ParticipantThanks! She’s growing a lot right now! I’m going to have to keep working these turns since the length of her body is changing….and therefore my timing needs to change also!

ParticipantOpps – wrong video. Here’s the right one.

ParticipantPearl – wing wrap rocking horse
Ignore the last rep – not sure what I was thinking! But if I learned anything, it’s “no toy in pants”!

ParticipantPearl – prop game 3 rear on the flat
Start line stay is coming along…..but still needs work! I’m happy with the turns, but then once she’s in handler focus it’s hard for her to leave to drive to prop.

ParticipantPearl Handling combos – take 5 & 6
First video is your Christmas present and our blooper reel. Moving exercise, decided we will make this work with a toy….with a long tail. She’s amped up today! Obviously tail needs to be 10 feet long when she’s this excited! Broke off first video when party of one lasted too long…..but it’s a riot!
Second video – I’m not getting much distance on send to barrel (with lure of toy on ground). Is the lure of the toy why she’s ignoring my “side”? Or am I still not connecting enough? I’m thrilled with the drive to the toy…..thought we had lost that!

ParticipantPearl – strike a pose part 2 (week 6)
Stays coming along but still not ready for prime time. I switched to cheese balls so they were hopefully more visible. She was pretty honest! Did one set with food delivered from hand, and one set with food on ground delivered from bowl. Pearl has clearly told me that stationary exercises require food, while moving exercises can use a toy. In that way she is becoming a typical Berner!

ParticipantThanks for this feedback! The place where she had a question was because I made the treat hand more visible on that rep. So she tried the quick approach of going directly to it. Hopefully she learned! I will practice this some with toys. Unfortunately I still don’t have a stay. My criteria for proper sit (obedience) slowed us down….but this has kicked me back to stay training! I’ll post more videos after we get to practice this more. Will combine it with last nights progression to jump bump.

ParticipantPearl – Handling Combos –
I’m giving you lots of opportunity for feedback here! Party of one…..on display. Once food came out, toy reduced in value.

ParticipantPearl strike a pose
Sorry – have given up on video remote….and latest IOS update has taken my ability to edit off beginning and end of videos.
This wasn’t very “energized”…..but will wait for some feedback before I push ahead.

ParticipantHello out there! Pearl and I are still alive……but have had struggles with managing priorities. Ive put some pressure on both of us to get caught up…..and quickly realized that it was too much pressure. I wasn’t doing a thoughtful job, and she stopped having fun. So – we WILL catch up….but we might remain behind for the rest of this session. I know you will agree with me that I need to reduce the pressure….but this Type A needs your permission/approval! We will post mostly baby level exercises and continue to work the exercises till we can get more advanced.

ParticipantThank you for all of this! Could you please move to TN so you can nag me “real time” and more frequently about all this stuff!?!?!🤣

ParticipantPearl collection sandwich
We are seeing the struggle with switching between food and toys…..
And actually while I was away, I did a TON of “any toy any time!”

ParticipantI had another training session before I got your feedback. I warmed her up with the parallel path and sideways send before I tried the rear cross. So I was still making her hit the target on the parallel path – but I do understand the concept of not making her do that. So I will make that easier on her the next time. She is growing again……..up to 60 pounds! I REALLY appreciate this class….and how you are able to help us with foundations without risking the joints on my “non-traditional” breed!

ParticipantPearl commitment understanding – parallel path lines and counter motion. We needed a bit more practice before we do the rear cross exercise.

ParticipantPearl Turn and Burn
First try – she was quite distracted. Also she had to do some “business”….which ended our session. Second try – I realized I had toy in the wrong hand! So tried another session….which got cut short by the rain. Distracted again! A theme?
