ParticipantHi there,
Here is the back-front combo excercise.
I tried some backsides with minimal handling but still needed an arm to help her, so will keep working on the verbal.
I thought she had good understanding in soft turn and not too bad on the backside wrap since that is a relatively new verbal.
Needed a pool break near end, these excercises seemed to tire her out more that I expected. Brain work is tiring 🙂
Thanks for watching.

ParticipantHi,
Smiley face videos: This is the most sequencing Fritzi has ever done ! I was surprised at how much fun she had, yay !
Baby level:
Took a quick break and ran the mini course you had on the course map (sort of )
Mini course video: Has a funny Oops at the end 😉 I forgot what to do and was super late to tell her and turn. She tried to solve the mystery !
Thanks for watching!

ParticipantHello,
Meet Fritzi…. I am having so much fun with her and I’m looking forward to your guidance !
Set point excercise video: I change the distance during this excercise because it seemed to be a stretch for her at the beginning. In watching the video I wonder if I went from too long to too short 🤔 She seems to handle both ok, but I want it to be easy for her. What do you see with this ?
Wind in your hair video : this was new for her. I thought she was getting the idea and seemed more confident as we progressed.
She does get a little distracted by some ‘goings-on’ at our farm here and there, that’s her puppy brain and it’s always improving so I try to engage her with food or toy and ignore it.sundiprechtl
ParticipantHi there,
Adding a long video here: Week 4 Independent Wrap Verbals and then moved on to Week 5 Real World Jump Hts.
Independent wraps were good unless there was a distraction jump too close. I started out with the same set up for both excercises and realized right away that was too confusing with the distraction jump. Thinking I might try it in the future unless you think that’s unreasonable (?)
Nice to review some wrap and soft turn stuff at different jump hts. Felt like she was doing well with that 🙂
Some miscues on my part caused the mistakes.
Thanks for your feedback 😀

ParticipantHi there,
Managed some ‘soft turn serpentine part 2’ practice and videoed today. I still need to help a bit with physical cues to differentiate the excercises, still really happy with the work as I think she is really trying to process the verbals too 🙂
Ps. Lots of sheep and dog noises for everyone to enjoy on this one 😉
Had lots of practice on courses this weekend for soft turn and tight wraps at warp speed. Your class has helped a lot, those went really well. I did encounter an interesting problem: it was really noisy at the venue and my soft turn cue wasn’t really loud enough as a shh shh noise. Going to migrate the verbal over to the ever popular check, check. Seems easier to yell it 🙂
Still have lots of work to do but making progress !
FYI I’m signed up for a working spot in AU041 with Katy’s niece, Fritzi. I’ve been auditing AU036 for the past couple months as a foundation. Really looking forward to getting started. Yay ! Can you suggest any prerequisites I should be working on concurrently ?

ParticipantThanks for the explaination. I will try to experiment with this over the weekend. At a trial for 3 days, may not get a video done till Monday. 😊

ParticipantHi there,
I have a question about setting up the soft turn combo serpentine. I confused Katy on the first wing wrap. Not sure what to say there to send her for the turn on the wing ? I can say go, go as she comes off the wing but wouldn’t a verbal soft turn, or worse a verbal wrap, cue her to come in toward me ? Go,go seems to accelerate her commitment on the line she leaves the wing on as predicted by my use of soft turn verbal to get the turn on the wing. I see in the instructions that you say to use a physical cue for the wing. Just want to clarify….
Thanks !

ParticipantHi there,
Here is our first attempt at the Fast Lines Challenge. It was really warm so not a lot of reps and some quick pool breaks.
I had to mess around with the set up a bit, sorry for making you watch that 😉
I thought Katy did great. Me, well, still inconsistent line running argh, especially with dog on left. I changed my start procedure and got some toy distraction around 5:28 as a result 🙄
Lots of room for improvement. Fun and practical exercises. Thanks

ParticipantHi there,
Adding a couple more backside slice balance reps here trying to stay on a straighter line, cleaner start, and more obvious toy as a distraction. Still needs more practice before we can get more speed.
Backside wrap wing with jump.
Just a couple reps here, I think I need more practice than Katy does 😉 Tried to stay on my path (stepping right gave her the idea of a rear cross to an off camera jump one time), toy was still a distraction she worked through. Caught myself saying YES too, will work on saying GET IT instead.
Overall I think this is really helping Katy understand the verbals better and helping me see where my actions are helping/not helping her. Thank you !

ParticipantHi there,
Thanks for the suggestions. I think they really made a difference. Worked on a cleaner start (I’m taking your self study start line class so incorporated some cookies with that in mind for the set up). Also a better line, better toy throws and some balance reps.
Certainly was easier for her to keep bars up.
Near the end I put in the beginning of backside wrap. Will get the backside wrap with wing and jump next time.
Wanted to let you know how much the Monday zoom helped, I finally got to watch it last night 🙂
Also a warning: the Farmville peanut gallery is making a racket in the background.

ParticipantHi there, today’s Farmville noises are dogs and horses. 👩🌾
Soft turn serpentine: I thought she really understood the turns well. I used my ‘turn towards me’ verbal shh-shh for both turns. (I have turn towards me and a seperate turn away from me verbal, rather than right and left for the soft turn)
Back side slice
I thought she did well, but….
Sometimes I’m too inconsistent on my line.. she also tends to get me to rush the start with all the excitement she has. (Barking)
Definitely stuff to work on!sundiprechtl
ParticipantThanks for the feedback and suggestions. Will try to video again Monday.
Also wanted to let you know I bribed the sheep and ducks with breakfast before we started.😉🤣sundiprechtl
ParticipantHi!
Soft turn combo followup video.
Again, unedited so you you can get the whole picture. (Sorry it’s 6 min)
I started with the wrap jump a few feet away from the set up and moved it into position as we progressed. Tried to be more reinforcing on wrap, as you suggested, also used a better toy. I think overall a great improvement! Katy seemed more confident on the wrap, she thought through the soft turn too. I tried to reward when she was looking in the correct direction and sometimes she check in and got it right anyway!
So fun to watch how she figures out what we want !

ParticipantHi,
Soft turn exit line combo video. This was a bit harder for Katy and I than I thought it was going to be. Very revealing!
I left this whole session unedited so you can see the good, bad and ugly…lol
In this session I tried to increase difficulty then, near the end, decrease difficulty since the combo was so challenging.
Katy seemed thoughtful throughout and enjoyed herself, I’m curious to try again in a few days and see where we are with the verbals.
(The background farmville noises are my ducks and sheep, it was feed time…. hahaha)
Let me know what you think ….
Sundisundiprechtl
ParticipantHello,
Thank you for your helpful suggestions.
Here is video with wrap verbals exits: more speed, better line on the wings. I think the better setup took the question on turns out but I think I can see Katy tends to look straight ahead longer on the right wraps. Not sure if this is a problem or just her left/right handedness.
Also on the video are the first soft turns exercises.
I stayed walking on the soft turns and added the wing when things seemed to going ok. Not sure if I threw the toy too early?
