ParticipantTimber came up lame and is on rest for at least another two weeks. I was so looking forward to this camp. Hopefully we will be able to start up again soon 🙁

ParticipantWeek 1, Seq 1, Step 3
Per my June 12 submission, I was having trouble with the tunnel in Seq 1. I went out and tried it once (trying to be more aggressive in my handling and still got the tunnel). Unfortunately forgot to turn on the camera….
I tried it again tonite and success! I also used the spin from #4 to #5 (per your suggestion) and it was a much better turn than prior attempts. Note: I was so excited on my first try (not getting the tunnel), that messed up the spin the first time. Wish I was more caught up, as rain is scheduled for quite a few days ahead. But very happy with the success with the blind. Thanks!

ParticipantThis was the best online class I have ever taken and can’t wait till next summer.
The topics you selected were incredibly on point for me and exactly what we needed to work on.I didn’t post much, as weather was bad and then Timber ended up with a gastro issue that lasted for many weeks. They still don’t have an answer, many $ later. When I did work consistently, our progress was so obvious.
I did run some of the evolution box sequences this week. I am posting sequence 2 (all 3 attempts). Attempt one was just doing the jump/tunnel discrimination, which as been a bit of a challenge to get the verbal only.
QUESTION: Are you going to have any other classes in the coming months that are appropriate for open level dogs?
Thank you so much.

ParticipantPackage 4 – Jumping 1
I thought this was already posted, but just checked the forum and didn’t see my post. I hope I didn’t post it to someone else’s thread…..https://youtu.be/novohLUwNAkCourse – All but one attempt recorded
1. Turn at jump 5 to tunnel – Missed it first time; corrected by moving, instead of facing him.
2. Turn at Jump 11 to tunnel – I never said tunnel any of the turns…just said left.
3. Threadle at 15 – I am not ready for the threadle wrap or the backside from where I was on course, so I did the threadle slice and went to jump 10 (instead of 16). He was trying so hard, I didn’t want to make the course any harder for us.
4. Tunnel 18 to tunnel 19 – gave up. Help.
Major theme here – I need alot of work on turns…..I think I have been relying too heavily on spins and I am trying not to use them unless really needed…Threadle Wrap Question
I am struggling to progress on this cue (I know I should have posted a video and will post one next time – feel free not to answer if I should have included video). We have success with the Threadle Wrap when their isn’t much motion, but he reverts to the threadle slice once much motion is added. Question: Your threadle wrap cue looks alot like my collection cue, so I haven’t used it. My threadle slice cue is the opposite arm. I am using the same physical cue for the threadle wrap, with a different verbal. Is it okay to use the same physical cue, but different verbal?Thank You!
In a previous post you provided me with instructions on the German turn. Although I don’t have it with much distance, I used it in class on Monday night and nailed it. In a class full of speedy BCs, I was the only one got it. Timber and I got alot of applause and whoops! What a confidence builder. Thanks.Susan
ParticipantThank you!

ParticipantPkg 2 – Jumpers 1
1. German Turn – So need help with the German Turn. Practiced it before running the course, but gave up. I know that he was at a bad angle for the first two reps, but I know I need some help. Do you have a foundation video for the German Turn? Note: Wish there was a way to easily scroll or identify other students videos that apply to the section a student is working on (e.g. Pkg 2, Jumping 1 OR Weave Challenge…..).
2. Jumping 1 – All reps for course EXCEPT for the attempted run where Timber knocked the first two bars. I stopped and restarted. What is your protocol for knocked bars? Note: I just winged the part with the German….Susan
ParticipantLayering Skills 1 (Seq #1 through #5)
All reps shown. Some of #5 was embarrassing to watch….Also didn’t compute that #4 was a backside. Will try that when finish up Seq #6.
He was puffing too hard to finish up with #6.-

ParticipantPackage 2 Weave Skills and Verbal Discrim – First Try for Both
It has been too hot and humid for us (especially me). Hopefully the weather will break.
Verbals:
I realized when doing the verbal work that I rarely use a jump cue – I just say GO if I want him to jump in extension. QUESTION – is this a good method to “teach” the word jump (although I do use it, I haven’t spent much time using it).Weaves:
The first try on the weaves I had my senior girl outside (thinking it was too hot for her to interfere). Very proud of Timber for staying in the weaves 🙂Susan
ParticipantSkills Pkg 1, Seq 3 & 4
My phone was acting strangely and apparently did not save Seq #1 and #2…
I only ran each sequence once, as this was Timber’s second time running any type of agility (he ran one short course in our first class back last Monday). It is so hot today, I didn’t want to go back and do the first two over, but wanted to start posting :), so below is our first run on the last 2 sequences. If I had run it a second time, I would have tried the turn out of the tunnel without the spin (I tend to use them as a crutch). He likes 16″:)
Note: As long as he doesn’t scoot up to the bar, I am happy..we have struggled with stays.
