I am not planning another session but you can absolutely go back to the previous class and work on those or any tricks from previous weeks in here. I think they both have to potential to be able to get both titles!

Pray looks good, great job!! For cover your eyes, I would pick just one of the paws right now to focus on, looks like left is the one used most. To get duration you have to really up the reward for the ones where there is more duration. It looks like you reward her the same on all of these, but some of them were longer than others, so those longer ones you can make a big deal over and reward her verbally and with food so she knows that’s closer to what you want. With that, then you need to stop rewarding the ones that are less like what you are looking for, so you narrow the criteria, as long as her stress/frustration doesn’t get too high, if it does then you open that criteria back up again and just work on the variation of amount of reward to show what you want. Hope that makes sense.

Great that is all 15pts for Novice.

Just so you know, he only needs 2 tricks from the Intermediate level to get that title as well. If you can send me two videos from that list, you can do both at once.

I would need videos (one video of each or you can do multiple in a video) of all the tricks to make up the 15 points. I already have seen the following that I can count towards his, so you would just need to video the balance.

    Fetch to Hand (I) 1pt
    Toys in a Bin (A) 2pt
    Pick a Card (I) 1pt
    Play Dead (A) 2pt
    Roll Over (I) 1pt

For the title Nick needs to be the one to do all the tricks. If have any questions please let me know.

Great job with leg weave! If you want to try to smooth it out, try rewarding only ever other leg and if that goes well, every 3, and so on. Good job!! I’m really happy to hear Nick is enjoying the tricks so much that he’s sharing with his friends. And yes I really think they should apply for at least their Novice trick dog title!

I think things are looking good. I actually like my dog to look up at me while they walk between my legs or on my feet because I use this a focus on me game we play in crowded places. I think you just keep working on the shaping part of her putting her feet on yours, be patient, don’t try to help too much, let he figure it out, and make sure to reward big time with any incremental improvements.

PS Your cat just cracks me up 🙂

That is great work!!! You worked through that initial resistance and made great progress!!

Start to see if you can fade the lure, trying switching to shaping and see if she will now offer at least the laying on the hip if not a full roll.

Great job with play dead!! Roll over is looking good! If you want to try to help smooth it out I’d play with the placement of the treat and the path you are drawing with the treat in hand, or eliminate the treat in hand.

On the first roll over she was better, compared to the 2nd one, notice the difference in the hand that holds the treat. Something to play with to try to smooth it out.
