    Hi Tracy,

Thanks that makes a lot of sense and using all of them to achieve balance also makes sense. I was working mostly just on the right/left cue after the first jump to help me learn the timing :). But never hearing a cue more then twice in a row makes total sense to really keep us connected as a team. Thanks for the feedback and details on the time of each potential turn.

Also I was trying to figure out how to sign up for the max plus “supersize” to learn the body awareness games. Let me know how I should do that as you mentioned at the seminar since I have Max Pup from last winter. Thanks!

Thanks, that helps to know so I can get the lines setup better on the next session. 🙂

Hi Tracy – Thanks for the additional feedback. It makes sense that it’s dog dependent.

I gave the distance one another go last night and tried to get my timing coordinated with what Túlka needs. After being early in the last session, it seemed like I was late in releasing the toy since she turned back towards me. 🙂 Lefts felt better than the rights, but it could be because we did rights first.

Take a look and see if you think I’m getting closer to what she needs so I can help clarify these for her. Thanks!

PS) Sorry about the bushes in the view, but I’m running out of yard to get a longer distance.

Thanks for the feedback Tracy. It’s really helpful.

I felt the same thing that the exercise really helped me identify what she knows best and where there still isn’t clarity.

I see what you mean concerning the lines where she had to come around me as well as the three way discriminations. I was thinking less angle would make it easier, but I see where it actually makes it harder because it opens up the other choice. Thanks for pointing that out.

I’ll work on eliminating motion with her on our next session.

One other question that I was wondering about. When I send her back to the wing to add motion. Does it matter which direction I send her around it?

    Hi Tracy,

Thanks for the helpful feedback. I see where I was confused in applying the verbals concerning the timing. Brain confusion on my end. When you wrote it out, the “ah ha” happened. Duh. I’ll give it another go. Thanks also for the suggestion on they toy.

I do think the issue before was due to the wing being in the shadows. I started back with the wings because it was a new location, but there hasn’t been an issue with the wings except for the session with the shadows. 🙂

    Hi Tracy,
Between rainy weather and work deadlines, life has been getting in the way a bit for this class. I decided it would be better to focus and try to get some of the skills solid rather then jump around too much. You’ll have given us plenty to work on for winter practices. 🙂

When we started working the distance exercise, a question came up concerning Túlka’s verbals. I tried to capture it in the video for you. Túlka’s original right/left were trained for obedience on the flat. You’ll see where she turns right after the tunnel several times. I can get a right over the jumps if my body/motion are further up the line. But I think to be fair to Túlka, a right/left on the flat is how she was originally trained.

So, should I keep the right/left on the flat (does that occur in agility trends)? Or should I incorporate the jump to always be included with her right/left verbal? Or yet another verbal LOL? Or perhaps it really has more to do with my body/hand cues rather than her verbals. She was pretty insistent so during the session I was trying to figure out why.

I wanted to get your input/thoughts before I changed up her verbals. Thanks!

    Hi Tracy,

Should I try the Distance Skills Part 1 or wait until she has more clarity between the soft turns and “go”?

    Morning Tracy 🙂

Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow in person!!!. One direction is much easier for her than the other. I changed my body position and added more motion to try and help. Next session should I add more distance between the tunnel and the jump or ????

    Tracy,

Thank you so much for running the online camp this summer, I’ve learned so much during these exercises! I really appreciate your time and the insights you have shared over the weeks. There have been a lot of “ah ha” moments and I appreciate the detail you provide in your comments back to us. The details on the video are really helpful for me as well as hearing it in a couple of different situations or ways so that it can “sink in”. Túlka also sends her thanks!
