It used to be called the “evil” arm but now we know it is totally helpful! The opposite (outside) arm has a variety of uses in agility that can help your dog know exactly where to go and how tight to turn. Join us to learn how to use your non-dog-side arm to cue a variety of useful skills on course – and how to make each cue look distinct so the dog has no questions!
We will cover how to train and use the opposite arm to help cue collection, backsides, lead changes, threadle wraps, turns on the flat, side changes, layering and more! You’ll find it simple and fun – and a great addition to your handling toolbox! You’ll also learn when/where to use it on course, so you can use it to help create great runs!
This class fits perfectly into any handling system and is tailored to the needs of each individual dog and handler team. Each skill will be taught on one jump then built up to mini sequences using 2-3 jumps and a tunnel. Everything can be adjusted for a small space.
Working participants can post videos of their training for personalized feedback! Auditors are welcome to train along with the working participants and ask questions for individual feedback!
