    propalooza!
    Too funny

Ok on to rear crosses – we tried and we did get somešŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Our brains were tired after that so we did something completely different and worked on goat tricks

🤣 Rug was from Ocean State discount – I got it a bunch of years ago, it was a great deal!!

Anyway- we had a marathon prop night – making my way toward rear crosses

He did get puppy breaks in his crate when I went to rewatch instruction videos – but it was a lot, and normally I have him do much shorter sessions.

His value for actually stepping on the prop isn’t great – I kept going, taking stepping near the prop.

    Week 1 – send to prop forward/sideways/backward

    Week 3 – parallel path

    Week 3 countermotion

Ok that makes sense – I can sort of feel him locking onto me and then remembering his toy sometimes – I’ll try next time giving him more time

We tried goat tricks again – I picked this object because he has never used it before but in review of the video – I think this had too much movement-instability

Also we needed more space – he bumped his head tugging šŸ™ and since i didn’t have my clicker I should have made my verbal markers sound more like a marker with less chatter but he coped with my set up and offered a sit and a couple attempts to get back feet on

Ok yes thanks for ideas with shaping goat tricks!

    Back to handling….

Decel drive to handler – at first he was not quite sure and I forgot to move forward and THEN decel.

Focus forward – interesting to contrast toy session with the food only session above. Focus forward seems so important for us –

0:01 jumping but got him on toy šŸ™‚
0:17 jumped but then remembered his toy
    0:49 ditto
1:29 I tried to push back but then my throw was late??
1:40 maybe I should have done a cookie scatter or snuffle mat then
** i cut the film here bc i went to get cookies but he did get focused on tugging before the break
1:51 tried cookie toss to pre-thrown toy – think I should have delayed the thrown until after he went for cookie?
2:05 tried delaying the throw but think I went overtime and he is overstimulated

Have tried the snuffle mat twice so far when we have high energy tugging – seems helpful! Didn’t video it yet

    Goat tricks 1

My video failed twice so this was our 3rd day trying this –

I noticed my typical pattern is send away – he returns – meets the criteria – I click – reward – send him – he returns and meets the criteria – etc

Rewarding on the object was a different pattern for me and I was less sure when to change my criteria

Ex I mark 2 feet and reward on the object – should I then see if he adjusts his feet for 3 on, or reward some stillness with the two???

Anyway that was my thought process around 1:18. šŸ™‚
