Been on vacation and doing field work so a bit behind in doing, as well as posting.

    Wing wraps – pregame1

This is last week – should treats come from my hand instead of the floor?

She likes down better than sit and everything is a work in progress because she is so young, so this was try at pregame 2

Here is the tunnel / wing game Last time we tried it I could not keep her out of the tunnel – this time she didn’t want to go in

    Thanks for the feedback.

SO we did some back onto the wobble board – I loved the part where she was trying to keep her back feet on. We are still having problems backing straight. (I thought afterwards I should have tried some guides to help.
    Video link

So I thought I did a great 1 step send – When I looked at it not so much – but I included it anyway. The best part is her focus outside, which is an issue.

I took the tunnel for granted again in this one – I really need more connection. But here it is

Counter Motion wing wraps – Just started with 2 wings

    Thanks,
    Karen

It has taken a bit to get things video’d this time. So here is most of week 1
    Here is our lazy game

Here is 1 step. We were working thru being outside for only the 2nd time. I could not remember to use or not use the verbal.

    Plank work
I was trying to get her to look ahead before I threw but she would hop off at end.

On the mountain climber – I am trying to come up with something to hold the teeter. Is there a plan for what you have holding it up? I was a little concerned to try it without that or whatelse have people used?

    Tracy,
Back from Vacation – I tried to start with the pregame with the moving toy, total meltdown – she would not tug or even look at the toy. So I spent 15 mins on floor to get her to tug. Although we went to the small bathroom where she engaged the toy without effort, tugged and retrieved – so not sure what was up with the basement.
Anyway we did wing wraps with verbals which went well until the end where I did not set her up well. Should I be tossing cookie or from hand?

Next we did set points I had worked the stays before I turned on the camera – Not intentional so this video starts sort of in the middle of the session, also tried to do it from the side to see the striding but I only had one wing jump and used a barrel – but should have put it on the other side so you could see her. I did 5′ spacing she is about 18″ at withers.

    Thanks,
    Karen

    Mary,
I would love it if you were able to do the March 8th class. I am on Vacation until 3/11. I have not heard from Tracy – so she might have another plan. But unless you hear otherwise from her – Please take my 3/8 spot.
    Thanks,
    Karen

Here is rocking horse with toys

Here is Rocking horse with tunnel and toys

I thought this went well when I did not have toy in the wrong place and I prep’d well.
I loved that she was naughty. I get about 2 toy sessions – 1st Session lower value toy, 2nd session has to have rabbit fur. By the end of this training session I had to sit on floor for 10 minutes to get her to interact with the same toy. (We did had lots of treats in-between)

This video is a bit long – but I am having problems with the left turn into the tunnel (prep for opposite tunnel entrance) I don’t know if I am doing something wrong – but the right turns were great (She was a lefty on the minny pinny) but left not so good on this. She does a spin to the left so she can turn tight.

    this on is short

We had a great tug session to start and then she seamed to just fizzle.

I also have question on the next session – which class do I get to do live – it said one – so do I get to pick which one? I will be out of town on a couple. Did I read it right?

    Thanks,
    Karen

Rocking horse – This video was a little long – She checked out in the middle and I tried some pourage heating in to get her back. When I reviewed it I really felt I was very uninteresting and not surprised she checkout.

This was more Minny Pinny – with some great tug

This is min pin with some distance, we had 1 fail to the right but she got it with a little more support.

We also did more baby retrieve

Not sure where to go from here, do I just keep working this, maybe in a different room? Do I go on to the next level? I would not call here really trying to get it to me, but sometimes she came in my direction.

    Here is the lap turn

here are some wraps – not sure I did these right

    More Tunnel value building

Here are the wing wraps with the 3 wings

    part 1

    and part 2

I of course tried to push too far but I thought this looked good.

    Thank you

So I tried to Send to barrel and add verbals – I thought it went much better

Here I tried to add the extra step in the back – was I not patient enough? She seamed to reset instead of backing the extra step.

Here is the strike a pose with the go away – Do I not have enough value for the target? we had not worked that in a while.

So lots of outside stuff going on this week and I am lax on my videos
Here are more barrel front crosses – loved how she when for the toy.

Here is backing up – I think that went well too

More barrel work – trying to do some combo stuff – I was just excited about the tug and she did not want to give up the toy.

We tried again with toy on the ground and she would not leave it – I decided to abort and do more tug and try a lower value tug next time.

Our latest Tunnel work – I tried to work on mechanics but she did seam to want to do more.

(I had worked the other direction but forgot the video)
Here are the wing wraps with the toy – I thought it went well

Goat Tricks – I added more pods – I thought this went very well

Here is the backing up – I thought this went well as well 🙂

Sends to the prop (I had done a great session of this no video opps) so this was at the end of the session

Baby retrieves – I was so happy with this session, she was going for the toy and even sort of bringing it back.

Tracy – thank you so much for the feedback. Tugging has been a challenge for us – she will play with the toy – follow, maybe chew a little but its rare that I get good tug. I know that her back molars are coming in- so I have not pushed it – but getting concerned that I am not making great progress with it either. After a few tries – I find she will come out of the crate the 1st and sometimes 2nd time and go for the toy – (No leash required) we have engagement. But anymore than that and she says no toy – just going to sniff, which is where the leash started coming in. So cutting our total sessions shorter – and doing more tug like activity the 1st time, she will also tug at the end of 1st session but after that runs to her crate.
Here is our 1st session from yesterday – I thought the tug went good and I included the begin and end tug. It was more value for prop and I thought I tried some sends but didn’t seam like it when I looked at it.

Our 2nd skill was tunnels – but it was a bit of a mess.
This was our 1st try at ladder. This was our 3rd skill we were working yesterday(she had rest breaks while I worked the older dogs). But I see her lose interest and thought that maybe I try just 2 at a time, thoughts?

Tonight we worked ring wraps part 3 – I thought she rocked it. I am saying “Yes” should I change that to snacks? or something else since I am using food

we also worked tunnels and they went much better. I had bought a manners minder when Nicki was a puppy and never opened the box – so it needed a new battery 🙂 So got that working and did a short session on intro to it and she seemed to catch on quickly.

    – this is Allie with the upright that I added some distance (did not have time to upload before vacation)

    – this is her with a bigger object

This was goat games – part 2

(part 1 did not get a video but I thought it went well)

We had a try at more baby retrieve and it did not go well. I am sure I was just not interesting enough – she started off with interest but then quit (a while later) – finally got a little more interest in the toy

    This was a day later
https://youtu.be/GgDUaCxd03I – it went a lot better, but I could really use help here I really need a retrieve for her field work.

Backing – I was trying not to lure her back – but Somehow we got all messed up – I finally went to the back with V legs. I was really happy with her tug at the start.

Here was our any toy from a while ago

Food bowls with upright – my fault I did not bring enough treats with me, but I did think she was starting to get a rhythm.

    Here is the handler focus

    Thanks,
    Karen and Allie
