ParticipantPearl backing up 2 (week 3 game 1)
We’ve been practicing the backing up a bunch. Here’s the latest video:
It was a bit hard getting to this point since the “perch” has shrunk 😂!
Got behind again with another week away and not enough space to do the running games. I’ll catch back up again! More videos to come.

ParticipantGot it….and makes sense. I used cheese as I thought it would be more visible. Kibble will be easier to hold several of and reward more quickly.

ParticipantI did notice the left side better. But it didn’t make sense to me. I would have expected he to look at me more on the left side (heeling side). Is it my throw since I have more trouble throwing left handed? I will try the quicker releases also.

ParticipantPearl wing wrap week 2
I thought the theory/progression on this game was BRILLIANT….but Pearl thought it was dumb!🤣. Then I realized I skipped the step with the crate collapsed….so clearly I was dumb! It took her a while to remember the game….so video is a bit long. Sorry about that.

ParticipantPearl driving ahead part 2
Trying out a new tripod and remote start. Remote start in my pocket….shut the video off at a critical part!😢 we had an awesome “me winning” that really worked on her next rep. Had to do a second video to try to reproduce it. I love this game! I notice that I’m looking at her when I run. But I should also be focused forward at toy, right? More room for improvement!

ParticipantI just tried this with gates up to make a channel to help keep her straight. She backed much further and more confidently. Is that a good plan? Or just another crutch to fade?

We worked the baby stuff first before I videod this. I LOVE this method of teaching the back! I’ve been teaching Berner babies to back with head down – in preparation for carting/draft work – for many years……but this will be my new favorite way! I’m struggling with keeping head down in this step where I’m also asking for two back feet on something. Did I hurry this? If food delivered more quickly, head stays down. But waiting for feet on brings the head up looking at me. I KNOW you will have the magic answer!😁

ParticipantThank you! I love the clicker, but I think I’ll have to switch to “yes” on the exercises with the tugging as I’m not doing the juggling very well. It’s so easy to see these things when you point them out!
I used the gravel area for the noise….thought it would be more forgiving than the clunk of the concrete driveway. But it did have smells (and maybe rabbit poop!)
We will keep working this.wendysboehme
ParticipantPearl goat tricks movement and noise
4 videos here. By the end she was kind of over the tugging. In hindsight I shouldn’t have rushed to get this done…..should have had some rest time in between.

ParticipantYou are giving me so much great feedback! I just hope I can remember it all as these games progress! Hoping Amazon delivers my tripod today so I don’t have to rely on hubby videoing the rest of the games to get me caught up.

ParticipantAlso – forgot to answer your question on equipment. I have tons of FitPaws equipment and will use the big wobble board for the movement and noise game.

ParticipantPearl Plankrobatics goat tricks 3
She’s been running back and forth over a plank on the ground for months, so this was easy. But this was the first time we elevated it, or tried to turn around on it.wendysboehme
ParticipantHere’s some video of her on a higher thing. She has no fear………yippee but sometimes scary!

ParticipantI just tried this with a longer toy and that made a lot of sense, (btw she DOES tug much better outside!). But – with the longer toy, she also jumped up and tried to get the part closer to my hand. Any hints on avoiding hand biting in tugging arousal?

ParticipantI’m pleased with how this is going. And I think it will make more sense to her with a bigger “cone”.
