ParticipantHey there
Yes, I agree, the more in the face I am with him, the better the collection
We did the best we could to set up the shifting connection sequence. These were the first 3 times we ran it. 1st rep, I messed up, Next time I’ll watch your video first.

ParticipantHey there Tracy
Here’s a bit of work we did in our Thursday night class, using our connection, commitment and verbals
A bit late on the 1st blind, and pulled him off the 2nd tunnel Entry, turned before he committed?
Tom Toomla
Participanthere’s some of our work on timing of the verbals
Also a couple of startline breaks, very unusual for him. I think he likes the cooler weather, got him all jacked up.Tom Toomla
ParticipantOne word for the look to the side – SQUIRREL
He snagged some tail hairs the other day, so now he’s super vigilant.
timing wise on verbals, I think I need to get them out before takeoff on the previous, I’ve given up on trying to teach him to turn while airborne.Tom Toomla
ParticipantHey there Tracy
Still playing with the zig zag grid, jumps in a straight line, wings end to end. Seems to be good spacing for him.
I like the let’s balance the ball on the back while we spin truck, going to have to see if I can train that.
It’s been fun and we have lots to work on – thanks again

ParticipantHey there, been taking it easy, it’s August and that seems like a good thing to do
Did some zig zag work today, straightening out the jumps. Realized after the 1st 3 reps that the jumps may be too close together for him right now. Spread them out about another foot in either direction and all his problems went away.
Good, or should I work on moving them back closer together?
Tom Toomla
ParticipantSo I still have the jumps set at a bit of an angle, to make them bi directional, I need to work towards getting them in a straight line – right?
Tom Toomla
ParticipantHey there, here’s where we are at with the zigzag backside sends. Hope this is what you had in mind. Rep #4 he completely misjudged the 1st jump, but then got back on track though I’m pretty sure I can see him thinking harder.
Tom Toomla
ParticipantTried the backside sends at 8” tonight, no problem and no video. Only did a couple of reps, grass was wet and he was slipping on the wraps. One of my concerns with him has always been that he has no regard for his own well being

ParticipantHey there Tracy, here’s a bit more zig zag we did today. Jumps up to 16 and I’m starting him right at the bar. Took a bar down on rep 1, but then good after that.
Weather is finally turning for the better, 80 and low humidity, so hopefully I’m not out of time. If I am, it’s been fun and you’ve given us a bunch to work on.
Tom Toomla
ParticipantWe’ll play some more with the zig zag, it fits well in my yard.
Trial went well, he ran fast and happy for the most part. Some dropped bars due late BC’s – the judge had some blazing fast courses, so he did get ahead of me at times. Blew thru his first stopped A frame contact, I stopped and put him back on, he got it and was good for the rest of his runs. Weaves became a problem late in the day, he just wasn’t happy about doing them. I’m going to keep an eye on him and see if I see anything physical bothering him. I’m suspecting he might have strained a dew claw, happens a lot with him.
Realized that 5 runs is too much for 1 day in AKC, so I will not do that again. OK in CPE with their shorter games courses, but even there I’m going to keep it to 4 maximum
Will study the remote reward videos later today, thanks

ParticipantHey there Tracy
Works been crazy, but we are still picking away at skills.
Tried some of the zig zag work I saw on Nancy L’s thread. 3 jumps, 48” bars set at 12”Did I get this right?
Have our 1st pandemic trial tomorrow, 4 thru 12 running today, 16 to 24 tomorrow. No more than 7 people in the room at the same time including the judge, masks mandatory even when running
I have a feeling running in an empty room is going to work out well for him, wish us luck
Tom Toomla
ParticipantHot, that about describes it all, have not been working him much.
Played around a bit with double blinds just now. Did I get this right?
Tom Toomla
ParticipantHey there. was reading thru this weeks custom skill sets, fun stuff that I can easily work on in my limited space. Put together this video I think for the Opposite Arm class and don’t think I ever sent it to you. fun stuff and it fits right in with the skills
Played around a bit with the double blinds last night, no video but it went well

ParticipantHey there Tracy – did an A/C ring rental on Saturday, what a pleasure. Some work on tight turns out of the tunnel, backsides and threadles
1st rep – interesting
next few tunnel reps – changed the verbal from Cody Cody to dig dig to make it clearer for him
Threadles, jumps were probably a bit close for a smooth threadle, but I’ve got to work with what I find, no one wants anyone touching anything nowadays. It’s going to be brutally hot the next few days, so we’ll wait for a cool down to get back to work.
