ParticipantHahaha, as Lennan slurped his ice cream it started dripping onto the holder’s hand. I hadn’t anticipated that, lol. Oops. It’s ok, she would still do it again.
Thank-you for the suggestions for the bang game. Will work on that next time. Yes, that one was his first on the teeter. I was very happy.
Teeter uphill today with elaborate reward. We tried two hits today.
Plank training today.

Haha, there is a huge chance that I got my ice cream later. However, seeing Lennan’s delight about the ice cream cone is pretty reinforcing for me in the moment.
The ice cream came on a trip for our latest session, sprinkles and all. https://youtu.be/4O3jVmP1X5IHere is our bang game session with small tip on teeter. https://youtu.be/O76lghh-DL8

ParticipantHello,
Here is another wobble board session. https://youtu.be/xuC-DbDs0uY
I’m not exactly sure by rewarding forward if you were meaning to release to the reward ahead without rewarding to the target, but I did some of that.More plank targeting. https://youtu.be/ZbFVm9bDtKk
Plank targeting, first time outside. The toy got very exciting. https://youtu.be/f6oyaP53BME
Uphill teeter one-hit session, a compilation over the last 3 days.
Do you think he can try the bang game on the teeter (small tip) yet?
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantGlad that you are feeling better!
Here is another session of targeting with the wobble board. Not outside yet due to darkness when I was able to train with him, but definitely more excitement.
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantI hope your reaction doesn’t last too long! Great that you’ve been able to get the vaccine though.
Sounds good on the teeter outside. Hopefully training tomorrow so will let you know how it goes.
We did some target training with the wobble board last night.
Apparently I misread your note about the fit bone under the plank and thought it was the end with the target so that’s how we trained it last night. Oops. Haha. Lennan seemed happy with it though. Will try with it at the correct end next time.

ParticipantThanks so much!
When we work the teeter outside with very little tip, should this still be a one-hit wonder?
Also, turns out our lockdown is a full lockdown except for the things that aren’t locked down and everyone is on stay at home orders except when you don’t have to stay home. Dog training happens to be one thing that is permitted to continue so we will still be able to train where we were working in the barn. That equipment is moving outside this weekend though, so next time Lennan sees that teeter, it will be outside.Kyla McNeill
ParticipantHello,
Here is another one-hit teeter with slightly more tip again. Also, the picture at the end of this video is from one day Lennan didn’t think we were starting the session quickly enough. Lol. https://youtu.be/pwnubsG2h0sMore plank training.
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantThank-you!
Cheese is definitely “the thing” for Lennan. I used cooked chicken at the session on Sunday and he was into it, but when I opened the cheese last night he was bouncing! Lol! I will keep switching it up a bit though if only to make sure the cheese stays exciting.I should have probably mentioned as apparently that part didn’t make it onto the video, every repetition on the plank after the time he had trouble with the toy also included toy play beforehand but I placed the toy farther away after the play so that it wasn’t as tempting. He was certainly still excited about the toy though and was able to follow through as long as the toy wasn’t so close.

ParticipantThank-you!
Yes, the uphill was a one-hit wonder session.
Here is another with slightly more tip on this teeter. https://youtu.be/iqbu8AjyN7wThis is where our targeting with plank is at the moment. He seems to be quite happy with it!
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantThanks so much!
Here is our first uphill with slightly greater tip.
Backup in a different place.
Downhill with higher value food and toy adjustment.

ParticipantHello! Here is our recent teeter work.
One-hit uphill: a compilation from this week.
Backup with higher tip:
Plank with target:
Plank with target again:
Plank with balance equipment. He seems happy with this. Should I continue practicing? If so, how often?
Downhill tip to table. We had a couple of “you actually have to eat the cookie” moments.

ParticipantHello! Here is Lennan’s first session of one hit on the uphill tip. After we were done, he was quite delighted. Had a big smile on his face. He was like, “that was great, let’s do it again!” (we didn’t).
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantThank-you!
I will definitely incorporate these suggestions for the target with plank and the one hit wonders for uphill.
I had been working with him on the teeter between two things, with no tip and then with downhill tip. I thought he was catching onto the target with this, but I don’t think he has quite got it. Should I work more on the target with the plank before doing this more, or just put the cookies in place when doing the downhill?
Also, tried to improvise with the plank onto fitness equipment. Lennan was entirely delighted (he loves the fitness equipment).
Kyla McNeill
ParticipantHello,
On the bang game in the previous videos, the target was there only to receive the cookies as he didn’t really have a strong target behaviour and we were working on that separately. Here is our target added with the plank.
Here is some backup bang practice.
Uphill with tip:
Lennan seemed entirely fine with a very small tip. https://youtu.be/vUE-x_f94MU
He was more concerned with increased tip at first. https://youtube.com/shorts/7OS65R8o4RM
He got happier with it on the next session.

ParticipantGood morning,
Paw pod things makes perfect sense. We do have those as well as a couple of discs and bones. Lennan loves all the fitness equipment but has not entirely figured out the pods. We are making progress but still working on it. He has worked on walking across different pieces of equipment but not including the paw pods yet as I think he would not try hard to actually step on them at this point. We will work towards that though. That’s hilarious and awesome that you can use the door dash app to get food delivered to you in your car.
For the teeter I am not sure if I am working towards 2o2o or 4on. If you have a recommendation I would love to hear. I taught my older border collie a 4on and it was beautiful when she learned it. She would run to the end and lean back (almost into a bow position). It did not hold up over time and she began stopping/creeping further up the board. I am sure more could have been done to maintain her behaviour but others have told me that’s just what happens with 4 on and that 2o2o is more clear.
Here are some videos of what we were working on last week. Three are from a few days ago that I totally forgot to post and three are from yesterday afternoon.
We had a little set back on the teeter and I’m not sure why. He’s not particularly worried about the motion I don’t think and he doesn’t tend to be sound sensitive. Previously to this course starting we had been practicing banging the end of the teeter and he had become quite delighted to slam the teeter down. It may be that he’s concerned about the combination of motion and having to stay on, or quite possibly just that he doesn’t understand the criteria at the end of the teeter. He does not like things that are unpredictable. He still seems happy to engage with the teeter and never showed that he didn’t want to approach it at all (which I have definitely seen him do with things he was worried about). In our session yesterday we made significant progress I felt. It is not shown on the video but every time I asked him to turn and go off the teeter I sent him to grab his toy in between reps of starting again. It seemed to help. I did not choose to put the barrel back to where the teeter did not tip as I was worried about Lennan feeling tricked if sometimes the teeter might move and sometimes not due to his dislike of unpredictability. If you have a different suggestion though I’m happy to hear it.
