    Rosie Step 3 Sequence 1 2 3
Okay, I put the tunnel out and now she takes the jump which she had no trouble with when the tunnel wasn’t there! I guess I was too cavalier.

This was a short session, we were both recovering from a long weekend. Both girls went 5 for 5.

    Lily Step 3 Sequence 1 2 3
Lily had the most energy of us all.
In sequence 2 we still had some trouble with the left turn out of 4.

In sequence 3 I tried some different things here, including wrong courses!
I had a better chance to get the back side of 7 if I stayed on the back side of the line of jumps.

I had a lot of trouble keeping her on my left. This comes up a times. She will cut behind me to get to my right side.

    2 Rosie Skills Pkg4
Rosie seemed to really like the tunnel. I had to put a front cross to keep her out of the tunnel.
At the end I moved the cone away more. This seemed to help.
I placed the obstacles close to make it more challenging, maybe I over did it.

    3 Lily Sequences Pkg4
I had a hard time getting the blind in before 5. I probably should have used rear crosses, but she is not going our ahead of me yet enough to get a good rear in. Also 8 to 9.
    3 Lily Sequences Pkg4

    4 Lily Sequences 2 Pkg4
This set was similar, except I did eventually get a blind in before 5.
    4 Lily Sequences 2 Pkg4

    5 Rosie Sequences Pkg4
Rosie is better at moving ahead, so I could get the rear crosses in, however, I forgot to use my verbals.

Lily was pretty excited about plying this game. At one point I intentionally dropped the treat bag as a distraction.

With Rosie I had to try harder to keep her off the front of the jump.
I started out using turn because that is her turn away from me.
Then I decided to use flip like with Lily.

    Tracy,
I am not sure what you mean by a tunnel threadle. I get the threadle with two jumps vs a serpentine. I always assumed a threadle meant to take two consecutive obstacles in the same direction. Is this with a jump next to a tunnel and the dog takes the jump then comes between the jump and tunnel and then takes the tunnel in the same direction?

    Lily Transition to Trials Pkg2
I forgot to do this with a leash on. She is pretty food motivated so she caught on pretty quick. The swinging toy did not seem to be much of a distraction.

Rosie and Lily Transition to Trials with Distraction
Unfortunately, I placed Kim right in front of the camera; however, they were both very focused on me and didn’t seem to mind that their sister was getting treats right in front of them.

Sorry about this. I tend to go off camera a bit.

    Rosie Verbals
I never trained Rosie with wrap verbals, or right and left verbals. I trained her with turn to turn away and here to come to me. So this is a start for her with these varbals.

    Lily Sequences
I had a lot of trouble getting her to stay on my left. She kept wanting to cut behind me to get to my right side. I have noticed this before. I don’t know if this is the reason, but when e take them out for a walk, which we do once or twice a day, Kim always takes Lily and fro almost the entire walk she is on her right side. I have been trying to have her walk on her left side more, but it has now become a habit.

    Lily Sequences 2
You can see that she is doing the dame thing here, trying to get to my right side.

    Rosie Sequences
As I mentioned above, I never trained Rosie with Right and Left verbals, or wrap verbals, so this is new to her. I am just starting to introduce them now.
    10 Rosie Sequences 1 Pkg2

    Verbals
Extension on a Line – Go
    Turn Cues
    Soft Left – Left
    Soft Right – Right
    Wrap left – L, L, L
    Wrap right – R, R, R
    Backside – back
    Threadle – here
    Obstacle Cues:
Tunnel, jump, weave, ramp, walk it, teeter
    Release
    OK
I am training Lily using these words.
I have not used the right, left, R, or L with Rosie. I trained her with turn for turn away and here for turn to me. I am starting to introduce these varbals to Rosie now.

Thanks for your comments. They are very useful.
About carrying into the ring: I usually carry Rosie into the ring. One reason for this is that I can better control the leash runner. I can hand the leash to the leash runner and better keep her from distracting Rosie at the start line. She will often go check out the leash runner if she sees the motion before we get started. Rosie can get interested in the ring crew. Sometimes she will visit the bar setters and usually will check out the judge at least once in a trial. I would like to walk in on leash, because I think it gets them more engaged and if they are anxious to get into the ring you know they are ready to run. I think I will try to do this with Lily.

    Game 10 Minny Pinny
Sometimes I had a hard time starting her off on the inside. She is definitely a lefty!

    Game 11 Backside Circle Wraps
I hadn’t trained a circle wrap que before. I just started using dig-dig. Do you have a separate que for a left circle wrap vs a right circle wrap? Game 11 – Backside Circle Wraps

Game 12 – Through the Box
I don’t think I did all these exercises right. The first one I see I did a front cross instead of a simple post turn. I guess the front cross takes the other jump out of play.
I was happy with her sends.
I has to step in a lot to get the backsides.
I had trouble with the serp until I thought about your advice about dropping my shoulder and looking at her more.
She got back to liking the MM. Game 12 – Through the Box

With the Mini Pinny she will sometimes cut in between the cone and the jump upright! Like that’s much of a short cut. I noticed the last couple I mixed up my Left and Right verbals. Minny Pinny

    Game 7 Serp-Threadle
The first time she went directly to the tunnel, was meant to be a serp. Game 7 Serp-Threadle

    Game 8 Jump-Tunnel
I didn’t have enough room for my teeter on the floor so I used a jump instead.
She did better going to the left (she’s a lefty). I noticed that on the right I was using wrap verbals instead of my Left and Right for soft turns oops. I had trouble to get her to go beyond the jump, so I got out the MM. It is interesting that one time the MM misfired and after that Lily seemed uninterested even though it was working again.
You can see I was working on getting her to continue on after the jump to take the tunnel. had some success. Jump-Tunnel

Game 4 – Wrap vs Go
We had some trouble with the Go.
I used the Manners Minder to train the Go a bit, then she got a little confused with the wrap.

With the tunnel part, I had to use a verbal or a little motion to get her over the jump.

These were mostly wraps, because I didn’t have enough room for a soft turn.
