    Hi Bobbie,

I’m pretty sure that our class ends on Monday so I wanted to say “thank you!” so much for sharing your games with Viva and me. We have been playing them, if not sending in videos! I can see that this will be a work in progress for many weeks (more likely months) but she is getting more comfortable and I think someday we will have a gleeful teeter like your dogs do. I’m very glad to have all your games as a resource as we relearn the teeter.

I think Viva’s primary fears are addressed by the Mountain Climber Game. The first time we played it, she didn’t want to go beyond the middle of the teeter. She is up to the yellow now and seems pretty confident as we get going. I think what made the difference for her was knowing that she has the freedom to go back down the teeter and leave if she wants.

This was the first time she played the Elevator Game so I started out by holding the board very low. I can see that this game can also give her confidence with the board moving at unexpected times, which is how she got herself scared in the first place.
Viva’s last video (with a cameo from big brother Teddy who wonders what the heck happened to his agilities?!

    Hi Bobbie!
We’re finally back in action after a couple of busy weekends. Here is Viva in two different sessions playing the Bang Game and the Rebound Game. I am pretty pleased with her Bang Game understanding and enthusiasm. I’m ignoring the times that she reaches for the ground for balance (happened a couple of times). Maybe I should be more proactive somehow to keep all her feet on the board?

She is clearly not as comfortable with the Rebound Game. She’ll play but she’ll also self-release herself to relieve the pressure. We need to play it a lot more!

Looking forward to your feedback! ~Sue and Viva

VIVA, Wobble Board #2 (hard, noisy surface)

    Hi Bobbie,
Here is Viva working on the wobble board on a hardwood floor (hard, noisy and, also, slippery). I normally would not work with her on this floor (or even tile) because the wobble board slips and she slips. But she doesn’t mind at all. It’s all an opportunity to get lots of treats!

This is about half of our total session. I figured you didn’t need to see it all.
