You are so good! I think you are onto something with the heeling on the left side! I will try those suggestions.

Today we did Strike a Pose and Tunnel Games 1. We went to an agility fun day and I tried the pattern game there. It may have been a little too much going on, but I thought she still did pretty good overall.

We are back! I still exist! We sandwiched a Tahoe vacation in between a hunt test and agility trial, so we have not been working on our MaxPup training. But we are back at it and just a little behind now. I assume I can just keep working along? Here are the last games from week 3. I was originally only going to do the next two… Collection Sandwich and Turn and Burn… so we did those in the morning. But when I read the next two, I thought those would be easy enough to add in today at lunch. So we also did the Pattern Game and Stealth Self-Control 3.

My main notes were, apparently we cannot go around on the right side… hmmm… Also with the Stealth Self-Control we used a toy that is always out… then it occurred to me that is not novel, so I did a few more with a ball…

Now I can move to week 4!

Thank you! That makes more sense about the prop game! She is definitely going over it with intent. I will keep moving forward!

I watched the turn and burn and it seemed like I ideally needed the wrap with toys back and forth vs the bowls, so we worked on that today.

Next two games, backup up I think I went well. I’ve taught it in the past moving myself, so fun to try something new. Bokeh has no experience backing up…

Did the parallel path prop games. I think our prop stuff continues to be meh. I think I started getting most just walking over it for rewarding too much one foot I guess. Also started to feel like intro to running contact training. I’m not sure if I should keep trying to advance with the weekly games or just try to get better prop interaction.

    Thank you!!

Today we did position changes on the plank per above. We have done position changes, but not on a plank. Then we did something new for wing wrap. I’m using a Galician backside bump. Figured could be a good one? I don’t have and of those pop up baskets/crates.

About “go”… never thought of that, hmmm…. Can I try the next one using go and see how it sounds. I’m terrible with words and it’s hard to change them! We will be using “run” for our running contact.

    We are on week two!!

Stealth Self-Control: Folding It In – I think this went pretty well… I forgot the pointing at first.

For goat games… Used a wobble board outside that she has seen before. I figure it’s a bit more loud inside, which we can progress too and I can add towels under at first. She has not seen it inside. I had some open treats, which I often do, but this was probably first time with a shaping lesson outside. She tipped them a bit… good girlie didn’t eat them, so I scooped most up and then let her enjoy a grass scatter for the rest. I think worked out okay and lesson learned. No treats out next time!

I really like the comments on toy chewing and decompression, I remember that from Brain Camp and have been trying to let her do it a bit.

Final week 1 videos! The Goat Game was super fun, I think we both did better than I thought we would. We have not done shaping four feet on anything, but we have done a lot of building sit/down/stand stays by feeding lots of cookies in place and releasing. Plus a lot of rewarding for interacting with various things. So I think she built on that. She had not seen this cot before. I think after a week I am already getting better at having three arms, haha!

Stealth Self-Control 1 – I think this probably went somewhat normal? I don’t think she ever really stopped eyeballing it, but she mostly stayed engaged with the game.

After the above games we went for a walk and I did work for a few hours while she napped, then we came back and tried Building Sends And Commitment. I think my feet were correct this time, and I had no food in my sending hand. I don’t think we did much better than last time, sigh. I did reread your notes after and I did not show her my empty hand… so many add that. Or whatever else you think.

Always such great feedback, thank you! I need to tackle the sends again with proper footwork! That will be next up! Still working my way through all the week 1 games. I don’t know why I thought they were only released with the live classes, so I have some catching up to do! We spent the weekend at a hunt test, so didn’t do any Max Pup games.

For today we did our first blind cross session. I thought that went pretty well, I think I need to “cross” a bit faster. Then we have our third session of focus forward, but second video. I think better as far as trading food for toys and all that stuff, but adding a second toy in case she didn’t come back added another element to work on! I edited out some of the playing again.

Loved your comments on the drive to handler video! I definitely had to watch the video a few times to take them all in. We have done bowl work and pivot foundation re rear end awareness, but I also think she is pretty coordinated. Looking forward to doing this one more.

Here is Bokeh doing Prop Game 1 Building Sends And Commitment and Wing Wrap Foundations Shaping The Wing Wrap… My original training plan was to just do one Max Pup game, the prop game… but I did such a bad job I needed to do the wing wrap to make myself feel better. So we tugged and did a kibble scatter, then went into the next game.

The prop game was so much fun to watch on the live class and actually, watching my video back it was not as bad as it felt in the moment… But I know we will be able to do it much better when I sort out everything (again mechanics). It was still super fun! We had done two sessions of the pre game previously. I can see why you do this one on a random object! Haha! I did have treats in my “sending” hand a few times and I even read the post/question about that before… I know there was some really bad clicking when she was not on the hat. It’s amazing that dogs can still learn with us.

The wing wrap game is one we have done a few times, but not recently. We mostly followed the motion games plan to start originally, since I had done some basic motion game foundation with my other dogs awhile back, but we never got far into it. She really loves this game!

Thank you! Such great insight! I will work on those tips for my next session. Today we did Drive To Handler. I thought it went well, forgot to say get it. I’m trying to be better with using words. This was a fun game!

I enjoyed watching the live session! That was fun! Here is Bokeh with Drive Ahead Focus Forward Session 1. We have worked on both giving the toy up, but I generally make it dead with both hands on it, or trading for a treat. She has been good and getting better at both. I think need to figure out better mechanics for holding her and doing all the other things, I don’t do a lot of holding so this is good practice. Total session was 3 minutes and I edited out some playing to shorten it. I left in where she grabbed my hand. She has been getting better about that and all of her puppy teeth are gone so at least that is better!
