That makes total sense, I will use the bowl next time. Again, I love the screen shots!!

Today we did the serp and ladder grid. The first rep of the serp went into the tunnel šŸ™‚ but great after that. I tried to make sure to really look toward my hand after. She a smartie pants! These are fun to see her really understanding the difference! For the grid we have previously done four jumps in a row in our in person class and also worked on it as homework as well… so we just went right to three. We had not done the angles and we are supposed to work on that as well, so we did both. Jumps are spaced at 6 feet with the bars locked in at 8″.

I love the screen shots so much, that you. I got back and watch, but that makes it so clear.

Feel The Wind In Your Hair, Part 2: Rear Crosses
We had rain yesterday afternoon and all afternoon today, but nice in the AM, and not too soggy to do rear crosses. In general I’m not good at rear crosses. I have one dog who can actually do them and she was trained with a target, so I defaulted to that after several fails. I use ā€œturnā€ as a rear cross cue. Despite teaching my last two dogs right and left, I can’t do them well on course. I also tend to reverse them if trying to rear cross, so I mostly gave up there.

Bokeh – Handling Games: The Diamond

We skipped up a few because tunnel was out and we have rain coming for a few days, so good outdoor one. I recorded before your comments above, but also noted the arm back connection parts in the demo video…. And I still noticed I need much improvement there. I was trying!

Westminster was soooo much fun! Watched some of the flyball too!!

Worked on the Minny Pinny again, I had played with spacing a bit yesterday with both bigger and smaller and I think I landed on slighter more spaced out here. Tried the turning away and that didn’t seem to go that well. I went back and looked at the video again and maybe need to add a target or something…

I found the Zig Zag video a bit confusing on how to start it… and I am not sure if I did it right.

I thought she did pretty good, I think my handling position might be a bit off…

Bokeh – Concept Transfer: Set Point With Moving Target

Jumps are about 5 feet apart, both set at 8″. I thought she looked good and her focus stayed low.

Handling Games: Tunnel Exits Turns! Super fun!! I only did the first two setups. I need to do the rights still! When she stopped behind the wing she had hacked up the treat I just fed her.

Hello!! We practiced the smiley face game more and also the moving target pre game. I felt like she has learned to focus to use that for the next game! I didn’t make and videos for the above two, but really loved the smiley face setup!

Next game was wrap proofing! OMG, she was so amazing!! New game/concept for me so I was just thrilled. When we switched sides she did go in the tunnel the first time twice, so moved the wing further. Then after a few turns I realized I never hit record so most of that side is not on video. I also realize I forgot the collar part after I started and she was not wearing one.

Thank you thank you! For the moving target, I did work on the pre game (no video). She really wants to target near my hand. I was using a single paracord rope tied to a long toy that was big and fun. She will play with the toy, but her focus was very much on my hands, I’m sure history of reinforcement there. I did get her finally focusing on the end of the toy, I’ll try to get a video.

Totally makes sense re connection! I think you are very correct (of course). Today we did the Smiley Face Game and I really tried to work hard on the connection, but we definitely had some bloopers. I need to look at the video more, but looking forward to your feedback as well! Overall I am just thrilled to see Bokeh loving some things that are looking like handling! So fun!! Oh, this was also her first time with that tunnel. I had lent two tunnels and most of my tunnel bags out, I got one tunnel back but no bags. I have had a few more new tunnels bags and bags of rocks sitting around for well over a year. Finally filled them this morning! I guess I needed some additional motivation! Need it for class!!!

We got started with Set Point and Wind in your Hair!

The spacing on the set point was about 5 feet. I just used my 4′ bar and estimated another foot so not exact. Using a bowl with a treat and mixing in stay rewards. I think she looked pretty good for her first time.

Wind in your Hair – I thought went well with treats and added a toy after a few reps and we got over focused on the toy and grabby. I’ve really not done any formal no snatching, other than trying not to let her get anything… We did finish out the last few games in MaxPup1 after the class, which included the one like this with the tunnel and we had the same problem with the toy and I think I mostly did the same thing, which was break it down a bit more and build back up. I think we finished well.

Glad to be back playing games! Happy New Year!!!

I love that! My goal is definitely a long happy successful career!!

I was really surprised by the return to where the bowl was! Definitely power of reward placement!!

We played ball trades today and did the lateral lead out. With the lead out one there were sooooo many really awesome pieces… and there are so many pieces! except the actual barrel wrap šŸ˜‚ we have not done anything lateral recently, so maybe a refresher. Or just needs to sleep on it.

Hello!! Back to our Max Pup videos…

I have to say, one of the things I really love about your class is how broken down all the handling steps are! It works quite well with my brain. Really enjoy these! Thank you!

We did the serps with movement. It took about 5 minutes total with lots of staying, so next time we will do threadles. I forgot the first rep to walk out with hand out. After that I was loading the bowl after the previous rep.

After that we did wing wraps. We did our first wing wraps in our in person puppy class this week as well. They looked about the same and I thought both went well! I was very happy in class that all our foundation on the barrels transferred well as we were the only one not doing the foundation on wings.

    Yay!!!

    Today…

Wing wrap… I feel like I’m too late… must be faster. Not to mention some processing time on my part of trying to do it on all sides and directions.

Clobbered jumps on one rep, but seemed to sort that out. I guess that’s why jump bumps!
