ParticipantStrike Pose Serpentine with Jump Bump – 8/1/20
So other than 2 failures where he wove around the standard to get to my hand, he transferred to the jump bump with no issues. (no idea why he thought that was what I wanted!) And he definitely can work longer with food since he’s not expending so much effort tugging. I should have broken this session up as he had a few instances of not lining up and sitting promptly.Julie Heller
ParticipantStrike Pose Serpentine with food dish – 8/2/20
Food dish is really high value! No issues in first session when it was empty. Took a short break and then did 2nd session with treat in dish. Watching this I think I should have removed the treat for his 2nd try instead of just changing my relative position and his angle. He thought long and hard and then decided to nose touch so I treated there and in the dish

ParticipantTurn Away – lap turn – 8/1 and 8/3/20
2 sessions mashed together. (Had issues uploading to YouTube so hopefully this works)Baby level went well. Broke sit trying to go to high value prop before we started, but MCH prevails when We actually got going.
Question on the tandem turn. In the video with Contraband, it doesn’t look like he gets a treat for coming in. Is that because he’s more in to food or are the lap turn mechanics where you did treat for coming in different?

ParticipantTunnel threadles & sends -8/1/20
Posting this one because I’m trying to figure out why he’s deciding to hang out inside the tunnel with his toy. He’s done it a few times before and usually when it was warmer. It was cooler for this session and I was doing more catch and playing between reps and also keeping the angles a bit easier. Unless it;s just that he likes to try to shred fluffy toys (although in 1 session a few days ago I had to fish Nemo out of the tunnel)

ParticipantProp Countermotion – 7/31/20
Added a bit more distance inside. How long should my arm be back and supporting the prop as I’m moving away? Sometimes I feel like I’m dropping it too soon when I start moving.Julie Heller
ParticipantJump Bump Parallel Path with Nemo – 7/30/20
Pretty happy with how he kept his noodles in the bowl with Nemo in play. Thx for reminding me about being ahead- he was successful when I made sure the line to me was through the jump but cut inside when it wasn’t.
In regards to him lying down when tugging in our tunnel session, it’s not teething. He’s had all his adult teeth for a while. I think part of it is him pulling back and just ending up in a down but I will try letting go sooner to see if he stops. It wasn’t hot then but sometimes he does seem to lie down more in the heat.

ParticipantTunnel Threadles – 7/29/20
So I was prepared to treat him for sticking with me and not taking extra tunnels and he didn’t even try.
There are mulberries in the back part of our yard (thanks to the neighbor’s poor planting decision) and he was dropping the toy to look for them in a few cases so I ended heading in the other direction to take the berries out of play.Julie Heller
ParticipantTunnel – 7/27&28/20
This is excerpts from 3 sessions over the last 2 days. (and previously we had 1 tunnel shaping refresher since I’ve only done a few training sessions with the tunnel with him before this). I ditched the clicker after I almost threw it with the toy.
Sending to the food in the dish is the slowest. Nemo the fastest and the fluffy tug in the middle. Not shown – but I did confirm that a “dead toy” on the ground rates below the food dish in terms of effort expended. So I decided to toss the toy after he entered but where he could see it landing from the sky.
A bit long, but the middle section just cracked me up when he started taking Nemo in to the tunnel

ParticipantStrike a Pose -7/27/20 – take 2 on the video
I accidentally dropped a treat near the end and proved that it was too much of a distraction for him as he skipped the nose touch to the post-it and started heading to the treat.
More trumpet for you in this one!-

ParticipantJump Bump with Food and Toy – 7/28/20
Mash up of 2 short sessions – First one I did a bit more lateral distance with tossing food (as much lateral as I can do in my living room without removing the couch!). Then decided to try tossing the indoor version of Nemo (his new Mickey Mouse ball).
I plan to move outside for the next session.Cameo appearance by Demi, our resident couch potato. I didn’t realize she was nervously wandering back and forth (and going right by Min in her bed off to the side) as we were doing this until I watched the video

ParticipantWing Wrapping Standing up – 7/27/20
I hadn’t noticed how he leads with his head around the turns but that is cool.
I moved to standing up straight pretty quickly since my legs decided they didn’t approve of crouching longer. I had the obstacle between 6-24in away from me.Julie Heller
ParticipantParallel Path – Jump Bump – 7/27/20
Found a solution (thanks to Costco.com) for how to get footing with traction and not lose a treat in grass! (although now I need a larger living room since I don’t have much more room to push back the couch)
This was his first session with a jump bump so I stayed close but it seemed easy for him.Julie Heller
ParticipantProp – Parallel path & Rear crosses – 7/25/20
Put a fit paws pod underneath the hat so that I could see it sticking up better in the grass. Did this session at an outdoor agility trial (way down the hill and far away from the action).
He turned the correct direction for each RC (yay) but I’m having a hard time clicking and throwing the treat soon enough on the parallel path. By the time it looks like he has intent to hit the prop or at least stride over it, he’s already turning his head to check with meJulie Heller
ParticipantAdv Wing Wrapping – 7/24/20
We’ve done this with a cone or PNU in both yards and at his class. Now we’re back in the basement because the heat index was pushing 100 over lunch. He cut inside near the end partly because the treat bag was there, but he sorted it out

ParticipantNow I’m wondering which video I posted! This one starting around 0:50 is RC work.
