ParticipantHi we played a little with exit line with go. I thought the go was not bad. Watson, did a little head check but took the jump. The second attempt we missed the tunnel entry I think I was looking up and thinking about giving more exit line connection. π https://youtu.be/eIWmYeOD_Fs

ParticipantWatson and I took a little break from sequencing and jumps and have been doing weaves and contacts. My timing on the BC was off but I think that is due to baby dog needing a bit more support to go take a jump. Here are my 2 videos Novice seq. 1:
1. walk thru https://youtu.be/3xJ1ETs5qoY
2. run https://youtu.be/jV5QR64rXmcJill Seamster
ParticipantYikes skills set 3 way too hard for us right now. We just do not have the backside or threadle yet. I was vey happy with his drive ahead on the go cue. I am able to get pretty far away and send him to a jump or tunnel. https://youtu.be/aEGDCJKl1ZI

ParticipantOk this is what we are working on right now.
Verbals: I plan to use the same verbals on all obstacles. Take the obstacle and exit using verbal given.
Go extension cue take the object in fount of you
Right/Left soft turns
Check check wrap right
Dig dig wrap leftPush take the backside as a slice
Round take the backside as a wrap
In In threadle slice
Do not have a threadle wrap verbal at this point we don’t have a threadle so I have lots of time to think about this one. LOL
serps right and left cues
Out = turn away and take the obstacleObstacle names:
Jump= I have had to use this more with Watson as he will happily run fast by a jump.
teeter
walk it=dogwalk
frame= Aframe
weave= weave poles
tun-tun or tunnel= tunnel
I want to keep the use of verbals as simple as possible as I have enough trouble getting around the course LOL

ParticipantHey Tracy we gave novice seq. 1 and 2 a try this morning. 1st attempt at seq. 1 I had to bail I just wasn’t expecting him to catch me so fast. The 2nd attempt I sent him to the backside so I could make it to the BC and we made it. Yes I was late giving my turn cue but not too zig zaggy.
The last run on the video was 1st attempted at seq. 2 I gave the wrong verbal and did not give him enough slowing down and changing motion to cue a tighter turn. I did take out the 1st jump and ran it one more time and he did very well reading the check check turn However I did not video it. Bummer. Sorry it is hard to see Watson on this video I will have to use Pixam next time we try out a sequence. I will work on my skill sets later this week as it promises to be quite toasty outside. https://youtu.be/5uJt5dyD0ooJill Seamster
ParticipantHi Tracy I had to take advantage of the weather and Watson and I gave Novice Sequence 1 a try.
The first attempts we had trouble getting 3rd jump and a nice left turn into the tunnel. I was not connected as per usual on my 1st run. Last run I was late giving my left cue and tight turn out of the tunnel. I was waiting too long to see if he was fully committed to the 3rd jump and the tunnel. I think the connection after the tunnel saved me and helped him find the last jump.Jill Seamster
ParticipantThank you Tracy π

ParticipantHI Tracy,
We were able to get out between the rain showers yesterday and try a few skill sets. I worked on backside and threadle. This wasn’t a very productive session. I abandoned the threadle as I think it was just too much so we worked on our backside slice cue. At this point I am having to run to the wing to get the backside. Luckily you covered this very topic today in CC2 and we really made some progress. I am posting this hear to see if I am cueing incorrectly.
However check out CC2 as either latent learning kicked in or the warm up session clarified a few things for him. I am guessing it will just take time before I will be able to be on the other wing and just use the verbal like you do with Voodoo.Jill Seamster
ParticipantHey Tracy I am so excited and I have been looking through the 1st challenge Package under sequences for success Novice doc it looks like Novice 1 is not showing on the pdf. Did you want 3 courses for the young dogs or decided 2 would be better for them? Not that Watson and I are ready for them yet but I thought I might let Mickey try them out. π

ParticipantHi Tracy I hope all is well with you. π The temps are starting to go up and this was our first session in warm humid weather. I thought Watson handled it well but I not sure where my mind was. LOL when I cued on time and rewarded properly I really started to see his understanding of serps. I think I am ready to start intro the threadles even though I need to keep reinforcing go back out and take the 3rd jump. I honestly think if I rewarded better and cued the second turn he would have gotten the last jump. Your thoughts?

ParticipantWe did the moving grid and the bending grid today. The rain is on the way here so Watson will get a nice break. I thought that the session went well. https://youtu.be/Ujl8a06GSlk

ParticipantHey Tracy on the Grids first distance I did one on each side. He looked the same so I added about 3 feet and now that I look back at it was way too hard. I will go back to single jumps and move the last jump one foot. the 1st rep was at 15 feet the last was 18 feet. He has not seen the double that much so I am not surprised he had trouble. I will need to start adding different types of jumps so he can start getting use to them. When do you introduce triple and broad jumps? I think he is old enough now.

ParticipantGood Morning Tracy
I was able to get one front cross and one blind cross in. https://youtu.be/NR0l8-pnUiE
I also have a little video of the Progressive grid. https://youtu.be/xcZ51NtY6oUJill Seamster
ParticipantWatson and I did Pin Wheel. This is part of a UKI course I have set up talk about lazy I just didn’t want to set it up again. LOL I did run too much but I am really thrilled with Watson’s speed and resiliency. He seems to need my motion to get him in the tunnel. Seems to be a theme with us LOL.

ParticipantHi Tracy I was able to get a little video today. Just ignore the outfit. I am sort of in my PJs and sort of wearing sweats.
Here is a short session of grids: 1st and 2nd are grids 5 feet apart Watson broke his start line on 2nd attempted. The last 2 are progressive grids 5 ft 5ft 5ft 6t 7ft I was moving during the first one. the last one I was standing still. https://youtu.be/sUvIQa9ezC8 https://youtu.be/sUvIQa9ezC8 https://youtu.be/sUvIQa9ezC8
Here is the go out of tunnel: Notice he did not take the jump 2nd time. Disconnect? Shouldn’t he be looking for the jump? https://youtu.be/9VMvwkb_fXEhttps://youtu.be/9VMvwkb_fXEhttps://youtu.be/9VMvwkb_fXE
Threadle: I had to put the toy up as it was too much of a distraction. https://youtu.be/ELyaZzpYRnA https://youtu.be/ELyaZzpYRnA https://youtu.be/ELyaZzpYRnA
