ParticipantI have 4 foot bars and I usually use those and kinda guess measure 6′. This was much easier! I did measure my weave poles to see if those would work, but they are 40″. The 3 foot bar is going to be a great addition for grids!!
We did the first part of the starfish today. The camera seems to be in the worst possible spot. Sorry. It took a bit to sort out for me, but I think we got better as we went along.

ParticipantThank you! That is really helpful for the backsides especially. I will work on that. They were really fun drills.
Today we did the accordion grid, I noticed you using a bar to measure, I thought brilliant, so cut a 3’ bar today. The jumps start spaced out 6 feet, then added/subtracted 3 feet each time. Jumps are locked in at 8”. Reps 2/4 she just took a big bounce jump. So that would be 9’ spacing.

ParticipantNew games!
I think we started off poorly on our first backside rep, played a bit of tug and restarted. Otherwise was pretty happy with everything!

ParticipantWe started off a bit rough, but I think we finished strong! I love the screenshots so much! I think I did good on my body and lines on this one! I decided I am going to use “Zip Zip” for a tunnel threadle. This is the first time she has heard it.

ParticipantI forgot to post my video from yesterday! We did the first part of turn aways. I had to work through a bit of communication and mechanics, but I think we got better as we went through it!

ParticipantOh those rear crosses… I love the visuals so much! THANK YOU!
Today was mission transition and zig zag. I thought both went well overall. Mission Transition I feel like I did much better on the first side, then struggled with how to time.

ParticipantWe have had many days of rain! We worked on other inside things, but nothing from class. So back at it with the next two.
Layering. I think this went great! I think you can see, but I had a cover on the other side of the tunnel.
Rear crosses. I went back to the first exercise and tried the changes jump further and using an empty bowl. Then tried food at the end. Overall this went all crummy. Definitely the kind of session I would normally just delete the video and avoid trying again until I had forgotten about it. But here it is.

ParticipantThat makes total sense, I will use the bowl next time. Again, I love the screen shots!!
Today we did the serp and ladder grid. The first rep of the serp went into the tunnel 🙂 but great after that. I tried to make sure to really look toward my hand after. She a smartie pants! These are fun to see her really understanding the difference! For the grid we have previously done four jumps in a row in our in person class and also worked on it as homework as well… so we just went right to three. We had not done the angles and we are supposed to work on that as well, so we did both. Jumps are spaced at 6 feet with the bars locked in at 8″.

ParticipantI love the screen shots so much, that you. I got back and watch, but that makes it so clear.
Feel The Wind In Your Hair, Part 2: Rear Crosses
We had rain yesterday afternoon and all afternoon today, but nice in the AM, and not too soggy to do rear crosses. In general I’m not good at rear crosses. I have one dog who can actually do them and she was trained with a target, so I defaulted to that after several fails. I use “turn” as a rear cross cue. Despite teaching my last two dogs right and left, I can’t do them well on course. I also tend to reverse them if trying to rear cross, so I mostly gave up there.Jessica Hecock

We skipped up a few because tunnel was out and we have rain coming for a few days, so good outdoor one. I recorded before your comments above, but also noted the arm back connection parts in the demo video…. And I still noticed I need much improvement there. I was trying!

Definitely was way too far to start, but I think we got it quickly!

ParticipantWestminster was soooo much fun! Watched some of the flyball too!!
Worked on the Minny Pinny again, I had played with spacing a bit yesterday with both bigger and smaller and I think I landed on slighter more spaced out here. Tried the turning away and that didn’t seem to go that well. I went back and looked at the video again and maybe need to add a target or something…
Left/Right Verbals With The Minny Pinny Video 2
I found the Zig Zag video a bit confusing on how to start it… and I am not sure if I did it right.

Jumps are about 5 feet apart, both set at 8″. I thought she looked good and her focus stayed low.
