Mike Shikashio’s Aggression Conference and then we go to Colorado for a Nosework Camp. I will do my best to squeeze in some training/ game playing so I can keep up. This weekend game feels like it will take me the entire time if this class.
Anyway- suggestions for holding or training and proofing the verbals would be great.

ParticipantHere is some smile game wrap vs tunnel work. I can see that if I don’t have good connection and am not looking at him that things break down. I also started this session using the wrong wrap vernal. I’ll add that to my list if 1,001 ways to confuse your baby border collie. I left that off the vid.

ParticipantQuestions and comments this morning as I struggle with training time. How do I continue to make progress on games from week one while the week 2 and beyond gets posted. Do you want to see some if the fixes I try to implement or do I just live in and continue to work things on the side (so to speak). Do I keep moving g my tunnel from smile to straight and ba k to work this stuff? It concentrate on one set of games at a time.
Other questions:
Can I set up the pill bug with other stuff or is using agility equipment the best?
Week 2 – Game three is challenging! Plus there is a lot there. Do you suggest to work up to advanced levels over the course of the upcoming weeks? (Didn’t help that I had a big brain fart and complete blooper in my set up and start to working this game) poor Trouper – he was still good to play and my brain wasn’t.Ruth Lewis
ParticipantStill playing smile games. Here’s a video of the numbered course- done in both directions.

ParticipantI live in the woods with lots of oak trees! This years acorn crop makes playing in the yard feel like you are running in sharp marbles. I’ll try to clear a spot with the blower to be able to play on grass.
In the meantime we played the smile games games too. So TONS of handler focus and watching me- yikes! I didn’t expect that. Hoping that’s just a baby thing?
Here are the first rounds.

Looks to me like he needs the jumps closer together? I tried to set him closer to the jump bump.Wrap to a jump: this one is a bit long but includes walking, jogging, throwing a toy, and placing the toy. I left in my mistakes. Like the one where it looks like I’m presenting the toy on the wrong side of my body.
