ParticipantHey there Tracy, here’s a bit of work we did on masters sequence #1 jumps 4 – 8. These were our first and only reps on this setup last night. Here’s what I see
Rep #1 – a bit late on the BC
Rep #2 – better BC
Rep #3 – threadle cue without a send to jump 9
Rep #4 – too fast on the stop 6 – 7?
Rep #5 – you want me to jump where LOL after the threadle pullTom Toomla
ParticipantHey there, we played around a bit with the tunnel turn skill sets. Yea, the tight waps coming out of the tunnel need a bit of focused work, good to know. Did not do any rights or lefts, no room here without running him into something.

ParticipantHey there Tracy
Did a ring rental this morning, no A/C here. Worked on some go sends, pulls for tunnel / DW discrimination and backside after the weaves. Here’s what I see
Rep 1,I was late on the threadle cue for the DW
Rep 3, I got to show him at least a little bit of forward motion
Rep 4, I forgot the course after the backside
Rep 5 and 6, I was late on the crosses after the backside. Should have used more of a send here, but he saved me on both of them, good boyTom Toomla
ParticipantRe the off course tunnel, now that you point it out, it’s clear as day, all I have to do is be perfect LOL. Yea, not too many tight wraps yesterday. I was having a hard time getting ahead enough to get in his face with the check check. Something for me to work on. We did get some really nice backside wraps and slices alas, forgot to turn on the camera for those.
As always, thanks for the help

ParticipantHey there Tracy, did a 30 minute ring rental yesterday – thank you for AC. It’s been so freakin hot and humid here lately. This was the first time he’s seen a full size setup since mid March. Made me realize that he’s got backyard speed and I’ve got room to run speed, threw all my timing off, but I did enjoy watching him stretch it out.
Question I have here is what did I do if anything at .42 for the off course tunnel? I don’t see a thing

ParticipantHey there, played around with Masters sequence #1, here it is, warts and all. This was our very first session with it, figured it out after the first two reps I think. Could not figure out how to get jump 1/7 into range, but it was there.

ParticipantHey there, here’s our work on skills 4 and 6. The earlier I leave on the wraps, the better he does, it’s usually me. Late on the blinds, something else for me to work on. Didn’t get much more than this, it’s hot out. When he starts hiding out in the bushes, he’s making it clear he doesn’t want to play

ParticipantHey there Tracy, here we are playing around with skill sets 1 – 3, a continuation of our opposite arm and commitment work. I left in the oops, late on the BC’s

ParticipantHey there Kim
Want to tell you that I enjoyed the class. Yes, I’ve been quiet, it’s hard as an auditor, but I got a lot out of the lessons and your input to the working students. Very detailed
We ran a couple of match runs this past Friday at the venue where we usually trial, here’s my observations
Same venue, full floor, maybe 20 people there, no ring crew, no judge, timer was used
He has a hard time holding his contacts in trials, nailed them all in the match run
I got training speed and no pop outs from him in the weaves, he tend to slow and or pop out at trials
I handled much more aggressively at the match, used blinds wherever I could. We do so much better when he’s chasing me as opposed to me chasing him LOL
So what was the difference
– no people in the ring, I should work this into our training
– I was in a training mindset, not an I want to Q mindset
– even though I didn’t use them during the runs, he knew I had his beloved t ball and cookies on me, I need much more remote reward work
– aggressive is good, the best way to get it is go for itWe also trialed in AKC last weekend. I used FEO where allowed and did use fix and go a couple of times. I think this program is going to work well for us
Thanks again, and I look forward to taking a working spot in a future class of yours

ParticipantI can attest to there being huge benefits to the pattern games. I’ve worked thru a lot of this material with Bobbie in the past and use it all the time at trials.
Mat work, I find a place where we can put a mat and see the ring. We then play go to mat, a couple of rounds of that and the mat transforms in a giant tug toy – play at ringside, I never thought I was going to get there, but we have with the mat.
I also get huge benefit out of playing simple hand touch games. I’ll get him bopping between my left and right palm and reward every 4th or 5th rep. It’s amazing watching his face relax and his tail come up.
So the benefit of training the patterns well is that they become something known that they can do in uncomfortable situations – yes?

ParticipantThanks for the video’s, yes I think we have most of this down, but I will double check.
He has a good understanding of his switch cue, our key to success with RC’s is for me to make sure I let him get ahead of me.I am pushing myself to use blinds more, he reads them well and we do so much better when he’s chasing me as opposed to me chasing him

ParticipantVery cute
ThanksTom Toomla
ParticipantHey there Kim
I’d relish anything that you have to share for rear crosses.
I would have to say that a FC is my go to handling move. My walk thrus are based on using FC’s and then what happens in a run is that I realize that i”m not going to make it to position, so I throw in an unplanned rear. Yea, I see a couple of those in the video, where I’m starting the rear and he’s not ahead of me yet. Not as fast as I used to be, osteoarthritis in a knee will do that to you. Blinds he reads well, and I have to be brave enough to use them more often
Weaves I trained using 2×2 method. he does like the weaves and is fast in training sessions. He does slow down in trials. The weave performance in the standard run was a good trial effort for him. I have cut down to 6 poles in training, he does start to slow down after 3 reps of 12 poles, so their might be something physical there maybe?
Have a great holiday

ParticipantHey there Kim, here’s my auditors video. Hard to know what to send you, do I sent you two trial runs representative of our issues. I truly believe that his performance is tied to his mindset. The more comfortable he is, the better it goes. Cody is a bit soft and is definitely a worrier, and to make it harder, he has to go check out what he’s worried about, I think that’s apparent with both judges in these runs. Starting next to the timers table always adds more pressure, I think that’s why he’s slower in the first run, but I may be wrong. 2nd run he’s moving but still not thinking 100% clearly and I have a few handling bobbles. I know I have to be errorless, because letting him know we made a mistake never goes anywhere positive.
Getting a lot out of your lectures, would love to see this class again in spring or summer, this is a tough time of year to find training time

ParticipantThanks again for this class, got a bunch of stuff out of it
Trialed in CPE this past weekend – 10 runs, 8 of which were great, we were connected and worked as a team.
Some driving errors on my part, and I did not try and fix anything all weeekend – yay for me
Nailed all his weaves, with some cool driving entries
I stayed positive all weekend – when anyone told me good run, I let my reply be a simple thank you, I left out all the yes but did you see the mistake on #__
Focused on the course maps on run at a time – did not look at the next course until having run the previous course
Spent time between runs visualizing the good, to the point where a couple of times I forgot I was the leash runner – LOLAll is good and looking forward to what you will come up with for us next – enjoy working with you
